Chapter 451: Fraud in War
Chapter 451: Fraud in War
Fraud in War . . .
After a brief pause, several assassins grew apprehensive that Cha Eun Xiao might actually meet his end at the hands of those who sought to claim the bounty. Therefore, they cautiously inched forward, determined to intervene.
"How dare you? Watch my deadly poison!" Cha Eun Xiao proclaimed, waving his hand in a dramatic manner.
This time, the onlookers awkwardly retreated once again.
To the assailants engaging Cha Eun Xiao, this was perplexing. They began to question the situation. "What is this? A ruse? Are they all pretending? He just yelled 'poison,' and suddenly, thousands of assassins trembled in unison and withdrew."
Despite their confusion, they couldn't help but think that something seemed amiss.
Several of them cautiously moved closer, effectively encircling Cha Eun Xiao.
"Watch my poison!" Cha Eun Xiao declared once more.
The crowd hesitated but did not retreat this time.
They fixed their gaze on Cha Eun Xiao, their expressions hardening as they surmised that his supply of poison might have been depleted, that he was merely stalling.
Some muttered to themselves in frustration, "Bastard. He's run out of poison now. He's bluffing, buying time."
"Motherfxcker," another said, "What a prick. He's played these tricks several times. Those who've just arrived have nearly pushed him into a corner, but it was just a hair's breadth from killing him. How lucky!"
"What if they'd actually killed him when that prick was bluffing us? That would be regrettable!"
Cha Eun Xiao tried once more, exclaiming, "Watch my..."
No one budged, no one backed away this time.
They simply glared at Cha Eun Xiao with an air of defiance.
Cha Eun Xiao couldn't help but smirk. He waved his hand and proclaimed, "Watch my super poison!"
The first assassin who had been rushing forward snarled, "Watch your ass, you cxnt! Come on, spread your fxcking poison now! Let me see what you've got!"
However, the moment Cha Eun Xiao unleashed his next wave, the assassin's expression shifted dramatically. His face contorted into a grim mask of despair.
A dark fog genuinely erupted, catching the assassins who were pressing forward.
"Itch... Itchy..."
Simultaneously, the assassins who had been relentlessly attacking Cha Eun Xiao let out agonizing screams and then began frantically scratching themselves.
"Itch..."
Muffled moans filled the air. One assassin wearing a black mask found himself itching and was seized by fear. Recalling the fate of the previous group of attackers, he was overcome with dread, tears streaming down his face.
He had witnessed the gruesome end that befell his comrades and couldn't help but imagine his own impending doom.
"I was wrong... Feng Monarch... Please, show mercy... Please, I beg for mercy. Save me... Ahh..."
One man scratched his body and face, beseeching for his life. He dropped to his knees, kowtowing to Cha Eun Xiao and pleading, "Help me... Please... Help me..."
Cha Eun Xiao cast an icy, unrelenting gaze upon him, surveying the scene of chaos. Everyone was writhing in agony, scratching themselves frantically. In his eyes, there was nothing but coldness and a palpable sense of impending doom.
Some of the assassins tried desperately not to scratch their itching skin, resorting to martial arts in an attempt to expel the poison from their bodies. But this poison was not an ordinary one; it originated from a higher realm and was created by Brother Egg within the Space. Their meager cultivation abilities were wholly inadequate to purge it. After a brief effort, they couldn't resist the overwhelming urge to scratch, indulging in the eerie comfort it provided.
After a while, the number of lifeless bodies had risen, surpassing the previous group in sheer quantity.
Those who had survived and initially harbored the intent to end Cha Eun Xiao's life collectively took several steps back. Fear was etched across their faces.
To them, Cha Eun Xiao was no longer merely a man; he was a demon from an age long past.
With two waves of his hand, over a thousand assassins from around the world lay dead.
"What on earth was that?" they whispered among themselves.
"What kind of poison is this?" Their ignorance was unmistakable, for they had never encountered such a ferocious and devastating toxin.
The renowned Poison King, Poison Queen, Poison Monarch, and Poison Master of the Land of Han-Yang appeared utterly insignificant in comparison. They were not even fit to be servants in Cha Eun Xiao's presence. It was overwhelming.
Meanwhile, on a nearby rooftop, Ning Biluo and Zhao Pingtian were equally astounded.
"When did Monarch acquire such an unimaginable poison?" Ning Biluo mused aloud. "We should have known earlier. A master dan-maker who can craft supreme dan beads—how difficult would it be for him to create supreme poison beads? He possesses the power to grant life as well as take it. One in, one out. It's always easier to kill than to save, isn't it?"
Zhao Pingtian nodded in agreement.
"Feng Zhiling, you're far too ruthless!" A masked figure in black rebuked, a mix of fear and anger in his voice. "We're all individuals of the martial world. Must you employ such a merciless method? Are you not afraid of divine retribution?"
The assassin's words left the onlookers unsettled.
A shadowy figure emerged and delivered a resounding slap to the black-masked man's face.
It was Boundless Saint.
"As an assassin, you either kill or be killed!" Boundless Saint asserted harshly. "In this war of life and death, everyone may employ any means at their disposal to kill their adversaries. You're an assassin, yet you utter such words. You shame us all!"
"That's right!" On the other side, Liu Changjun chimed in. "Boundless Saint, this is the first time you've said something that makes sense. These individuals are tarnishing the reputation of assassins, a profession considered sacred and honorable! Death would be too easy for him. He should be dismembered slowly before meeting his end, and every member of his clan should be executed!"
The assassins exchanged uneasy glances.
"Assassins? Sacred and honorable? Is that truly what we stand for?" they wondered, their beliefs and convictions shaken.
