Chapter 849 - Downside
They all hailed from the same race so their basic composition of the mana fluctuations\' structure was more or less the same.
There were huge differences, but Jason was still able to perceive the minuscule similarities followed by the alterations their soulbonds caused.
Unfortunately, this was not helpful to allow him to find Lux.
Even if he managed to find him, there was no way that he could attack him in the open.
Jason wanted to be as stealthy as possible because there were more than a few powerful Cultivators inside the camp.
Even if he killed Lux, it would probably take him a little bit of time, which was more than enough for the human cultivators to react.
In that case, the few people at the Mid or Late Ascendion stage would either capture and torture him to find out why he had attacked Lux, or they would simply kill him.
Both scenarios were not something Jason wished to encounter.
As such, he had to set up a plan which he could initiate before the Shadow walkers arrived in the camp.
That was important because there might be certain individuals who had encountered him before.
If that was not the case, the Shadow walkers would try to force a soul contract on him, which was not really any better.
Thus, the importance of completing everything he had to do before the Shadow walkers arrived was even more important.
However, at the same time, Jason felt like he had to procure more information about the secret realm with the Ninad beasts.
He wished to know how many other camps with humans from Argos existed in the Shadow walker\'s territory including their numbers.
It might not be necessary to do something like the latter, but it was important for Jason to understand how many humans had left Argos.
If there were to be tens of thousand humans in the rows of the Shadow walkers, there would be a total of ten times that spread through the other dozens of races that had been on Argos.
He could have either hit the bullseye or his assumption was far off from the actual number.
This was the very reason that Jason wanted to find out the truth.
It would allow him to question if it was feasible to encounter more humans with soulbonds, or not.
Like the Shadow walkers, even the Ifrytor race had humans under their control.
This meant that it was highly likely for him to encounter them on his search for the Ifrytors\' that commanded the mission on Argos.
In the end, taking revenge required patience, and it was important for him to not lose the human side of himself.
However, that was something Jason believed himself to be lacking already.
What was even considered to be humane? Jason had no idea because he had encountered all kinds of emotionally intelligent races, even if they didn\'t even remotely resemble humans.
Was one humane if one was generous, kind, or selfless? Then what about the other races whose looks were the exact opposite of a human? Were their emotions labeled humane if they were to be generous, kind, or selfless?
Clueless to a definite answer to any of the questions, Jason\'s mind was being tormented by his own thoughts.
He fell in steps beside Linus, who was very talkative.
Meanwhile, Jennifer was not sure what she was supposed to do because Linus was talking in the human language most of the time.
As such, she didn\'t even understand what the young man who was accompanying them was talking about.
This made the situation for her a little bit awkward.
So instead of listening to the young man, Jennifer averted her attention to inspect the surroundings.
Her gaze flitted to the other people and she began gauging their combat prowess.
Through that, Jennifer was able to figure out that many people might be stronger than what their cultivation base indicated.
But from the looks of it, controlling their body in a perfect manner was still difficult for them.
She felt that this was quite confusing, but the rough translations Jason attempted without mentioning the Ninad beasts and the secret realm helped her to some extent.
When Jason had tried to say \'Ninad beasts\' in the universal language, it felt like his entire mouth was sewed.
This was quite confusing, but also intriguing.
Explaining the situation to a perplexed Jennifer without mentioning a few names through voice transmission was not exactly difficult.
But it was neither easy and required a few minutes of his time before Jennifer came to a conclusion based on what she had perceived.
[If what you said is true, then it\'s possible that these beasts from that place have a disadvantage.
They hinder the cultivator from properly merging the amplification with their body. Look at the middle-aged man in front of us, on the right side.
His movements are sluggish when compared to the others.
It is probably because of the high amplification of his strength, and if I\'m not wrong he has lots of combat experience!]
Before Jennifer had said this, Jason hadn\'t even noticed anything.
Rather, he was completely oblivious to the possible disadvantage the Ninad beasts had.
As such, it was only now that he perceived what was going on, which astonished him a little bit.
Taking a proper look at the respective individuals, Jason couldn\'t help but feel more curious.
It didn\'t take long before he was able to perceive exactly the same as Jennifer.
Almost every single human\'s movements including Linus\' were slightly sluggish.
They weren\'t as smooth and flawless as Jason or anybody back on Argos.
There was a mechanized feel to it as if they were disjointed and uncoordinated which were tiny and unnecessary.
This originated from the fact that they were not able to use all of their strength at will.
Due to this, the people inside the camp were forced to spend more time training their body, adjusting it to the higher amplifications they received.
It might look like an advantage, but receiving a soul amplification that was equal to binding several soulbonds at the same rank was bound to have downsides.
As such, integrating the amplification to the body\'s constitution took a while.
However this \'while\' could probably take longer or shorter according to the time one spent trying to integrate the amplification to one\'s body.
With that in mind, Jason felt that binding a Ninad beast might not be the best for him.
Rather, given his circumstances, binding multiple beasts that didn\'t have a limit, but versatile traits and affinities was certainly the best!
With that in mind, his interest in the secret realm decreased tremendously even if it could be considered a great opportunity to get a natural 100% soul amplification of any kind of beast.
\'I should focus on Lux…and Jennifer for the moment!\'
In the end, there was only one reason for him to stay inside the camp which was Lux.
Likewise, the only reason to leave the camp once he completed his mission was Jennifer.
In fact, Jason felt that he should leave Manyr soon, but at the same time, he was not sure if he was ready to depart to the planet called Tagran, where Wisse\'s master was located.
He didn\'t have the coordinates of the planet, nor the location of the world bridge that connected Manyr to the said planet.
But that was not really an issue because procuring this information shouldn\'t take long.
With that in mind, Jason wondered if he should start his search for the world bridge to Tagran.
Who knew how long it would take him to find the answer he was looking for, let alone how long it would take to travel around Manyr?
After all, the world bridge he was looking for might be on the other side of the planet!
