Chapter 311 - Missing You (1)
Chapter 311 - Missing You (1)
Luo Qingqing immediately entered the backseat of the car before it drove away from the airport. She clutched her c.h.e.s.t and tried to catch her breath. Thankfully, she managed to escape.
She turned her head to see who had saved her and she was momentarily stunned when she saw a woman with a beguiling beauty. She was wearing a black business suit and reading a tablet in her hand.
There was another woman sitting in the front passenger seat, next to the driver. Cheng Ning was looking at Luo Qingqing with curiosity then turned her gaze to her boss, who hadn\'t said anything since the woman entered their car.
"I-I… thank you for helping me…" Luo Qingqing stuttered. She was a little ashamed that she had to seek a stranger\'s help this time.
She couldn\'t understand why she couldn\'t look away from the beautiful woman sitting next to her. There was something about her that made Luo Qingqing feel like she\'d seen her somewhere before.
Had they met before? Luo Qingqing wondered. Why did she feel like she\'d seen this woman before? She remained silent as she tried to remember where she\'d seen her but failed.
"Where should we drop you?" Tang Moyu asked without sparing Luo Qingqing a glance. She\'d already taken a good look at her even before she entered the car and knew who she was.
"Uhh… If you could please drop me off at Royal Crown Hotel, that would be great." Luo Qingqing wasn\'t sure why they were helping her, but as long as she would be able to reach her destination safely, then perhaps she could just owe them one this time.
"Is that so? You are lucky! That\'s where we are also staying." Cheng Ning smiled at her, still oblivious of the identity of the woman her boss helped today. Her hair, the clothes she wore spoke nothing of her status as a popular actress these days.
"Ah, I guess you are right." Luo Qingqing laughed awkwardly. She gave the woman beside her another glance, but Tang Moyu remained silent throughout their ride. Not that more words were needed to be said, plus, the empress had already said her piece.
When they arrived at their destination, they chose to enter through the back entrance of the hotel to avoid the crowd that was waiting at the front. The bodyguards Feng Tianyi had provided for her were very capable of finding a detour to avoid the crowd outside.
"You can\'t run like this every time you travel, Miss Luo. I suggest hiring a better security detail or check who\'s feeding your fans your schedule. Sooner or later, they will cause you problems you cannot avoid even if you want to." Tang Moyu suddenly said, surprising not only Luo Qingqing, but also Cheng Ning.
"H-how...?" Her eyes widened from shock. Was her disguise easy to see through that this stranger could easily recognize her?
\'\'How do I know who you are?" Tang Moyu finished her question. "Let\'s cut the bull, here, Miss Luo. I only saved you because you are in our way. As for those people, I think you should reevaluate on who to trust and not."
Tang Moyu didn\'t intend to be mean with her words, but Luo Qingqing needed to stand up for herself if she wanted to last in the entertainment industry. The fans outside seemed organized and knew where to find Luo Qingqing.
Luo Qingqing rubbed her arm and looked around her. They were now inside an elevator with the four bodyguards Tang Moyu brought with her for this business trip.
"Thank you for your concern. I\'ll try to keep that in mind." She thanked the empress for her suggestion. Honestly, the thought did occur to her, but she just chose to ignore the red flags.
So, she wasn\'t the only one who thought it was suspicious. If a stranger could obviously tell the problem, it must mean that she wasn\'t overthinking or overly suspicious of those people around her.
There was definitely something going on that she needed to find out. It couldn\'t be a coincidence that wherever she went, the crowd followed her. Luo Qingqing tried to ignore the issue surrounding her and Xing Yiyue. She couldn\'t understand why her fans were attacking her.
Was there someone plotting against her? It would make sense why this problem persisted no matter how many times she tried to avoid them. Someone was leaking her schedule to those fans who had been following her everywhere.
Tang Moyu and her group arrived on their floor and alighted at once, leaving Luo Qingqing by herself. The empress then reached her room, took a shower and changed into a new set of clothes.
She attended all her appointments and completed the agenda on her schedule with Cheng Ning, only stopping when it was time for them to eat. No matter how busy she was, Tang Moyu never forgot Feng Tianyi\'s reminder about it.
On the second day, she woke up and ate breakfast early while reading her emails on her tablet. The sky was still dark and she still had time to finish some of her work before it was time for her to attend the conference with her assistant.
When Cheng Ning appeared at her door, they left the hotel and found the same crowd they had seen the first time they arrived. They seemed to have camped outside the hotel, hoping to get a glimpse of Luo Qingqing.
"I didn\'t think fans could be this loyal and diligent." Tang Moyu commented as she checked the time on her wristwatch when they started to drive towards the location where the conference was being held.
"I\'m not sure…." Cheng Ning replied. She also couldn\'t understand the persistence of those fans, flocking around Luo Qingqing, whom they met yesterday.
If Tang Moyu hadn\'t told her it was Luo Qingqing, she would never suspect that it was the popular actress.
"Must be something popular people have to pay for their fame." Tang Moyu commented, glad that she was spared from it. Ah, but wasn\'t this something Xing Yiyue would enjoy?
