Chapter 329 - If I Want to Marry (1)
The wedding reception continued without any hitches after Tang Moyu and Feng Tianyi\'s meeting with Feng Tianhua and his mother. Tang Moyu and Li Meili returned to the banquet hall with Lu Tianxin. They greeted Gu Yuyao who had changed into another dress for reception.
"I heard what happened from Song Fengyan. Wang Ruoxi tried to corner you?" Gu Yuyao took both Tang Moyu\'s hands in hers. "Don\'t worry they already left. I think Wang Ruoxi had enough socializing with others." She added with a wink.
Despite Wang Ruoxi being Madam Feng for years, it wasn\'t easy for her to fit in with other madams from high society. People still questioned her origin, no matter if it had been years since she married her husband.
Tang Moyu sighed in relief. At least she would be spared from seeing the family she hated along with the Tang family.
"That\'s good to hear, Yaoyao. I\'m sorry if I caused you trouble on your own wedding day." She apologized to her friend.
"Oh, no. Please don\'t apologize, Moyu. You did nothing. They left on their accord. It\'s nothing personal." The bride reassured her. "Now, enjoy the party." She winked at the empress, hinting something.
Tang Moyu harrumphed but didn\'t utter a word in response. Although she and Feng Tianyi were dating, she was sure that they weren\'t quite ready to be seen together in public yet, even if it were their friends\' wedding.
In the middle of their talk, the huge wedding cake was wheeled in, earning gasps and amazement from the guests. The sugar flowers and intricate lace design left the people in awe.
Even Little Star and Xiao Bao drooled seeing the massive cake presented to them. Their eyes twinkled at the thought of having a piece of the heavenly cake for themselves.
Gu Yuyao hurriedly went back to her husband for them to cut the cake together. She laid her hand on his and together they cut the first slice. Multiple flashes of the camera let her know that several photographers had been taking photos of her and He Lianchen.
A mischievous glint crossed her eyes. She watched as He Lianchen laid the cake slice on a plate and picked up a piece to feed her.
With a sly smile, she picked up a piece from the cake as well to give He Lianchen.
He Lianchen prepared himself for her to smear the icing on his face, like she used to whenever they ate cake together, but was surprised when she didn\'t. As he chewed his piece, he made a move, but instead of Gu Yuyao taking the cake, she bit his fingers, which made him flinch.
Gotcha. Gu Yuyao snickered at him. She would make sure to get those pictures up and frame it to remind him that he\'d lost to her today.
Tang Moyu g.r.o.a.n.e.d and gave Feng Tianyi a look for help, but the devil gave her a grin instead. She couldn\'t understand why she needed to participate in this.
"Come on, Moyu. It won\'t hurt to join." Gu Yuyao winked at her before getting in position to throw the wedding bouquet in her hand.
Heh. What were the chances that Tang Moyu would catch it? Gu Yuyao looked around and saw Feng Tianyi watching the empress like a hawk, never letting her leave his sight. She chuckled as a thought crossed her mind. It would be interesting to see these two get married to each other.
"Here I go! Try to catch it ladies!"
Gu Yuyao made a quick toss over her head, her bouquet flew through the air as the women tried to jump on their heels to grab it.
Once she heard some squealing and whistling, she turned around to see the empress scowling as she held the bouquet in her hands.
The joyous event continued and now the bride and the groom led the guests to the ballroom to dance. As Gu Yuyao predicted, He Lianchen had stepped on her foot as they danced.
"Wanna take a break?" He Lianchen asked, a little embarrassed that he couldn\'t dance properly.
For damn\'s sake, Song Fengyan had taught him how to dance weeks before his wedding, but he wasn\'t doing any better than when he first started practicing.
"It\'s alright, dear. Just follow my lead and try not to step on my poor feet, okay? You\'re gonna pay for ruining my favorite shoes." Gu Yuyao said.
He Lianchen laughed awkwardly before following her lead, trying to make sure his feet wouldn\'t meet hers as they danced. Only when the song ended did he sigh in relief and led his lovely bride back to their table.
"I\'m sorry about that, Yaoyao. I did try my best. I really did." He apologized to his wife, which earned him a pinch on his side from Gu Yuyao.
"Nothing to apologize for, dear. At least you tried, but you definitely need to replace these shoes or I\'m going to send you to the doghouse." She grinned evilly on him.
He Lianchen g.r.o.a.n.e.d. He was briefly reminded that although they were distant relatives, the devil and his wife were related. Was their mischievousness a trait that ran in the family? Then dear Lord, please help him if any of their future children would inherit his wife\'s mischievous streak.
Ah, he would need a lot of patience once they have a kid. Perhaps it was time for him to get some advice from the devil himself, who seemed natural when it comes to the empress\'s little buns.
"What are you thinking about? Won\'t you share it with your wife?" Gu Yuyao ran her hand over his legs under the table.
He Lianchen\'s breath hitched and held her wrist, stopping her.
"Yaoyao, not here." He begged. "Wait until tonight."
