Chapter 323 - You Don’t Like Babies? (1)
The music began to play and shortly after, there was a small gasp from the crowd when Gu Yuyao began walking down the aisle. Tang Moyu smiled at the happy but teary eyed bride as she focused on reaching He Lianchen.
It was like the bride had ignored all the guests around them at the moment and had zeroed her attention on the love of her life. Tang Moyu was glad that her friend was so lucky to have met someone she cared for and loved so much, and together, they managed to stay strong for each other.
This kind of love… this kind of relationship. Tang Moyu had never witnessed it with her parents, not even when she thought that Zhang Wuying was her mother. She didn\'t even see it when her elder sister got married. The empress had truly never seen a bride as beautiful and as happy as Gu Yuyao.
Tang Moyu used to think that she could never settle down with someone, let alone marry a man after what happened to her five years ago. Was it even possible that she and Feng Tianyi would end up marrying each other someday?
She kept her eyes on the happy couple through the exchanging of vows and rings, all the while aware of the eyes that were watching her through the entire ceremony. Once the couple were announced as husband and wife, He Lianchen and Gu Yuyao locked into a loving embrace and kissed before everyone to make it official.
It was during that time when Tang Moyu shifted her gaze to look at Feng Tianyi to shed this silly feeling of being watched. Perhaps she was being paranoid, that he wasn\'t the only one looking at her, but who else could it be?
The empress tried to stop herself from rolling her eyes when she saw him still staring at her. Couldn\'t he be anymore obvious? People might assume something was going on if he kept staring at her like that.
"Moyu, he\'s really enamored by you, isn\'t he?" Tang Moyu heard her best friend laugh beside her. Even Lu Tianxin couldn\'t help but giggle seeing how Feng Tianyi ignored the ceremony all together in favor of looking at her cousin.
Little Star waved a hand at her Daddy Ji when she saw him looking in their direction. Her Yu Gege was in Uncle Yan\'s arms next to their Mommy Fen.
"It seems like he isn\'t the only one who couldn\'t stop himself looking at you." Li Meili added. "Look behind you, Moyu."
Tang Moyu did what she was told and swept her gaze over the other guests behind her. It was only then did she see Feng Tianhua looking at her direction. The man was suddenly caught off guard when their eyes met.
She raised a brow at him, questioning, before turning her eyes to see Wang Ruoxi and Xing Yiyue standing next to him. She gave the older woman a nod, but ignored Xing Yiyue completely. She knew they would be here but had decided to limit their encounters today.
Wang Ruoxi returned her smile while Xing Yiyue lowered her head, refusing to acknowledge the empress\'s presence. This was the second time she and Tang Moyu were at the same event but just as she had promised to her husband, she would do her best to avoid any confrontation with the empress.
Meanwhile, Feng Tianhua hadn\'t failed to notice his older brother\'s presence. How could he, when Feng Tianyi was the groom\'s best man? The moment He Lianchen came in with his brother, everyone started murmuring gossip about him.
It had been more than five years since the last time the devil showed himself in public, and this was the first time they had seen him after his long absence from Shenzhen. Feng Tianhua hadn\'t failed to notice his brother\'s eyes set on Tang Moyu. He was looking at her with such interest that troubled the younger Feng.
Feng Tianhua didn\'t like how his brother looked at Tang Moyu. No, in fact he hated it when the empress attracted other men\'s attention, even when she wasn\'t doing anything. She only needed to stand, and everyone\'s eyes would eventually be glued on her without knowing about it.
The banquet hall was filled with guests as the wedding reception started. The room buzzed with excited chatter. Then the bride and groom entered, applause spread across the room. They could hear the scraping of chairs as folks got up for a standing ovation and the happy couple made their way to the head table, smiling and holding hands.
Gu Yuyao was beautiful in her white wedding dress while He Lianchen was looking a little stiff but handsome in his white tux.
They sat in front of a bouquet of baby pink roses and the groom leaned in for a kiss. There were cheers and someone whooped. After a few moments the toastmaster rose from his chair and everyone else sat down. The sound of his teaspoon rapping on the side of his wineglass signaled everyone to silence, except for the children, who were eventually shushed by their parents.
