Chapter 137 Bound to Happen 1
137 Bound to Happen 1
There was no way in hell she would allow Tang Zhelan to mess with the hard work she and Lu Tianxin had put in for the past few months. Lu Tianxin went as far as traveling across the country to represent the company, working hard to reestablish its relationship with its partners and prospective ones.
Gu Yuyao popped her bubblegum and looked at Tang Moyu and Lu Tianxin at the same time, her face one with boredom.
"They are probably trying to cut their losses too, Moyu. I heard the old man Ye passed away and his eldest son is in charge now. What's his name again?"
"Ye Xiaozu." Tang Moyu replied as she passed the documents back to Cheng Ning before clasping both of her hands on top of her desk. Gu Yuyao gasped and asked "Hadn't he just returned after his father threw him to their Singapore branch eight years ago?"
"Wow, Yuyao. For someone who'd been on the run for a long time, you sure are still updated with what's going on here." Tang Moyu chuckled.
"Hey! That can't be helped since I have to know what the Gu family was up to. I need to know when to escape." The Gu heiress pouted back at her.
Lu Tianxin's stomach churned. After years of not seeing each other, she hadn't expected to ever see him again, much less more of him. Gu Yuyao raised a brow at her while Tang Moyu's eyes were unreadable.
They didn't need to guess to know that Lu Tianxin felt uncomfortable regarding the meeting.
"Tianxin, if you don't want to meet him, it's fine. You don't need to force yourself if you don't want to." Tang Moyu assured her. She wasn't sure what kind of relationship Lu Tianxin had with Ye Xiaozu, but for her to act like this, Tang Moyu was certain that the two had a history together.
Perhaps, Ye Xiaozu was the one who fathered Lu Ziluo, Lu Tianxin's son?
Tang Moyu shook her head. She had no right to poke her nose into her cousin's affairs. If Lu Tianxin wanted to reveal the identity of her son's father, she would have done it a long time ago.
What's there to be worried about anyway? Ye Xiaozu and her story had already ended anyway.
"No, Moyu. It's alright. Our meeting is bound to happen anyway. I can't let you take this task this time. Xiao Bao and Little Star need you more here." She responded, remembering how Tang Moyu was worried sick about her daughter who fell ill while she was on a business trip away from Shenzhen.
Her little buns were still young and they needed their mother. On the other hand, Luo Luo, her son, was old enough to understand why she had to travel frequently for work and could be left with his nanny. However, this time, maybe she could let him stay with his second cousins at Peach Blossom Garden.
Plus, Nanshan District was still in Shenzhen, she could make a quick trip and Luo Luo wouldn't even notice that she's not around. She hated being away from her son for too long, but there were just things she couldn't simply push to her cousin, Moyu. Her cousin already had a lot of baggage to deal with and she always took the extra paperwork home.
"The theme park and the shopping mall at Nanshan District should be completed before summer ends, but the reports indicate that it's almost impossible for Tang Enterprise to finish the construction." Tang Moyu explained. "Feng Conglomerate also bid for the project and I wouldn't be surprised if Ye Corporation dropped their deal with us and chose them to finish the project instead."
"Tianxin, we lose more than we could afford if this happens, I hope you understand." This time Gu Yuyao turned to her seriously. The deal Tang Enterprise had with the Ye Corporation was one of the major contracts the company currently held with high profit, but it came with a high price. If they lost the deal to Feng Conglomerate, it would leave a huge dent in Tang Enterprise finances.
"I understand, Miss Gu. I'll try my best to see the root cause of the problem and deal with it." Since Lu Tianxin made up her mind to join their family business, it was only natural for her to share the burden with Tang Moyu.
Tang Moyu remained silent for a moment and gave it a good thought. Perhaps Lu Tianxin couldn't do it alone.
"Yaoyao do you think you can accompany Tianxin to check the site?" She asked her friend.
Gu Yuyao hummed. "Sure, I don't think Lianchen would mind."
Anyway, their wedding ceremony was still in the planning stage and she didn't need to spend time nor money as her grandfather had hired the best wedding planners he could get in Beijing and sent them here, to Shenzhen. The only things that she and He Lianchen needed to do were to choose the dress, flowers and motif that they'd be using for the ceremony.
