Chapter 64 Counter Strike

Zora and Zena weaved in and out of the wreckage with astonishing speed.

Zena, the elf who threw a survivor into the jaws of a flying creature moments before, immediately drew her sword.

Small whimpers escaped the quivering mouth of the elderly woman in the other elf\'s arms.

She was terrified. Now that she knew how ruthless the dark elves would be, she didn\'t want to say anything that could cause them to kill her sooner.

So instead of pleading, she simply prayed that another winged beast didn\'t reach them.

BOOOOOM!

A massive wave of broken concrete flew at the two like shrapnel.

Kargon, the titan, thrashed around from its missing eye, and it crushed a massive wall around them.

"Freyer\'s Blade!" The dark elf with the sword yelled while slashing down. (Norse God of Elves)

A massive golden ark of light shot across the debris-stricken road.

It was thirty feet high and incinerated everything with golden flames.

"GAHHHHHHH! HUMANS!"

The arc ripped through half of the titan\'s hand, leaving it flapping on the side.

A tidal wave of blood washed over the area as it waved its hand in pain.

"Diving Clot!" A fairy flying through the sky yelled out.

A massive white ark shot through the blood, instantly coagulating half of the tidal wave.

Her name was Fritz, and she was a legitimate fairy with fluttering wings. She wore a stylish, golden silk romper, proof that modern fairies didn\'t fly around exposing their panties to the world.

The woman was small, only two feet tall. She could fly but couldn\'t carry anyone because of her size.

However, she flew through the battlefield, healing the retrieval team and drivers that saved them.

"SCREEEEECH!"

A bat closed in on her. She immediately ducked out of the way with divine elegance and flew into the wreckage.

Her size allowed her to get anywhere on the battlefield, avoiding monsters and air creatures alike.

Like the elves, she had innate mana reserves and had lived for over a century. Her skill was unmatched by the savage creatures.

Fritz wouldn\'t have lived so long if she frivolously protected others at the risk of her life. She was healing the party because she wanted them to protect her in the future.

The fairy had a support class designed for living with parties, and she currently didn\'t have one. So she was mostly defenseless and knew Leon\'s army was the place to be.

Therefore, she was earning their respect, and it was working.

Meanwhile, the retrieval team members and combat classes weren\'t waiting around to die.

"Weaving Light!" Cynthia whispered.

Six purple arrows made of light flew from a bow Cynthia summoned. The projectiles weaved in and out of support pillars and walls to hit their targets.

While her power was spacial magic, the woman was an elf with innate magical power. She was also 379 years old and a battle-worn veteran.

She was truly remarkable.

A massive fireball illuminated the sky for all to see.

"ScRrEeEeEeEeEeEeEeCcHh!"

It greeted a wall of bats flying over the battlefield\'s east side, lighting them on fire.

Klash, an orc, unleashed the vicious attack on the group after jumping onto a pillar.

Her people lived for battle, and she lived life to the fullest.

One human woman, in particular, was single-handedly changing the face of the battlefield.

Her hair was braided on both sides, and two larger braids hung over her shoulders. Her chest was encased in leather armor, and her boots were equally practical.

She took a deep breath and let out a screech.

"SKEEEEEERRRRKKKK!"

It was a surreal sound to hear coming from a human. However, she followed the sound with another.

"SCRIIIIIIIIIIEEK!

Two very different sounds that didn\'t belong to the human race filled the battlefield.

"SKEEEEEERRRRKKKK!"

A massive bird twenty feet high that looked similar to a Gryphon appeared. She immediately jumped on it to greet two dozen abnormally huge bat-like creatures flying toward her.

"Kik Kik Ki SCRIIII!"

She clicked her tongue a few times and screeched. Not a moment later, the bats flew to the south toward the direction they came from.

"Hey! Why the fuck aren\'t they attacking the women!?" A man yelled.

He had barely made it over the chasm and caught up to the battle sight when a dozen massive bats weaved in and out of arrows to attack him.

"FUCK! GET AWAY! AHHHGGGGUUUH!"

The one bat picked him up, and two more ripped into his throat with their canine-like jaws.

She watched in the distance as the bats tore through dozens of unsuspecting men.

They weren\'t prepared for the coordinated bats that attacked as teams and disregarded normal beast-like behavior.

The woman\'s name was Kern, and she could identify creatures, speak to them, and order them to do her bidding.

Unlike Mason the Beast Emperor, whom Leon unceremoniously clubbed to death with a street sign, the woman chose a skill that made her a general.

It was a far more nuanced skill that changed the power and might of her power.

Kern and the four other beast tamers had an important job—with the reward for most candidates and survivors killed or consumed.

She was using that skill by sending monsters to stop the men who made it over the chasm and eat the dying survivors that wouldn\'t make it.

That was every survivor to the south, and the woman had no mercy. She was racking up wild numbers on both fronts with a thin smile on her face.

,m Since there were countless monsters, and they were ranked by party, the number of people that group could kill was minimal.

With her power alone, they could take the prize and do so with a practical purpose.

The only barrier was Kargon and Monitus, the titans, but Leon, Caitlyn, Tricksie, and Lindy were fighting them in the distance.

The woman was a warrior who thrived on her new lust for battle. Moreover, she got a notification telling her she had been rewarded ten gifts.

The exact number was muted, but the gods notified people of milestones to convince them to stay on the battlefield.

Driven by greed and bloodlust, she was determined to sow the seeds of destruction on the road to paradise.

On the other side of the battlefield, another war was raging.

The obsidian-skinned titan, Montius, did not idly standby as Kargon got thrashed with magical attacks.

He stood up while the others were busy, crushing many candidates and survivors in a landslide.

The titan just living was a massive problem.

Taking a knee, bracing himself with his hand, and stepping to gain footing were all mundane tasks humanoids had to take to get up.

However, every motion caused minor landslides and earthquakes. So long as Monitus was standing, most candidates had no hope of escaping.

Leon wasn\'t going to stand idly as the two caused major chaos. However, he wasn\'t approaching the situation haphazardly.

If Caitlyn slashed one of their throats and succeeded in killing them, they could fall onto the road, killing countless candidates and survivors and creating a wall to climb.

It was a death sentence.

The key to fighting the titans was Tricksie.

She had three tailor-made qualities that were perfect for fighting the titans.

First, she could shrink them into a more manageable size.

While it took significant mana to shrink a bus with fifty people in it, a complex operation, the power it took to shrink a regular object was far lower.

That wasn\'t to imply it was simple. Tricksie would need a mana recovery potion per titan to get them down to fifty feet.

So they needed to get to one off the battlefield.

Her second remarkable feature was her ability to inflict massive blunt-force trauma at scale. It wasn\'t apparent to most, but it was something that Leon immediately picked up on.

"Caitlyn, take us down to that iron support beam!" Leon ordered, "Tricksie! Here\'s what I need from you."

Manka grabbed a massive seagull by the hands, brought it to her mountainous chest, and squeezed in a death hug.

CRRAAAACCCKK!

The avian creature snapped an unruly number of times, its eyes exploded from its skull, and its body fell limp.

The snake woman then wound her hand back and threw the beast 50 feet over a fallen building, smashing another bird from the sky.

Manka grinned in delight at her overwhelming strength. However, she saw something the next moment nearly caused her mind to snap.

Caitlyn, her newfound interest, flew straight up to the titan without her scythe.

She had distance attacks and a creepy weapon she could [feel] from a distance. So seeing her up close without using either confused Manka.

It only took her a moment to realize that Caitlyn wasn\'t the person she should be paying attention to.

Tricksie wound her hand back, just as Manka had done before. The next second—

BOOM!

A massive support beam for a 20-foot building materialized out of thin air, smashing the Monitus in the eye at 180 mph.

"GAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Montitus roared while tipping backward while holding his eyes.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

He fell over the walled area, smashing buildings and hundreds of monsters.

Manka\'s eyes glittered when she saw the scene.

"Damn. There\'s some seriously fuckin\' strong people here." She laughed, "They got brains, too. I just crush shit. I should\'ve asked for something better."

Leon wasn\'t as enthused about the sight.

"Tch! They better give us those kills." Leon scoffed.

That was the only thing on his mind when he saw hundreds of monsters die.

"Because we\'ve unleashed hell." He added bitterly.

The titan fell over the fire ditch, creating a bridge for the beasts and demons to use.
