After their dinner, she even helped him wash the dishes while he dried them with a clean towel. Meanwhile, the twins were given a bath by their nanny in the spare bathroom near the kitchen, so he and Tang Moyu were able to hear the splashes of water they made while their nanny told them to stay still so she could wash them properly.
Usually, after their dinner with Qin Jiran, the three would return to the main house, but tonight, the twins insisted to have a sleepover with their Daddy Ji again.
"You\'re early today. I thought you\'re going to work overtime with Miss Gu again." He broke the silence between them.
Tang Moyu hummed before turning the faucet off, removing the gloves from her hand, and helped him put back the plates and cutleries in the cabinets.
"Yuyao said she can manage without me." She responded. She also wanted to eat something good after a long day at work. Since she\'d been working overtime these days, she hadn\'t eaten a single meal Qin Jiran had made for her children. To be honest she did crave for his food a little. His cooking was perfect for her palate.
"You are working too hard these days. Don\'t push yourself too hard, Moyu." He reminded her.
"Thanks, but it really couldn\'t be helped. There\'s a lot of things to be done and reviewed since we replaced the line of personnel for our executive positions."
While her grandfather was happy that she was taking over the management of their family business, the same couldn\'t be said about her other relatives, especially her mother, who thought that she cheated them into selling their shares at lower than market prices, gaining an upper hand by buying it back.
But did the empress care about what they think of her? Of course not! Where were they when Feng Tianhua ruined her, taking everything from her? Didn\'t they turn their backs on her when she asked for help?
How could she have compassion for the people who only recognized her when they needed her? Serve them right for losing their shares.
Their conversation then moved to a lighter topic. Feng Tianyi then learned that there were certain food the twins didn\'t like and made a mental note not to keep it in his pantry the next time Auntie Lu refilled it.
A moment later, Tang Moyu came back from the main house, now in her home clothes. She sat next to Qin Jiran on the couch and watched the movie dispassionately, wondering when it would finally end.
"If you don\'t like it, you don\'t have to force yourself to stay, you know." She heard the man chuckle beside her. Her twins had chosen to be splayed on the carpeted floor near their mother.
"It\'s not funny anymore when you\'ve already seen the same movie for the umpteenth time. You\'ll agree with me once you\'ve had enough." She told Qin Jiran, which earned a laugh from him.
"You could have retired early and I could watch them until they\'re done." He offered.
Tang Moyu shook her head. "No. I want to be here with them."
"And with me?" Feng Tianyi asked with a grin.
She tried not to roll her eyes at his poor attempt to tease her. "Yes, here with you too."
Feng Tianyi\'s eyes widened slightly at her statement. He wasn\'t expecting that she would play along easily, considering how she\'d given him a cold shoulder recently.
"The empress is really unfair to me." He sighed to himself, but was loud enough for Tang Moyu to hear.
She furrowed her brows and looked at him confusedly. What the hell was he talking about?
"What do you mean?" She asked.
Feng Tianyi leaned closer to whisper in her ear.
"Stealing kisses from me while you are drunk, ignoring me for days, and then suddenly teasing me like this? Tang Moyu, don\'t you think your debts to me are piling up one by one?"
"I did what?" Her eyes were as wide as saucers upon hearing his words. Did he just say she stole a kiss from him when she was drunk weeks ago?
"Now that you know what you did, aren\'t you planning to compensate me?" Feng Tianyi propped his arm on the couch, trapping her between him and the armrest.
Tang Moyu scowled at him. "Then, what do you want me to do?"
He shrugged. "Nothing. I just want you to stay still. It\'s payback time."
Before she could react to what he said, he had already cupped her chin and gently tilted her head to one side before he placed a light peck on each side of her cheek. His lips then descended to the corner of her mouth, just like what she did to him when she was drunk.
Tang Moyu was frozen in her seat. She\'d never been kissed by a man while she was sober before. She was drugged on that night with the twins\' father.
"We are still not even yet, Miss Tang." He whispered with a grin on his face. "I\'ll claim the interest later, when they aren\'t looking," he pointed at the two little buns whose eyes were fixated on the movie they were watching, oblivious to what their Daddy Ji was doing to their Mommy.
