Chapter 557 - Think Twice Before You Speak(1)
The Devil. That was what people who knew Feng Tianyi called him. A persona he so wanted to shed right now. Faced with the shock expression on his wife, shame engulfed Feng Tianyi entirely.
How could he let his wife see him in such a state? Wasn\'t this what he was trying to avoid ever since they got together?
Feng Tianyi wanted to smack himself for being stupid and reckless. He should have waited for Tang Moyu to leave with Jia Yuntao before allowing his rage to consume him.
Alas, it was too late to regret now when everything he\'d been trying to hide was unexpectedly revealed to his beloved wife. How was he supposed to explain what she had witnessed today?
He didn\'t think this was something they could easily forget and it would surely affect how Tang Moyu saw him from now on. She might be his wife, but Tang Moyu had neither seen nor truly known about the person he was before she met him.
"Take them away." He ordered their bodyguards, allowing them to drag those thugs away.
Once they were gone, Feng Tianyi was left with his wife and Jia Yuntao, who could notice the hesitation on the devil\'s face. It must have been hard for the couple to see each other like this.
"Let\'s go back inside and let me see to your hand Miss Moyu." He told the empress before leading them back inside the shelter.
Tang Moyu didn\'t say anything in response and allowed the old man to lead her, by the arm, inside.
Feng Tianyi lowered his eyes and followed them in silence. He knew he would have to explain what just happened to his wife later, but for now, it was important to see if Tang Moyu had sustained any injuries.
Madam Ning met them at the entrance and was surprised to see Tang Moyu looking dishevelled. She could only assume what had just happened outside.
"Are you alright, Miss Tang? You look…"
"Like shit?" Tang Moyu cut the older woman\'s words. "Yeah, I know, but don\'t worry Madam Ning. I\'m fine. It\'s nothing serious." She said and took a seat. She waited for Madam Ning to take the first aid kit from their office.
Feng Tinyi wanted to object to her words. He really thought that she might need to get a medical check up to make sure she was fine. However, he decided to hold his tongue and allowed the old woman to check Tang Moyu\'s hands.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jia led Feng Tianyi to the washroom where he could clean himself properly. Feng Tianyi was disgusted upon seeing his reflection in the mirror inside the washroom. There was a smear of blood on his face that he hadn\'t noticed earlier.
Did Tang Moyu notice it too? Did she regret being with him now that she had seen this side of him? He hoped not, but at least he didn\'t have to hide this from her anymore and didn\'t have to pretend that he was truly a good man in front of her.
"I didn\'t expect something like this would happen while the two of you were here for a visit." Jia Yuntao said, passing a clean towel to Feng Tianyi to use.
"It can\'t be helped. Something needs to be done or else they will persist." He responded.
"I hope it will never happen again. I don\'t want other people to get hurt because of my incompetence."
Feng Tianyi assured Jia Yuntao that the gang that was harassing the shelter would never bother them again in the future. This was the only thing he could do to help the old man after all the terrible things he\'d done to him in the past. He also apologized again for causing trouble for Jia Yuntao.
"I should be the one who should apologize to you and Miss Moyu." Jia Yuntao felt ashamed that he became a cause of a problem between the couple.
They came here being sweet and close to each other. Now, Feng Tianyi looked like he was at the end of his wits after Tang Moyu saw what he did back there.
"I can\'t say it\'s okay, because to be honest, I\'m not sure how Moyu would take it. Ever since we started being together, I keep reign over my emotions and keep check on my actions, always putting her in mind." Feng Tianyi confessed as he eyed his wife, whose hand was being treated by Madam Ning.
But he also knew that he regretted nothing about beating the hell out of that man. He was willing to do it all over again if he had to. Even now, as he remembered the mark of strangulation on his wife\'s fair skin, it was enough for him to get angry.
When he saw Tang Moyu being choked to death by that man, he couldn\'t stop the rage that surged through his veins. His fear that he might lose his wife had pushed him to do those things he\'d never done since his accident.
As her husband, Feng Tianyi believed that it was a normal reaction from his side. No sane man would want to see his woman being assaulted that way. He acted out of rage and desperation to save Tang Moyu, but regardless of his reason, it didn\'t change the fact that he\'d done something terrible today.
Feng Tianyi didn\'t care if other people hate him or fear him, but the thought of Tang Moyu denying him, distancing herself from him made his heart clenched painfully in his c.h.e.s.t.
He didn\'t want Moyu to fear him, to abandon him. He didn\'t think he would be able to take it if she decided to turn her back on him like the rest did.
It was almost six in the evening when he and Tang Moyu decided to leave the shelter, once the elders were convinced that the empress was fine and didn\'t need any medical intervention.
Because Tang Moyu\'s hand was hurt, one of their bodyguards drove the couple back to Peach Blossom Garden.
