Chapter 330 - 330: The Computer is Here
Chen MO and Xia Chen extracted three computers from the car’s trunk, situating them in their respective rooms. In a simultaneous move, Chen MO unpacked the latest TV.
With precision, Chen MO positioned the television at the center of the living room and manually tuned the channels. Their synchronized efforts culminated just as Yan Han emerged from the kitchen.
A delighted grin painted Yan Han’s face upon sight of Chen Mo. “Why keep your visit a secret? Today’s cooking wasn’t anything special.”
Chen MO assumed a compliant demeanor. “Auntie’s dishes are always delicious.
They surpass restaurant fare by far. It’s a pleasure to savor her cooking.”
Yan Han’s smile widened, basking in Chen Mots praise.
Meanwhile, Xia Chen felt a pang of unease. Something about Chen Mo’s actions didn’t sit well with him. He had observed Chen Mots elaborate displays of goodwill towards his sister and mother, even eliciting a brighter smile from his mother than he could recall receiving.
As Xia Wan headed to the restroom, Chen MO seized the opportunity. “Allow me to guide you with the computers,” he proposed to Xia Wan upon her return.
Xia Wan nodded, leading Chen MO to her study. The setup was optimized for her study sessions, the computer placed where she often worked.
Although proficient with computers in her previous life, this incarnation left Xia Wan unfamiliar. She feigned curiosity, absorbing Chen MO’s explanations attentively.
Chen MO recognized her sharpness, marveling at her quick grasp of the information. Suddenly, the study’s door swung open and Xia Chen strolled in.
Pretending eagerness to learn, he remarked, “I’m clueless about computers. Teach me as well.”
In truth, he worried about his sister’s safety around Chen Mo. As a man, he grasped male intentions well; such fervor often indicated attraction.
Seeing through Xia Chen’s motives, Chen MO remained unruffled. His affection for Xia Wan was real, yet nefarious thoughts were not part of his agenda.
His aspiration was to become Xia Wan’s lifelong partner, aiding her growth and tackling challenges together. Xia Chen’s hostility stemmed from Chen Mo’s earlier actions, necessitating further clarification.
Despite explaining this to Xia Wan, Chen MO persisted, comprehending the urgency behind Xia Chen’s concerns. He offered additional guidance, also installing some light-hearted games on Xia Chen’s computer to ease stress.
Chen Mo’s explanations were patient, his demeanor so accommodating that even Xia Chen refrained from pushing too hard. Their conversation paused only when Yan Han summoned them for dinner.
Noticing Xia Feng’s absence, Xia Wan inquired, “Mom, why isn’t Xia Feng back?”
Yan Han shared the news she had received, “One of his classmates came by.
The teacher spotted his artistic talent and selected him, along with two others, to create a blackboard drawing for the class.”
“He’ll return about an hour later.”
Joy glinted in Xia Wan’s eyes. “That’s fantastic! If Xia Feng excels in art, we can get him an art teacher during vacations to nurture his talent.”
Yan Han’s face fell as financial concerns arose, “Art studies can be costly.
Paints, brushes, all that. Buying materials can drain our budget for several meals. ”
Xia Wan dispelled those worries, stressing, “Our work earns money to better our lives. If we deny my brother opportunities due to finances, he might regret it forever.”
She continued, “I’m here to support our family financially. We won’t lack for money.”
Chen MO chimed in, his perspective comprehensive, “I know people in the art world. Xia Feng’s young, we can find him a basic tutor and assign practice to strengthen his foundation.”
“During breaks, we can visit renowned artists. If Xia Feng catches their attention and becomes their apprentice, he’ll have a significant future in art.’
Yan Han stood flabbergasted. Xia Wan and Chen Mo’s contemplation over a mere blackboard project showcased remarkable foresight..
