Chapter 52 - 52 The Hunt Begins
Chapter 52: Chapter 52 The Hunt Begins
"He was prepared," Marcus said, leaning against the wall. "The explosion, the escape... he knew we were coming."
Dominic stood at the center of the room, hands on the table, staring down at the mess of information. They had been so close. Volkov had been within their grasp, and yet, he had slipped away once again. But Dominic couldn\'t shake the feeling that this time, they were getting closer. Volkov was running out of places to hide.
"We need to focus on his next move," Dominic said, his voice cutting through the tension. "He\'s going to regroup, and when he does, he\'ll be vulnerable. He\'s lost a lot of resources and allies over the last few weeks. That puts pressure on him."
Alyssa, pacing by the window, stopped and turned to face Dominic. "What about Orlov? He was part of that deal, and he\'s still out there. If we can find him, we can find Volkov."
"Agreed," Dominic said. "We hit Orlov\'s network hard. Start applying pressure on his business interests. If we squeeze him, Volkov will have no choice but to reveal himself."
Marcus nodded. "Sounds like a plan. I\'ll work on securing the weapons shipment he was after. If we can trace those, we might get another lead."
Laura looked up from her screen, her face grim. "Dominic, we\'ve got another problem. I\'m picking up chatter from some of our European contacts. It looks like Volkov\'s allies are mobilizing."
Dominic\'s brow furrowed. "What do you mean?"
"Volkov\'s not just sitting back and licking his wounds. He\'s making moves—big ones. There\'s talk of a coordinated effort across multiple fronts. Financial destabilization, political leverage, and possible arms deals. He\'s planning something huge, and it\'s already in motion."
A heavy silence settled over the room. They had disrupted the deal, but the larger plan was still unfolding.
"We\'re running out of time," Alyssa said quietly.
Dominic\'s jaw tightened. "Then we have to move faster."
This was it. The final stages of the game. Volkov was escalating, pushing his agenda into overdrive. If they didn\'t stop him soon, the consequences would be catastrophic not just for them, but for the world.
The hunt for Volkov had just begun, and there was no turning back now.
No matter what the excuse that he wants to come up with in order to hold back or back out.
