Chapter 29 - Party Time
CHAPTER 29
"We haven\'t won yet and she can claim back what rightly belongs to her and the Mafia families would follow her," Zale completed for his father.
"Good. Glad you know that son. I am putting you in charge. Find me Jade Nova Frost and I would name you President of the Anders Group."
"I won\'t let you down father."
"Search all other cites as well, do not narrow your search only to this city and rule out any possible option. Not until we find her, all options must be checked."
"Yes, father. I will not disappoint you."
Zale\'s face lit up at the task that was personally handed over to him by his father. This was perfect. It was his chance to be in charge, just like he had always wanted.
___
It had been two weeks now and Jade was well invested in her business, acting as the newly employed financial assistant manager of the company.
Up until now, she had refused to disclose her identity to anyone as the real owner of the business and gave her help in meetings as the Assistant Financial Manager.
As much as Macy complained and nudged her, she wouldn\'t budge and kept on telling her it wasn\'t the right time.
A month later and it was still the same thing, no news about the man who had assaulted her lips that day and she had grown her business and took it to a new level in the business world, further bringing in more investors.
On one of these occasions, she and Macy went out to have fun and celebrate the new success of their company.
They decided to go to a bar to drink and have some fun at the party, blending in like normal people.
By the time they got to the first floor of the club, Jade and Macy had woven their way past the many youngsters having fun on the dance floor and swaying their bodies to the rhythm of the beats.
The first floor was full of people with neon lights shining on the dance floor illuminating the poorly lit room.
On different ends of the club where small booths were some guys and girls were drinking and kissing with several bottles of drinks and cups on the glass table in front of them.
At the far end towards the centre, there was a big bar with several bottles of drinks stocked up and glass cups ready for use.
Two young guys were behind the counter serving up drinks to the long queue of customers placing their orders.
In no time they took the staircase leading to the second floor and arrived at the entrance of the high-class bar.
Jade pulled Macy back by her arm and whispered into her ears, "I thought we were having the nights to ourselves away from these high and mighty rich bastards," Jade probed.
"Chill girl. Yes, we are, but the first floor is too cramped up for us to enjoy ourselves. And this isn\'t really the place for the very high and mighty rich bastards like you said. It\'s just where the young middle aged businessmen\'s children come to hang out. The place you are talking about and should dread is up."
As she spoke, her eyes looked up and her fingers pointed up as well, gesturing for Jade to get the point.
"Up?" Jade made a face to show she was not getting her.
Yes, up."
"I heard you, Macy. What is up? Is there any other thing up there that you are pointing at?" Jade asked. Her hands crossed in front of her chest as she gave her friend the \'spill\' look.
"Don\'t give me that look, besides it is safe. The big sharks don\'t come down where the small sharks are to play and eat," Macy said with a shrug, behaving as though it wasn\'t a big deal.
"Macy!"
"Okay, ease up girl. I know I lied, but forgive me, this place is one of the best in town and they are particularly known because of their exquisite taste in serving good drinks to their customers. Ignore the shady look out there, their second and top floor holds the best secrets upon secrets."
As Macy talked, she seemed to light up with each word that fell out of her mouth. She was already anticipating the fun and everything she was going to enjoy that night.
Seeing her cheerful and bubbling self, Jade could not help but shake her head at her enthusiastic friend.
It wasn\'t that Jade did not like good drinks or going to an expensive place and enjoying the time with her friends, it was just that right now she was still undercover and was not looking forward to bumping into the big sharks yet.
Till now she had not gotten over the events of the other day and did not tell Macy about it so that she won\'t worry.
"Hey babe," Macy called out to her when she noticed her mind had drifted off, pulling her out from her thoughts.
"Huh? Yes?"
"Relax, no big shark would eat you while I am here," Macy said reassuringly but the smile on her face did little to help ease her mind.
"You are not helping with that look on your face, Macy."
"Hahaha, sorry."
"By the way, where is the way upstairs to the top floor?"
