Chapter 232 - 231- A Declaration Of War
Chandea, Year of Severus, 21st, I.R., the 79th day of Spring, Oyue\'s Moon
------------
It has been a while since Oyue slept in her moon amongst the clouds. She missed the feeling of the cold breeze passing by her abode. In fact, she forgot what the cold, fresh breeze felt like. No matter how many times she tried to recreate that breeze underground, she could never replicate it perfectly for some reason. It most likely be the nostalgia of the natural flowing air that made her felt that her creation was lacking, and she accepted that fact.
She slept on her long chair in the middle of her garden. Without peeping into the human world or talking to Adlaw-on. The time she spent there was boring, but nonetheless, peaceful. Suddenly she heard a familiar voice.
"Braet Laet, Oyue." She heard the whisper as if it was a shout, calling her out from the heavens.
She felt her powers rushing throughout her body and then descending from the sky. She stood up and realized it was Orphella calling her for help, and unfortunately, she forgot to turn-off that ability she linked into the mute priestess.
Oyue rushed into the edge of her moon and saw the glowing light in the middle of the great dessert. It only took an instant for the bright light illuminate the surrounding place, and just as how quick it appeared, the light suddenly faded.
The leylines on the ground glowed in delight as her powers ascended back to her. The lines danced and swirled prominently on the ground just like how it was during its heyday. Remembering the promise she made with her siblings, Oyue\'s eyes grew wide open. She knew she made a mistake. A mistake which her sister would use against her to oust her out in the heavens, or worst, in their world.
She immediately went back to the garden and sat down on her chair, worried about the consequence of her ineptitude. The cool breeze suddenly became warm, she knew who was coming her way. Not a moment passed, and a ray of golden light descended in front of her. There stood inside the ray was her brother, the sun god Apholak.
Oyue stood up from her seat and approached his less-amused brother. She stood in front of him and the saw how her brother\'s thick brow furrowed with his eyes beaming with anger. She immediately bowed to him and greeted him; but he never greeted her back.
"What is this madness, Oyue?!" Apholak spat. "We have a truce! You gave your word—"
Before Apholak could end his sentence, a beam of crashed light in front of them. They were both able to avoid it using their magic, but the message was as clear as day.
"UNWORTHY!" Chandara\'s shout thundered through the sky. "LIAR!" Another bolt of light descended towards her.
Oyue was quick to use her magic, she created a forcefield to deflect her sister\'s blow.
"Chandara! What is the meaning of this?!" Apholak shouted and pointed his staff towards the sky. "Show yourself!"
From the dark gloomy sky, Chandara descended clad in her battle armor. In her hand was her lance, glowing and pulsating an indiscernible color of light. She landed just across where Oyue stood. Her sister pointed the weapon at her.
"Before I ran out of patience, dear sister." She began. "I am giving you a chance to leave this world for good, or else, I shall do it for you." She raised her left arm and a shield appeared.
"I-I don\'t know…what you\'re talking about." Oyue answered back confused and hurt by her sister\'s comment.
"LIAR!" Chandara\'s voice thundered. "You know exactly what I meant. You broke the rules again! If brother is still lenient towards you over this violation, I am not!"
"Chandara," Apholak sighed. "What are you doing? Put down your weapon! I was already here to reprimand her of her—"
"R-reprimand?!" Chandara furiously answered him back. "She killed one of my worshipers and all she gets is a reprimand?!"
"You tried killing mine before, haven\'t you?" Oyue interjected.
Chandara gritted her teeth and looked at her sister furiously, "So, this is vengeance over what happened three years ago?!" She took a step towards her.
"No, I am not avenging anyone." Oyue answered calmly. "I am just telling you right now how similar the situation was!" She added.
"Maybe I should\'ve killed him…" Chandara lifted her lance and pointed it to the world below. "You won\'t stop me, would you?" She grinned.
"Don\'t. You. Dare." Oyue warned. "I told you I wasn\'t involved with what just happened earlier."
"Not involved?!" Chandara scoffed. "It was your magic, wasn\'t it?! And I saw your image down there! I saw the elf turned into a shining champion of light! YOUR LIGHT!"
"Enough, sister!" Apholak commanded. "We shall do this peace—"
"There is no peace in here, dear brother!" Chandara pointed her lance back at Oyue. "She ended the peace when she gave that power—"
"We don\'t know that yet, Cha—" Apholak tried to explain.
"It\'s useless, brother!" Chandara rebutted. "She will lie, and you will fall for that lie! I know how this goes. You\'ve blinded yourself long enough." She spat.
"Do not say that to our bro—" Oyue tried reprimanding her, but Chandara\'s lance went directly to her. Luckily, she was able to evade the weapon before it hit her.
"Chandara, stop this at once!" Apholak\'s voice thundered.
Apholak immediately restrained Chandara with his golden chains before she could hurt anyone further. "I ask of you, sister, to stay calm! We shall talk this out!" He pleaded once again.
"That\'s enough, Chandara! Brother is right! Let us talk about what happened I could explain everything to you and follow any disciplinary actions you may give me." Oyue said as she tried to calm herself down. "I do not wish to harm you. Please, let\'s talk it out." She pleaded.
Chandara scoffed as if she heard something ridiculous. "T-talk it out?! Don\'t you want to hurt me?! Please, sister, I won\'t fall for those words again!"
"Chandara, listen to her." Apholak commanded.
"No, brother! I will not listen to her! And I am sick of you bossing me around! I am a goddess; I follow no rules! Not even from you." Chandara spat.
"Don\'t push it, sister." Apholak warned her. "Or I will have to—"
"Hurt me?" Chandara chuckled madly. "Better yet kill me? Please, brother I am not afraid of you and your threats. You won\'t kill me, you can\'t. But if there\'s someone who you should kill…it\'s her!" She gritted her teeth as she gazed at Oyue.
"Let us not play this game, Chandara!" Apholak said.
"I am not, brother! And why should I play a game with her?" She scoffed once again. "The last time someone played a game with her, he died…"
Oyue suddenly felt this strange sensation all over her body. Chandara was going too far against her. She even tried to recall a past Oyue didn\'t want to remember.
"Don\'t push it, Chandara." Oyue warned her. "This has nothing to do with this!"
"Bugger that!" Chandara shouted. "That has something to do with everything! His death! Our father\'s death. Everything had something to do with you!" She added.
Oyue felt something ringing in her ear. She felt warm flushes all over her body. It was quite a long time since she got to experience that kind of sensation. Her anger had already boiled over. Her brows furrowed and she was gritting her teeth.
She looked at her sister straight in her eyes, then suddenly her abode started to shake violently. She raised her hand, then summoned her spear and as the weapon began to appear, her celestial dress was slowly replaced by her battle armor.
"Don\'t do this, sister." Apholak pleaded with her. "Don\'t do this or else I will be forced to chain you as well." He warned.
Oyue\'s eyes glowed brightly, "You can try, brother. But it won\'t do anything on me." She answered as she approached her sister. "Can you please remove that chain from her, brother? If she wanted a fight, I will give her one. And please don\'t try to interrupt, or you will see how ineffective your ability is against mine.." She glanced at him before heading forward to Chandara.
