Chapter 645 - Back-stabbing Isn’t Nice

Chapter 645: Back-stabbing Isn’t Nice

The following morning, photographs of Fu Yao getting kicked out of the press conference were all over the internet. It was the sort of gossip people were after.

“Why is that bitch still around? Isn’t SE Entertainment going to anything? They just let her do that?”

“I heard that she’s got some rich sugar daddy and she’s not working for SE Entertainment anymore. Or she wouldn’t be allowed to show her face in front of Xia Ning.”

“How dare she call Xia Ning heartless? And what about that ‘Sister Xia Ning’ talk? She didn’t call Xia Ning sister when she stole her role. That woman is disgusting. I don’t want to see her ever again.”

“If you ask me, Poser Fu is either an idiot or has been hired by someone to trash Xia Ning. Just a thought.”

Xia Ning couldn’t be bothered to follow the news on Fu Yao. She knew perfectly well how things would turn out for her.

She was supposed to go to an event today, but since she didn’t see Enoch the whole day yesterday, she canceled the job and stayed home.

Xia Ning saw Gao Wanhua talking to someone on the sofa before she reached the first floor. She paused. Did they have a visitor?

Xia Ning stopped and was ready to go back to her room because she didn’t want others to know she was here. However, she paused again when she heard a familiar voice.

“Sister, you have to help me out.” Gao Lihua said earnestly to Gao Wanhua.

Looking at her sister, Gao Wanhua sighed. “You know how it is with business. I don’t call the shots.”

“But Yu will listen to you,” said Gao Lihua immediately. She pleaded. “Sister, I know I did bad things in the past and you have every right to be mad. But we’ll be ruined if you don’t help me this time.”

Gao Wanhua frowned when she saw how haggard her sister looked. “Shen Donglai hasn’t been kind to you. Is it worth it to help him like this?”

“No matter what kind of person he is, he’s still my husband and the father of my child. He can’t get rid of me. I won’t let him walk away with another woman.” Gao Lihua snorted and there was a merciless look in her eyes.

Gao Wanhua sipped her coffee in silence.

Gao Lihua went on. “If we lose the lawsuit, my child will lose everything. Sister, you’re a mother too. I’m sure you can understand.”

“You need to talk to Yu.” Gao Wanhua put her cup down and shook her head at her sister. “There’s nothing I can do.”

“But why?” Gao Lihua was agitated. “I’m her aunt and my husband is his uncle. Is Yu going to do nothing about our predicament? I just don’t understand. Has my husband offended Yu somehow? He went to the old Shen family house to deliver a message for you and out of the blue, he severed all ties with the Shen family.”

Deliver a message for her? Gao Wanhua’s eyes flickered. She recalled the date of the event, then realized what it was about.

“The Qiao family won’t interfere with the Shen family’s business,” said Gao Wanhua indifferently. “Plus, you’re the ones who owe a debt. Pay it back and you’ll be at peace.”

Gao Lihua stared at Gao Wanhua in disbelief. How could her sister say that?

“Sister, that’s easy for you to say. We Shen family isn’t as abundant as your Qiao family. Do you know how much money that Xia Ning wants from us? She’s going to empty our vault!” said Gao Lihua indignantly. “She’s the evilest woman I’ve ever known.”

The frown on Gao Wanhua’s forehead grew bigger. She was going to retort when a woman’s voice came from the stairs.

“I’m evil? I have a right to that money. What’s wrong with taking it back? Mrs. Shen, back-stabbing isn’t a nice thing to do.”
