Chapter 375 372- Battle At The Southern Border: Lihua Vs Ji Niu (1)
Within the stands, Long Feng sat there motionless as the golden light from the stage obscured his vision for a brief moment.
After the light faded away, his once expressionless face behind his veil hat was now filled with shock.
“Isn’t this Karma? How could this brat have the ability to use Karma?!”
Long Feng’s head buzzed as he couldn’t believe what he had just witnessed.
First, it was that weird person with his odd Wood Qi, and now it was this brat with the ability to seemingly manipulate Karma. A skill Long Feng himself had only ever read about in his clan but never heard or seen anyone use personally.
“Just what the hell is this place exactly? How could there be people like them in this backwater sub-region?’
No, it wasn’t that Long Feng was seeing geniuses comparable to those from his Central Continent, but because he was seeing them gathered as that thief\'s friends.
Long Feng’s face sported a deep frown, he was rather discontent with this fact.
As more and more people began filing back into the battle arena, discussions on what just occurred began to take place. But everyone reiterated the same thing. After being blinded by the bright golden light, they recovered to see Wu Kai coughing out a mouth full of blood.
As for the ones who manage to see what happened before the bright golden light, they explained the scene of Jun moving at high speeds to tap Wu Kai’s chest with a single finger.
“Who is that white hair youth? He managed to prevent Wu Kai from going berserk with only one finger?”
“Wait, doesn’t that mean he defeated Wu Kai in less than two moves?”
A few people in the audience hearing this wore blank expressions.
On the stage, Jun helped Wu Kai over to Ji Mei and the others.
Shi Lei stepped forward and took Wu Kai from him.
“Since this wasn’t really a match, let’s call this a draw. After brother Wu Kai wakes up maybe we could continue where we left off.”
Jun cupped his fist towards them and then went to leave, but Shi Lie suddenly stopped him.
“Wait, what did you just do to him?”
Jun didn’t hide anything and said.
“From the moment I met brother Kai, I saw that there was two opposing force clashing within his body. I only help restore some balance to those forces, but I apologize since my ability was quite limited to help him resolve it completely.”
After listening to Jun, Shi Lei went silent. He then looked at Jun seriously and said.
“You have no idea how much you have helped my friend. Ever since he was born he would lose control of himself. Because people couldn’t understand his situation he was bullied and treated as an outcast all his life.”
“I-”
Jun waved his hand and wanted to say he barely helped, but Shi Lei shook his head and cut him off.
“Even if you only help a little, it’s a favor both Wu Kai and I as his childhood friend would never forget.”
Jun scratched his cheek a little embarrassed by Shi Lei\'s sincerity. He cupped his fist once again and hurriedly left the stage.
Before long, Ji Niu leaped onto the stage and her eyes casually swept across Lihua, who without hesitation followed suit.
“Sister Lihua, promise to please go easy on Niu’er.”
Ji Niu said bashfully.
With an indifferent expression, Lihua responded.
“I have no intention to make a promise I won’t keep.”
Ji Niu pouted at that and then said.
“I get the feeling sister Lihua doesn’t like Niu’er, I wonder why?
“Is it because…”
Ji Niu’s figure suddenly vanished in a gust of wind.
“…I did something wrong?”
Ji Niu had somehow appeared behind Lihua and whispered those words in her ears.
Lihua retreated while spinning around, but she saw no one behind her.
“Is sister Lihua looking for me?”
Ji Niu was like the wind as she silently appeared next to Lihua. In her hand were two crescent wind blades, which she attacked Lihua in a crisscross manner.
After taking a step back, Lihua dodged Ji Niu’s wind blades. However, two slashes appeared in her robes, evident she hadn’t dodged them completely.
Ji Niu turned to attack once more, but Lihua had swished her sleeves releasing a silk ribbon towards her.
The attack was well-timed and seemed to have caught Ji Niu off-guard, however, the ribbon simply past through Ji Niu’s forehead.
The ribbon had only managed to destroy her afterimage.
Ji Niu appeared behind Lihua on one-legged and stabbed out at her back.
Lihua frowned at Ji Niu’s speed.
Realizing she could not dodge Ji Niu’s attack in this position, Lihua didn’t hesitate to release her Qi Domain.
A powerful force pushed back Ji Niu disrupting her attack. But then a blue radiance burst from Lihua\'s figure to envelop most of the stage.
Ji Niu block the shock wave-like attack, but after recovering she looked around to realize her entire surroundings were filled with sparkling blue radiance.
It seemed like she had been transported to another dimension, a water dimension.
Ji Niu looked around her surroundings curiously but was still on high alert.
Suddenly, a dark silhouette appeared behind her.
Ji Niu smirked and she moved, throwing one of her crescent wind blades at the dark silhouette. However, her face stiffened when her wind blade simply passed through the dark silhouette. With a splash, the dark silhouette turns out to be a water clone.
Distracted by this, Ji Niu missed the opportunity to dodge the silk ribbon aiming for her.
Like a whip, it made contact with her shoulder and ripped her robes and her skin beneath.
Ji Niu retreated and then looked at her shoulder before gritting her teeth.
“Sister Lihua, I can’t believe you ruined my robes. Do you know how much a paid for these? It wasn’t cheap at all.”
Ji Niu’s scanned the area with narrowed eyes.
She faintly heard the air behind her being torn apart. With an absurd amount of agility, she twisted her body out of the way before quickly grabbing onto the ribbon that whipped past her cheek, leaving a small trail of blood.
With a wide smile, Ji Niu\'s gaze was directed at the end of the ribbon.
“Got you.”
As she said that, Ji Niu\'s hand then blurred, and the second wind blade was sent out.
Ji Niu then moved in anticipation that Lihua would dodge her attack or retreat, but her face fell as she heard a familiar splash.
What attacked her was actually another water clone.
In the midst of her run, Ji Niu saw from the corner of her eye another ribbon flying towards her.
Ji Niu showed off her speed and reflexes once more as she leap up and spun to avoid the attack. Even as she was dodging she conjured two wind blades and send them flying towards the end of the ribbon.
But her face twitched in annoyance when she heard another water clone being destroyed.
“What is this technique?”
Upon landing, Ji Niu couldn’t help but ask aloud.
She thought this an ordinary cloaking technique, but now she was doubting her assumption.
Ji Niu sent out her Soul Sense to try and examine her surroundings in detail. However, her face fell as she realize her Soul Sense could barely extend to ten feet from her body.
Not only that, but Ji Niu also noticed after sending out her Soul Sense that all the elements were slowly being suppressed, especially her wind element. All while the water element in this place was growing more abundant to an obscured degree.
Upon realizing how disadvantageous her situation was, Ji Niu got nervous.
“Sister Lihua, to think you would have an ability like this, isn’t this too much for simply a sparring match?”
Ji Niu looked around herself as she spoke. When she heard nothing after a while, she decided she didn’t want to be in this place anymore.
The longer this went on, the more her wind element was going to be suppressed until she could barely conjure any wind blades or use any of her techniques.
Ji Niu’s figure blurred as she flew into the air, wanting to escape by flying out.
