Chapter 466 Kaladin vs Nero (3)

A distant rumble shook Leon out of his meditative state.

"What is that?" He mumbled to himself and cast a portion of his attention out of his castle, observing the state of his Divine Kingdom. But he was stunned when he saw the cause of the rumbling he had heard earlier. An entire portion of his Divine Kingdom was covered in craters and violent waves of Divine Energy.

"...Those damn fools! They should have gone outside if they wanted to spar!" Leon gritted his teeth and shook his head. But he did not interrupt his meditation to stop them. Instead, he carried on but continued to watch the battle through his split mind.

Kaladin saw that Nero had put up his best defense. An excited grin spread over his bony facial structure. The lightning at the tip of his Black Lightning Staff grew even darker as his excitement grew. He had not unleashed such a powerful all out attack at anyone before. His full powered attack from when he was a mortal could not even compare to a tenth of the power of this attack.

"FEEL MY THUNDER!" Kaladin exclaimed before unleashing his attack. Everything went dark as a powerful rumble shook the skies.

When the various beings watching regained their vision, a vast, blackened crater could be seen where Nero once stood. When they looked closer, they could make out movement in the crater.

"Ha...haha..." Nero\'s laughter broke the tension as he made himself known. His shields were in shambles, decimated by the powerful Black Lightning attack.

"You can no longer fight, Nero. Give up." Kaladin\'s voice sounded, strong and full of power. It was electric like the very lightning that snaked around him.

"You are right... But..." Nero trailed off.

At that moment, the dark clouds in the sky split apart, revealing a gargantuan blade made of red Divine Energy. It fell from the sky, splitting the very space in its way.

Kaladin stared up in shock, his jaw slack and his mouth wide open. He was about to use a teleportation technique to dodge the attack when Nero appeared right behind him out of nowhere, and wrapped his strong arms around Kaladin.

"Hahaha! Well played brother!" Kaladin laughed. Then his expression turned serious. "Now, let go before we both die!"

"Call me big brother." Nero said in response.

"I will not hand over my birthright!" Kaladin declared loudly and his body burst with lightning, trying to free himself from Nero\'s grasp.

"ENOUGH!"

All of a sudden, Leon\'s voice boomed all around them and the space in the Divine Kingdom trembled. Nero\'s attack crumbled into nothing as it was affected by Leon\'s own will. The Divine Kingdom itself suppressed the attack and snuffed out all the energy within it.

"Fix the place." Leon\'s voice ordered before vanishing and leaving the summons to themselves.

"..." Nero let go of Kaladin and the two of them shared a look.

"The Master is not happy." Kaladin sighed. "Our power must have proven to be inadequate. We are too weak!" Kaladin said, his voice oozing passion.

Nero looked at Kaladin strangely. "I think it is because of the mess we made." He gestured all around them at the craters and destroyed terrain.  At the same time, Grokus made himself known.

"I agree with Nero. You two might have gone overboard." Grokus rubbed his thick chin.

"You think?" Nero fixed the Orc God with a look.

"Where were you? Were you not supposed to be our referee?" Kaladin scolded Grokus, stepping hands held facing upwards in his lap. Between his hands, floating a few inches above them, a small 15:37

forward, his body crackling with lightning.

"Ahem. Well, you see. If I had stepped into those attacks of yours, then I would have been torn to shreds. I felt it was best I wait and step in when you two were out of steam." Grokus said.

"Those two and their stupid competitions." Leon sighed as he withdrew his focus from the site of the battle between the two Obsidian Skeletons. He returned his full focus to increasing his understanding of the Laws.

As Leon focused his time on his cultivation, the forces that had been prepared to combat against the Army of destruction moved into action. His own Undead Army was part of those forces, albeit not all of it. A good number of them went about, findings ways to increase their strength to an acceptable level  before going to fight.

The few Gods that had been revived also put their focus into regaining their former strength so that they could be of some use. Although their peak strength had dropped off a little, they would be able to regain it after a short time in combat.

That was not the only noteworthy thing that happened, though. The world of Datar was once again in an uproar as another bath of Gods emerged. This time, they belonged to different powers. But the most noteworthy thing about them was that among this batch of new Gods, a small number of them were rather special.

These newly ascended Gods were none other than the Ace Candidates that had been brought to Datar by some other Gods.

At the moment, only three Ace Candidates had ascended. Two of them had been selected by Tiphone while the last one was selected by Dardan. But all three of them were close and on good terms. This was why they gathered in the same place after making the breakthrough.

On a hidden island in the far northeast of Datar, a place thought to only be covered by a stretch of water. Not even Ursula, the Empress of Oceabal, knew of the existence of this island. After all, it was concealed by the Gods themselves. There was no way that mere mortals could see through the veil that obscured the island\'s presence.

"Dyson." A pink haired girl said as she stepped into a cave. The cave was well lit with bright yellow crystals embedded in the walls. A light, pleasant fragrance wafted out of the cave and into her nostrils.

She walked for some distance, passing some tunnels that veered off, before emerging in a central room that held some items. The room looked like a living quarters, with a small bed off to the side and some other amenities.

In the center of the room, a man with a lean build could be seen sitting in a cross legged position, his hands held facing upwards in his lap. Between his hands, floating a few inches above them, a small bright yellow-orange orb of energy hovered. It was like a miniature sun.
