Chapter 593 - Never in a Million Years (1)
The night felt too long for Xing Yiyue. As they made their way back home, her mother-in-law had a grim expression on her face while her husband remained silent throughout their drive. Only when their bodyguards and assistants left did Wang Ruoxi snap and give Xing Yiyue a hard slap on her face.
"How dare you?! How dare you ruin my son\'s future?! Look at what you\'ve done!" Wang Ruoxi couldn\'t contain her rager any longer. Tonight, they lost faces in front of everyone, making their family a laughing stock.
She also couldn\'t forget Song Huifen\'s mocking smile, reminding her that in every aspect of life, Wang Ruoxi would always be the inferior one between them.
Was Song Huifen even aware that initially, their father-in-law intended for Tang Moyu to become Feng Tianyi\'s fiancée? No. Impossible. Only she and her husband, as well as Zhang Wuying, were aware of the marriage arrangement set by the Old Master Feng for the two.
Feng Zuyi, who bore such great hatred towards his father who forsaken him for choosing Feng Tianyi as his successor, did his best to ruin the old man\'s plans and replaced his older son\'s name with his youngest out of spite.
If she, Wang Ruoxi, didn\'t meddle and coax her husband into changing it and name Feng Tianhua as the young empress\'s partner, then her son wouldn\'t have a chance to snatch the Feng Conglomerate from Song Huifen\'s son.
It hadn\'t been easy for her and her husband to make sure Feng Conglomerate would end up on their son\'s hands during Feng Tianyi\'s long absence. It was impossible for Song Huifen to influence the board as she was too preoccupied with fighting with her brothers to become the next head of the Song family.
By arranging for Tang Moyu to become Feng Tianhua\'s wife, he would have an advantage against his older brother within the Feng Conglomerate. However, all of their plans were for naught when Feng Tianhua abandoned Tang Moyu and married Xing Yiyue instead.
As Wang Ruoxi glared furiously at her daughter-in-law, she was half tempted to strangle the life out of this white lotus for daring to ruin the plans they made specifically to secure her son\'s future.
Xing Yiyue\'s eyes were stung with tears. She didn\'t know how many slaps she had received tonight. No doubt her cheeks would turn swollen later, but she also knew that she could not retaliate against Wang Ruoxi\'s assault. She could only endure for now.
"I\'m so sorry, Mother. I didn\'t know… I really didn\'t know…"
Never in a million years would she have thought that the father of Tang Moyu\'s children was her husband\'s older brother. They were practically her nephew and niece, and yet she insulted them in front of everyone.
Damn. Tang Moyu\'s luck was too good!
Xing Yiyue sneered in her heart. Just as she thought that she had managed to ruin the empress for good, Tang Moyu was able to recover her status with Feng Tianyi\'s help.
Throughout it all, Feng Tianhua kept his silence. His mind was on something else. No- someone else. He could now see the errors of his actions from the past clearly. He was the one who pushed Tang Moyu away and not the other way around. It was only natural for the empress to dislike him at this point, after all the things he had done to her.
Alas, it\'s too late to regret now. Now that she was his sister-in-law, Feng Tianhua had lost every chance possible for him to be with her. It would be easy for him to get rid of Xing Yiyue as his wife, but Feng Tianhua doubted that his older brother would be willing to let Tang Moyu go, now that they were married and already had children together.
The prize that he so wanted had ended up on his brother\'s hands. Feng Tianhua wasn\'t sure what to feel or to think at that moment.
How could Xing Yiyue do that to Tang Moyu? This was all his fault. He should have stayed away from the other women and should have been faithful to Tang Moyu, despite the fact that their engagement was one of convenience for their families.
The only thing he wanted was for Tang Moyu to see him, to recognize him. To accept him as her husband in all aspects, and not just because her mother told her so. Unfortunately, that never happened as he had already lost the chance to marry her when he gave Xing Yiyue the opportunity to plot against her.
\'Moyu, this is all my fault. I\'m sorry.\' Feng Tianhua sat at the end of the couch and rested his forehead on one hand. Xing Yiyue wouldn\'t dare to hurt Tang Moyu if it wasn\'t because of him.
As he glanced towards his crying wife, Feng Tianhua pondered if being married to Xing Yiyue was his long life punishment. Anyway, he was the one who chose this woman over the empress, so who was he to complain now?
As his wife, Xing Yiyue wasn\'t bad at all. Except from not being able to avoid trouble with Tang Moyu, Xing Yiyue was a decent wife for him. The only thing that was missing was for her to bear their own child.
"Mom, that\'s enough." Feng Tianhua rose to his feet and stopped his mother from laying another hand on Xing Yiyue\'s face. "I\'m sure by now, Yiyue has already learned from her mistakes. What happened already happened." He sighed before turning to regard his wife.
"Yiyue, for now, stay here, at home, and don\'t mingle in the crowd. It\'s better to keep a low profile for now. Don\'t worry about the rumors, I\'ll do my best to suppress the news."
Xing Yiyue looked at her husband with teary eyes and nodded. This was the first time Feng Tianhua intervened and saved her from his mother\'s verbal and physical assaults, but she wasn\'t sure whether she liked this calmness he had on his face or not.
