Chapter 919
Chapter 919: Master And Disciple Part 1
"Ahem…. I will be taking my disciple now." The old woman walked over and grabbed Kana by the hand, and disappeared. When they reappeared, they were on a mountain top filled with greenery. The old woman turned and looked at Kana before waving her hand and turned from a wrinkled old woman to a young woman in her late twenties. "You are really something."
"Mmm… I tried to hold back, but the old man said too much." Kana replied with pursed lips.
"Haha… It\'s fine. That old toad is stubborn and too prideful. He is one of the reasons why the sect master told me to disguise myself as an old woman when I first came here. He told me that the other elders would not accept a young cultivator as a high ranking elder. So when I am out and about in the sect, I use a technique to make myself look old. Ah, I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Yu Ling. You can call me Master or Master Yu. Now let me ask you, why is someone with so much power joining our sect as a disciple?" Yu Ling asked.
"Mmm…. It\'s more of just to get more experience. I wanted to learn more about the way of the sword and refine it to its utmost ability. I heard this was the best sword cultivator sect in the whole plane so I figured I would give it a try." Kana explained.
"I see… Then I will do my best to hopefully fulfill your needs. But with just your talent alone, you could probably make your own attacks, can you not?" Yu Ling did not understand why someone as powerful as Kana would want to join some sect when she could easily hone her skills on her own without needing help.
"My daughter Angelica says knowledge is power, so I am here to gain such power. Anything that can be used to help produce and refine newer techniques is always a good thing. No?" Kana wanted to learn these skills if they were not powerful because they could easily become something more or part of another kind of technique in the future as she began personalizing her own style. While she may have power stronger than the god of creation now, it does not mean she did not want to learn different things in case she is ever in a situation where she is unable to use her power like she was when she first arrived on this world.
"I see. This is a good path to follow. But to think you were already so proficient in the way of the sword. To use a swordless technique to break the testing stone is not an easy task. But then again, with your power, you probably could do such a thing." Yu Ling understood that Kana was very powerful after she touched the testing stone because not even she could do what Kana did. "I guess I should ask your name since you now know mine."
"It is Kana," Kana replied. "I will be in your care for the time being."
"I will do what I can to teach you my skills. While you will get an allotted amount of contribution points each month to use to buy techniques as my personal disciple, you will still need to do missions to gain access to the higher level techniques. We may be a sect and will nurture talents, but techniques outside of what your master will pass down to you are not free. So doing sect missions is a must. It\'s just that all our missions are normally kill requests." Yu Ling explained. "Will you have an issue with that?"
"No. I do not mind. It will also allow me to travel around more." Kana did not mind having to kill people because most of these kill requests were for bad people anyway. And if the person she is to kill is a good person, she can just fail the mission.
"That\'s good to hear. Then let me bring you to your new residence. It will only be the two of us on this mountain top, so between you, me, and the sect leader, no one else knows about my real appearance, so I hope you can keep it a secret." Yu Ling did not want to deal with the elders if they found out her true age. She was only four hundred years old while the other old bastards were all reaching three thousand years of age. They would be jealous to know she had already become an immortal emperor at such a young age.
"Mmm… Don\'t worry. No one will know." Kana replied with a smile as she walked through the colorful landscape. She really liked the area she was in. It was peaceful and scenic. Tall bamboo trees rose up into the air while colorful flowers lined the side. The mix of different colors really made the whole place relaxing.
"This is where you will be staying. It is not much, but if you wish to expand it, you can." Yu Ling stopped in front of an entrance to an immortal cave that had vines growing down over it, making a makeshift natural door. Kana really liked the look of it.
"Thank you. I like it." Kana pushed aside the vines and walked inside. She noticed that the entrance went in but hooked to the right and then left again before opening up. This allowed for the vines to be kept as a door and still have proper privacy. "The spiritual qi in here is denser than outside. You set up an array in here?"
"Mmmm… I had always planned to take a disciple one day. I just did not know when so I set up an array to make the best cultivation environment I could for my would be disciple. Which is now you." Yu Ling replied as she looked around. She had looked for a disciple for so long but never found anyone who fit her temper until she met Kana. But she never thought that the disciple she would take in would be much more powerful than herself.
