Chapter 290 - You Only Have One Life, Moyu (2)
There was a momentarily silence between them as Feng Tianyi looked at her with wide eyes, shock was written all over his face as his brain temporarily short circuited from the information he just heard from Tang Moyu.
Seeing his shocked expression, Tang Moyu knitted her brows before helping him get back on his feet, leading him to the couch situated across her desk. She couldn't understand why he was reacting this way. Did he mistake her children for having an illness at their young age?
Feng Tianyi leaned forward, covering his mouth with one hand. So many possibilities came to his mind and the most obvious one was that Tang Moyu could be the same woman he spent the night with five years ago, and that Tang Feiyu and Tang Feixiu were his children from that one night stand.
"What's wrong?" Tang Moyu asked as she took a seat next to him. "Baobao and Little Star will be fine as long as they didn't get involved in any accidents that might require blood transfusions." She continued, oblivious to how Feng Tianyi's face lost its colors upon hearing her confession.
"I was told that Baobao and Little Star can lead normal lives." She sighed. "There are no side effects or health complications from having such rare blood. At most, a mild cause of anemia would affect them. But that's something I can easily deal with."
Tang Moyu had never worried about Little Star and Xiao Bao being anemic since they started to eat solid foods. Although they were picky eaters, they ate a lot and had consistently taken their vitamin supplements on a daily basis.
"However, because of the rarity of their blood, we have to be extra careful. They can't be reckless in any activities that may cause injuries, leading to blood loss. We also need to be mindful when travelling." Tang Moyu continued to explain.
This was a lot for Feng Tianyi to take. She'd been dealing with it since she'd given birth to her children. No wonder she was exceptionally worried whenever something happened to her twins. It made sense now why she was working nonstop.
"You understand, right? I would need a lot of resources to make sure that my children would be safe. That 20 billion trust fund I set for them didn't appear overnight."
"Of course it didn't." Feng Tianyi finally said. In fact, it was already surprising that she had earned that much. Did she put in all her assets from the moment she started working to this day? He wondered.
"But it shouldn't be the reason why you should neglect your own health, Moyu. Compared to the money you earn, your life is much more important for your children. You only have one life, Moyu. If they lose you, do you think they would be happy to know that you've lost your life because of them?"
He cupped the sides of her face, the hint of worry still apparent in her eyes.
"More than anything else, we need you here, Moyu. Don't overwork yourself." Feng Tianyi said before kissing her forehead, not allowing her to see the sudden turmoil that flashed in his eyes.
With the amount of money she has raised so far, Tang Moyu should be considered one of the wealthiest people in the country. She was a self made billionaire, but the empress wouldn't be able to enjoy the fruits of her hard work because most of her assets were allocated solely for the twins.
Thinking about it, he'd never dated a woman who was richer than him or his family. Feng Tianyi initially thought that success and wealth drew women like roses did for honey bees. That was until he met the empress, who was clearly out of his league and most obviously an independent woman.
Neither his popularity as Qin Jiran nor his worth as Feng Tianyi were able to entice the fallen empress. At least that had been a blessing in disguise. In hindsight, it was obvious that Tang Moyu didn't need him or his help, but she'd chosen to be with him.
Anyway, it's not that she needed to flaunt her wealth or work hard anymore. With him being her partner at Xiao Xing Diamond Co., she didn't need to worry about the company for the meantime.
"I understand. I'll try to cut back from too much work." Tang Moyu conceded and let him pull her into his embrace. The loud thud of his heart reminded her that she was loved by this amazing man who would do anything for her.
Was this why so many people ended up being hopeless romantics, hoping that they could find the right person who could love them? However, isn't it ironic that people pray to find the one, but weren't willing to change themselves for the better?
Being with Feng Tianyi for months now, Tang Moyu had learned that she needed a lot of patience and needed to learn to compromise if she really wanted to make this relationship work out with him. However, it wasn't easy to change something that she'd gotten used to.
"It's getting late. Why don't we check on the twins before we head to bed?" Tang Moyu pulled away from him and adjusted her silk robe.
"Are you offering your own bed tonight? Have I ever told you that I'm a very good bed warmer, Moyu?" He grinned.
