Chapter 387 Duskbloom Sanctum

Chapter 387  Duskbloom Sanctum

"At least, we should be able to get one done." She tried to console herself while battling waves of nerve wracking nervousness.

As she was pacing in her room, a knock sounded against the enchanted door. With a single thought, she unlocked it and it swung open, revealing Mirabel.

"Vera, he\'s arrived on the continent. I\'ve sent out a few messengers to meet up with him. We need to go." Mirabel said with a neutral expression.

"I understand. Let\'s hurry before he is noticed by my Father\'s goons." Vera nodded and put a serious expression over her face.

Together, the two women, along with a sizeable entourage of A ranks followed several secret teleportation formations to arrive at the edge of Rivera where they could meet up with Leon.

Whoosh!

The sound of water pounding against rocks flooded Vera\'s ears for a short moment before she adjusted. The ground was damp and the air was cool and fresh. They had appeared behind a waterfall where water fell and formed a river that led to the ocean.

"He\'s waiting above the waterfall." Mirabel said. The A rank members of the rebellion formed a tight perimeter around Vera and Mirabel as they emerged from the waterfall and rose above it. They were immediately greeted by the sight of roughly fifteen A ranks sitting at the bank of the river that flowed to form the waterfall.

Everyone present was wearing their enchanted robes with hoods so Leon and the others were not able to identify them at once.

Vera\'s eyes sharpened as they focused on Leon. At the same time, he looked at her, singling her out from all the others.

.

.

Leon stood up with a light grunt as the robed figures approached. His eyes quickly scanned through them. He was not able to see through the powerful enchantments that were woven through the threads that were used to make the robes. However, his intuition pointed him to one figure that was toward the middle of the people approaching him.

"Your Excellency, Leon. I greet you." The figure that he was staring at floated forward and greeted him with a bow of their head. The voice was scrambled and hollow sounding thanks to the effect of the robe, so he could not tell if it was the Elven princess that was speaking to him.

"Hello." Leon replied as he stared at the robed figure. "The letters I received sounded rather urgent. What is it you asked me to come all the way over here for?" He went straight to business.

"Before I tell you, I have a question."

"Ask away." Leon shrugged.

"Very well. If you were to choose between supporting the Elves and other people that are being oppressed because of the impurity of their blood, or supporting those who oppress them, who will you chose? Answer truthfully, we have many ways to tell if you are lying, even if you are as powerful as you are." The person asked.

Leon paused, he was not exactly expecting that. But the answer was quite simple too. "I will support those who are being oppressed. Racism is a rather... stupid thing, in my opinion. I\'m not sorry if that offends you." Leon replied simply, not hesitating for the slightest moment.

"I see." The robed figure nodded slightly and turned to the person beside them.

"He speaks the truth." The person relayed and the first one nodded again.

"Very well, then, Your Excellency, please follow us." The robed figures all took to the air again and turned around, leaving Leon and the others to follow them. They quickly descended and returned to the hidden cavern behind the waterfall. With a flash of light, everyone vanished.

At the same time, a shadow flickered and around the waterfall and tried to chase after the group, but when it passed the waterfall, it only ran into solid earth.

"Strange... Did they use illusion magic to block the path?" A Peak A rank mental wave washed over the wall but was unable to find anything. "Or did they use an illusion to mask their retreat, leading me here?" The shadow\'s hidden face contorted in anger at being tricked before vanishing.

Ten minutes after it had left, the wall shifted and morphed, turning into a smaller figure that was made of stone.

"Idiot." The Stone Golem that had morphed its body to fill up the space where the teleportation formation was scoffed and waved its hand, using Earth magic to fill up the space properly.

At the last moment, before the space was entirely filled, he stepped onto the formation and followed after Vera and the others. He was a very old being that was in service of Princess Vera. With his knowledge and strength, it was not hard to mimic a simple rock and hide from the senses of multiple powerful A ranks.

.

.

On the other end, Leon felt the familiar sensation of being teleported through space and time. The sensation only lasted a few short moments before it washed away. Leon blinked and his eyes instantly adjusted to the change in environment.

"Where is this?" He asked, looking around.

"Welcome to the heart of the rebellion on the Elven continent. This base is known as the Duskbloom Sanctum." Vera stepped forward and pulled down her hood, revealing her stunning face. "I am Princess Vera Henisie, and I am grateful that you took your time to entertain me." She bowed slightly.

"Oh, it\'s no problem. As long as I get the remuneration that you promised, I don\'t have any issue." Leon waved. "But I didn\'t come alone. I also brought a few others." He turned to the side and waved forward a few people.
