Chapter 289: Pei Xingnu

Chapter 289: Pei Xingnu

“Huh. Our settlement has been destroyed!”

The moment the palace’s providence core was broken by the Magma Monsters, the Musical House players on the red guqin ship all sensed it and put on complicated expressions.

Some were disappointed, some were silent, but most people were greatly relieved.

It was worth mentioning that after their settlement core was broken, the Musical House players realized that their field of view changed too and became dependent on their personal strength. Even “Boss Zhong”, who was the strongest of all, couldn’t see what was going on at the settlement core clearly.

“Huh, so to speak, our previous battle was completely a misunderstanding!”

“Since you have appeared in this place, your settlement can’t be far away, right?”

At this moment, the conversation between Yan Qing and Boss Zhong was over. Yan Qing turned around and looked at the others.

He offered an excuse for the battle between the Flood Dragons and the musical instruments.

“Truth be told, our settlement is right behind us. We adjoined an alien settlement half a month ago.

“Their settlement was of such a high level that we failed to resist after half a month of persistence. We had to abandon our settlement and evacuated on a ship... We thought that we would likely end up in fish stomachs on this boundless ocean and didn’t expect to meet the famous Twin Dragon Mount fort.”

None of the players talked, and they all looked at “Boss Zhong”.

Boss Zhong, on the other hand, said with his eyes flashing nonstop.

“Indeed we didn’t. We must’ve been blessed by the providence of mankind.

“The Twin Dragon Mount fort is the best settlement of human beings. You’ve built such an enormous warship. Captain Yan, we’d like to lead the way for you and capture the aliens in the rear once and for all!”

After Boss Zhong finished, the middle-aged suona player instantly spoke afterward.

“We human beings should help one another.”

After hearing what they said, Yan Qing nodded as if he were greatly enlightened.

“However, to declare war on an alien settlement is too serious a matter to be decided by me or Chief Ruan. We cannot make a decision until we ask Master Ji’s opinion!”

He quickly changed his attitude right after the players on the red guqin ship felt delighted.

“Master Ji?

“Oh, I almost forgot! It was mentioned on the forum that the Twin Dragon Mount fort is led by a player. I thought it was an exaggeration, but it seems to be true!”

After hearing what Yan Qing said, most players on the guqin ship whispered to each other.

“It’s truly led by a player...”

Boss Zhong and the middle-aged suona player, however, secretly frowned after confirming the message.

If a settlement was led by natives, the gap among the players in it wouldn’t be too huge.

The greatest difference between the Chosen Ones and the natives was that the former could not only perform rituals but also bring technology and intelligence back from Earth to the Land of Inheritance!

Since every player was capable of doing that, a native leader could give resources to any of them.

Therefore, even if the players from the guqin ship were new members of such a settlement, they might still be able to distinguish themselves.

But it wasn’t going to happen if the settlement was led by a player. Thanks to the political dramas back on Earth, no player leaders would give the “newcomers” an opportunity to seize the power unless they were really stupid.

“Huh? Master!

“Alright, I see...”

Very soon, Yan Qing changed his expression on the dragon head as if he were listening to something.

Then, he lowered his head and spoke to the Musical House players on the guqin ship.

“Master asked me to invite you all to the island. We can’t declare war on the aliens until we discuss it with everybody!”

“To the Twin Dragon Island? I’m fine with that. I wonder if we can meet Wu Song...”

“Well, we can ask to join them after we get to the island.”

After hearing what Yan Qing said, most people on the guqin ship were delighted.

However, someone thought of a possibility and said warily in a low voice, “Wait, is this a trap? What if the Twin Dragon Island is coveting the treasures and resources on our ship?”

“What’s there to be scared of? Since a player is in charge of the Twin Dragon Island, they cannot possibly kill us and loot our goods, or they will be publicly criticized on Earth!”

The middle-aged suona player, however, wasn’t alarmed at all.

“Please lead the way. However, we’ve been too exhausted to propel the ship in the direction we desire for now...”

Boss Zhong nodded and accepted the suggestion.

“Well, that’s easy to take care of!”

Yan Qing waved his hand.

Boom!

In the next moment, the red guqin ship suddenly moved on the sea.

Then, as if it were hauled by something, it followed the Mirage Dragon Warship back to the Twin Dragon Island.

“What’s going on? How did they do it?”

The player who was holding the bamboo flute was briefly stunned.

“It’s from the bottom of the ship...”

Very soon, somebody realized what was going on.

At some point, the guqin ship had been tied up by a vine net that was transparent and barely recognizable in the water from down below, and the other side of the vine was attached to the deck of the high dragon warship that they could not see clearly.

As a matter of fact, the players on the guqin ship had seen nobody except Yan Qing.

The hovering white fog around the dragon warship made it impossible for them to tell how many people were out there on the enormous warship.

...

On the Twin Dragon Island.

“You’re the leader of this settlement?”

The girl who had a mole in the corner of her eyes wore a complicated expression as she looked at Ji Ye whom everybody greeted respectfully.

Every aspect of the Twin Dragon Island that she had seen was far better than the Musical House she came from.

All those on the island were doing their jobs diligently with smiles of delight and excitement on their faces.

Elite soldiers who wore thick armor and carried shiny weapons defended the sentry posts that had been neatly built in order. Some heavy weapons that were similar to the Magma Monsters’ “black cylinders” but were longer and narrower had been installed at critical locations.

When she disembarked, she happened upon two generals who were “sparring”.

One of the generals, who looked even shorter and younger than herself and had yellow hair and a skinny body, smashed a pair of enormous hammers into the reefs in the sea.

Boom!

The reefs that were as huge as a house and extremely hard thanks to the tempering of the seawater were shattered into pieces. A tide almost three meters long was raised.

A handsome young general who wore silver armor pointed his long spear that seemed to be made of snow, freezing and stopping the raised tide.

After that, the Snow Spear in his hand waved and left blurry shadows behind.

Crack!

Several seconds later, after the frozen tide turned back into seawater, those broken reefs had become black bricks that were absolutely the same size.

However, even figures as magnificent as them still greeted the Chosen One before her eyes as “Master” respectfully when he walked by!

When she vented her fury of Boss Zhong and his accomplices on this Chosen One leader earlier, he wasn’t infuriated at all.

Instead, he rescued her and her companions from the Magma Monsters as he promised. However she hated the Chosen Ones, she couldn’t be mad at Ji Ye at this moment.

“Your name?”

Ji Ye, with his True Seer, could clearly sense the native girl’s emotional changes on the way.

In particular, the girl was quite shocked by Li Yuanba and Zhao Yun’s teamwork to create more bricks for the construction site. It was a major eye-opener for her.

However, Ji Ye didn’t talk to her until he took her to the rear of the fort.

“Pei Xingnu!” the girl replied in a low voice with her head lowered after Ji Ye took her to a room.

“Can you help me kill those bad Chosen Ones?” Then, she raised her eyes and spoke with hatred reemerging in her eyes.

When they passed the red guqin ship earlier from the bottom of the sea, she would have charged at the ship if she weren’t restrained by the Dragon Aura!

“Why do you think I would help you deal with the Chosen Ones when I’m a Chosen One myself?” Ji Ye stared at her in the eyes and asked back.

By calling Boss Zhong and the others “bad”, the girl indirectly complimented him as a “good guy”, but he simply ignored it.

On the Land of Inheritance, “good guys” and “saints” were definitely unrewarding, if not despicable, figures!

“If you kill them, I can...”

Faced with Ji Ye’s eyes that could almost see through her mind, the girl suddenly became pale.

After several seconds of silence, she suddenly dropped the pipa that she had been clenching and laid her hands, which were slightly dirty due to the dust from the burning palace but still long and beautiful, on her belt.

“Young Master, you’re back!”

However, before Ji Ye made any reply, a gentle and refreshing voice had come from her back. Nie Xiaoqian, who wore a long dress and attractive makeup, appeared at the door with a yellow cloak that she recently made.

“Cough... Xiaoqian, they’re all yours. Find some clean clothes for them.

“Also, ask Doctor An to check their wounds.”

As calm as before, Ji Ye pointed at the few natives on the ground who were still unconscious.

“Well, right, ask Shang Yan to come here too. Someone’s trauma needs to be taken care of too.”

Then, after dropping a hint at the mole girl, who seemed to have lost the strength to loosen her belt after seeing Nie Xiaoqian’s face, Ji Ye turned around and walked out.

Who said that the girls from ancient times were naive and simple? This one here couldn’t be older than twelve!
