Vol.3-Chapter 49 – Conspiracy
The shadows from Zhao Jiuge’s group were stretched long from the lanterns hung around the mountain.
After seeing them leave, Han Shaolong and Han Tianhu’s expression changed. The difference was that Han Tianhu’s expression was filled with pride, while Han Shaolong’s expression was a bit gloomy.
“Hmph, I have already told you many times to not show your emotions so easily. If you caused people to have doubts and messed up that senior’s order, not even Father would be able to bear the consequences.” Han Shaolong was not happy, and his gaze was still lingering toward the direction of the Wind Mountain Villa.
Facing his big brother’s scolding, Han Tianhu didn’t care at all and smiled. “Big Brother, aren’t I just happy that we have another Spirit Core Realm cultivator on the hook? These past few days, only weak cultivators have come to join the festivities. Less than half are at the Spirit Core Realm like that senior requested.”
“Quiet. Don’t speak about this matter outside. We will discuss it with our father later. It doesn’t matter if we don’t have enough, as long as things don\'t get revealed. There is still some time before the birthday celebration tomorrow, let’s wait a bit more.”
Han Shaolong said in a soft voice as he carefully looked around. He had some worries about this important matter but was also filled with expectation.
Han Tianhu still muttered about some stuff when some guests suddenly arrived. Han Shaolong glanced at Han Tianhu and then the two of them greeted the guests with warm smiles like before.
……
While walking up the Wind Mountain Villa and hearing the festive sounds, Peng Bo seemed to have forgotten about the cold treatment he had just received. He happily looked around, and when they encountered a powerful local cultivator, he told Zhao Jiuge who that was.
Zhao Jiuge noticed there were a lot of people here and that half were people from the Wind Mountain Villa. When he noticed their cultivation, he was shocked. There were over 100 people at the Spirit Transformation Realm and over a dozen at the Foundation Realm. Not to mention, these were just the people they used to greet others. There were even more cultivators who were staying as guests.
As for the other people, they had naturally come to participate in Villa Master Han’s birthday party. They either belonged to the local forces or were local rogue cultivators. Most of them didn’t have high cultivation—only a few people were at the Spirit Core Realm, and there wasn’t a single Nascent Soul Realm cultivator. That was normal because at the Nascent Soul Realm, they wouldn’t care about entering a rank-5 spirit vein.
Zhao Jiuge let out a sigh. The Wind Mountain Villa was indeed worthy of being a big force in the Yan Zhi Region. It was far stronger than the Mo family.
Although Villa Master Han’s birthday celebration was tomorrow, there were still a lot of festivities going on. There was music playing and there was plenty of spirit wine and spirit fruit for everyone to have. Some of the fake mountains in the area were lit up with lights, and there were female dancers dancing beside the lake. This made the Wind Mountain Villa look like a wonderland.
However, for some reason, Zhao Jiuge had no interest in any of this. Peng Bo wanted to go join the festivities; however, he was worried about Zhao Jiuge and didn’t immediately leave.
He had heard that anyone who came to celebrate Villa Master Han’s birthday would be treated as a guest no matter what their cultivation, but the treatment would not be the same.
Even the residents were divided into Jia, Yi, and Bing. When Han Shaolong commanded Zhang Da to leave them here, Peng Bo was listening very carefully. At the same time, he felt glad he had come with Zhao Jiuge. Otherwise, if he had come on his own, he would’ve been lucky to get a place in the Yi residence.
Along the way, San Wu remained silent. It was as if he had become a different person.
Soon, Zhao Jiuge’s group was brought to the back of the Wind Mountain Villa by Zhang Da. It was much more tranquil here, and the sound of the festivities had faded.
The center of the Wind Mountain Villa was a five-story pavilion, and it was the most lively place. The Jia Courtyard was behind the five-story pavilion, and there was a strip with a lot of houses.
The people brought here were all at least at the Spirit Core Realm. After leading them here, Zhang Da respectfully told them that if they needed anything, just tell him. Zhao Jiuge found San Wu a bit strange and quickly entered the room. He wanted to ask San Wu what was going on.
The moment they entered, they all saw the brilliance of the room. Even Peng Bo was shocked. All the materials contained some spiritual attribute, and the bronze incense furnace had some incense that helped calm the mind.
If there was something abnormal, then something had to be wrong!
Even Zhao Jiuge noticed that something was wrong. Allowing people to enter the spirit vein to temper their bodies due to a birthday was understandable. However, the cost of inviting so many people here was somewhat strange. If they had only invited the local forces to form closer bonds, it would’ve made sense, but they were clearly welcoming anyone who was a cultivator.
Zhao Jiuge turned toward San Wu, and San Wu also looked toward Zhao Jiuge. Both saw doubt in each other\'s eyes. Although San Wu was rather simple, that didn’t mean he was stupid—he was throughtful and observant like Zhao Jiuge.
Pei Su Su didn’t care about it at all. Even if she knew the cause, she wouldn\'t mind. She had never been afraid of anything, on the contrary, she couldn’t wait to find something fun.
“Big Brother Zhao and Big Sister-in-law, I’m going out to play now. It\'s very lively outside, I’ll see you all tomorrow.”
Hearing the music and lively sounds from the distance, Peng Bo could no longer endure it. After saying his goodbyes to Zhao Jiuge’s group, he left with his servants toward the pavilion.
There were several rooms in this courtyard, so he was not worried about having a place to stay. Looking at the playful Peng Bo, Zhao Jiuge couldn’t help sigh. He was indeed a good-for-nothing young master that wouldn’t amount to much.
However, it was good that Peng Bo had temporarily left, because they had something to talk about. The three of them sat down around the table, and before Zhao Jiuge could ask, San Wu spoke up first.
“There is something strange here.” San Wu’s expression was a bit serious. He was very different from his usual self.
Looking at San Wu, who was younger than him, Zhao Jiuge felt like he was seeing an illusion. He felt that under San Wu’s simple and youthful appearance, there was a very calm heart.
“Strange? At most, it’s some small farts. I hope there is something to make this more lively. It’s best that the Wind Mountain Villa is up to something evil. I wonder if they are here to kill and plunder or have other motives.”
Pei Su Su’s beautiful face was filled with disdain. She was very smart and naturally noticed all the strangeness, but she simply didn’t care.
Zhao Jiuge was shocked silly. It turned out that he was the last one to figure it out. Both of them had already noticed the problem!
“It’s not like that. There is really danger this time, and I don’t know what the danger is. It wasn’t particularly strong when we headed up here, but now that we are here, it is very strong.” San Wu saw Pei Su Su’s attitude and became anxious.
He wouldn’t let his identity slip so easily. Zhao Jiuge and Pei Su Su both thought he was very weak, and he was happy to play along. He was afraid that once they learned of his identity and cultivation, they would be on guard against him. Although he had no ill intent and just wanted to know how Zhao Jiuge knew the Sanskrit Divine Body, he didn’t want to cause his efforts to go in vain. However, if someone who cultivated the Buddhist path felt danger, it wouldn’t just be some small matter.
“Thinking about it, everything would make sense on its own, but when they all happen at once it seems wrong. Why is the Mountain Wind Villa doing this? For nothing? There is no love without reason, and there are no free meals in this world.”
Zhao Jiuge couldn’t figure it out either. Everything seemed normal but also didn\'t make sense. When Zhao Jiuge said there was no love without reason, Pei Su Su rolled her eyes and glared at him.
“Who cares? We’ll deal with it when it comes. We’ll know what they have planned tomorrow, during the birthday. I hope something unexpected happens so that there is a good show to watch.”
Pei Su Su spoke like she just wanted to see more chaos in this world.
“Good point. Everything that will come will come. We’ll know the truth tomorrow.” San Wu let out a sigh and still felt a bit strange. He secretly thought that no matter what happened in the end, the three of them should be able to deal with it. The Chief Head Disciple of the Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect, himself, and Pei Su Su. If he wasn’t wrong about Pei Su Su’s relationship with Pei Songtao, then her background was no worse than his and Zhao Jiuge’s, so he wasn’t too worried.
Pei Su Su glanced at San Wu and said in a strange tone, teasing him, “Oh? This good-for-nothing that only knows how to eat can have a serious expression like this? Where did the cute and simple monk go? Be careful, or big sister might not like you anymore.”
Zhao Jiuge shook his head with a smile. Su Su only knew how to bully San Wu for fun.
Even though San Wu’s heart was as calm as water, even his expression couldn’t help but change after hearing Su Su’s words. His face was distorted—he couldn’t smile, he couldn’t cry, and he couldn’t remain expressionless either.
Outside, the courtyard was very lively.
Late at night.
In the bright pavilion, there were a few figures nervously moving around.
This pavilion was the main house of the Han family and where the master of the villa cultivated. It was not as gorgeous as the five-story pavilion, but it had its own charm.
At this moment, this pavilion was completely sealed by the people of the Wind Mountain Villa, preventing anyone from entering or leaving.
After the Wind Mountain Villa’s rapid growth, not only had the people worshiping the Villa Master as their teacher increased, but even more rogue cultivators were willing to join them. They wanted resources and a backing. Which cultivator wasn’t struggling to become stronger?
At this moment, although the inside of the pavilion was bright, there was not a single figure inside.
The four figures inside had already arrived at the secret, underground room. It was clear they had some important matters to discuss.
