Lex went into the magic chariot before Saleen asked, “What happened?”
Lex shook her head, she did not want to make wild guesses and only said, “The mages from Titan Duchy used some hidden powers underneath the magic tower to power the grade-7 magic array. I’m afraid even they were unsure of the powers they had borrowed. When the elemental storm has subsided, we will go in and see.”
As Lex said that, a swordsman from Titan said in a wavering voice from outside the chariot, “Viscountess, come out and take a look!”
At this moment, Bifano was interacting with one of his swordsman from afar. The walls of the castle were still intact, but the building inside the castle was destroyed. He was considering getting someone stationed there. Inside the castle, an intense noise suddenly sounded.
At the center of the elemental storm, in the dusts from the destroyed magic building, a giant hand had extended out. It pushed away the debris. It was made entirely of a silver metal, but was not reflective. It was covered with unusual patterns.
What followed was another similar hand. These two hands were over two meters long and according to normal ratio, the owner of these hands had to be over twenty-five meters tall.
What came next was a head, it was also made of metal, but if it was not too big and was not made of metal. One would definitely suspect it was a young giant.
This unusual metal puppet quickly emerged from under the ground, looking down around him. He seemed a little dazed. He soon found something to do.
Wherever the elemental storm had passed by, besides metal, all else was crushed. Even most of the metals had melted and cooled, forming different shapes. This giant metal puppet used its meter-long fingers to poke around in the debris for a while and found a solidified piece of metal. He then threw it into his mouth.
After swallowing a few pieces of metal, he still was not done. When he stood up, he was over thirty meters tall. He started to move and walked towards the edge of the castle. As he was so heavy, the ground started shaking with him.
There were soldiers left behind by Bifano at the city walls and when they saw this, they were shocked again. Lex heard the vibrations within the castle too and she let the two female mages stay in the chariot as she took a look at Sika. Saleen nodded before Sika left the magic chariot with Lex.
The outside of the castle already had a ladder on it to get to the top of the castle walls for observation. Lex did not fly as her flying skill used up magic chords too. She brought Sika up the city walls and took out an alchemy telescope, looking into the castle.
When the giant puppet’s feet hit the ground, its movements were still a little jarring. The more metal it swallowed, the faster and smoother it moved. On the face of the puppet at the center of its forehead was a gap, like an eye that was wide open.
Lex looked at the metal puppet from her alchemy telescope, she was shocked. Even though the fully constructed puppets that she and Saleen had were showing signs of life, this thing was at a whole other grade. Could this puppet be the legendary Metal Titan?
The Metal Titan came from a mysterious dimension. All the living creatures there were formed from metal and they swallowed metals to grow bigger until their bodies were unable to maintain their own weight.
Humans used to capture such creatures to help them in combat and the Metal Titan was the most famous. As it grew incredibly quickly, it only took a year for a young Metal Titan to grow over one-hundred meters tall. Such life was easy to control too and it would not live over a decade, there was not any chance of betrayal.
The Metal Titan’s attacking powers were similar to that of a grade-8 creature, its defensive powers were greater than grade-9, this was the hardest part. A free Metal Titan was not impossible to capture, but one needed the powers of the ancient humans.
If what was in front of her was that, Lex had no choice but to give up everything in the castle. This was because unlike other creatures, once a Metal Titan was born, its defensive powers were that of a grade-9 creature. It was said that some Metal Titans could even release magic, that made it even more horrifying.
The design of the war puppets from the Qin Empire took inspiration from the Metal Titan. Such huge bodies could not be stopped by any castle walls.
“Lex, what is that?” Sika looked afar, she could see clearly from even a mile away.
“We can’t beat that thing.” Lex was a little depressed. Under the castle was another hidden underground castle and now that the Metal Titan had come out from under the ground, there must be nothing left. The alchemy mold must have been eaten by it.
Sika believed Lex’s judgement, the weird puppet was looking in their direction. All three of its eyes were shining with a silver-white light. Sika could even feel what these three eyes were signifying.
This creature was hungry.
Lex grabbed Sika’s hand without hesitation and released a soaring spell. It was tough for her to fly with Sika along, but she managed. She jumped down from the castle wall and glided beside the magic chariot.
“Bifano, bring everyone, I do not want the things from the castle anymore, let’s run.” Lex did not give any further explanation as she got into the chariot and hurried Saleen. Saleen was incredibly quick as he released a skeleton war horse from the green spirit and kept the fully constructed puppet. It dragged the magic chariot away, not giving Bifano any time to question them.
Bifano’s casualties had not been settled and after hearing Lex’s words, he wanted to ask what had happened. Upon seeing Lex’s magic chariot bolting down the road, he immediately shouted and commanded all the soldiers to get onto their war horses and run behind the magic chariot.
All the soldiers and war horses were decked out in metal armor and for Metal Titan, they were a delicious meal.
Bifano’s bodyguards that had survived were lucky too. The injured soldiers had removed their armor and even though they were injured while riding their horses, they could still keep up.
The earth shook even harder as the Metal Titan that was in the castle sniffed harder. It could smell a large amount of metal outside the castle. It took a squat and quickly bounced up. Its body was incredibly coordinated. This jump took him over one-hundred meters and in a few leaps, he reached the walls of the castle.
Looking at the castle walls, the Metal Titan raised its fist and smashed down. The castle wall that was formed by giant rocks came tumbling down. There were a few metal pillars within the castle walls and the Metal Titan grabbed these metal pillars that were thicker than a human’s leg, shaking them violently. Shaking off the debris on the pillar, the Metal Titan bent down and took a large bite. The metal pillar that had been twisted like a noodle was bitten cleanly apart by it.
As he was eating over here, Bifano’s team had already escaped to underneath the metal bridge. It was over six meters wide and could allow two chariots to pass through. There was a thick metal chain across the bridge. Earl Wynner had ordered this place to be sealed and now that he had escaped, the chain was still blocking the road and the chariot could not pass through.
It was less than a mile between the metal bridge and the castle gates and the Metal Titan was still chewing away at the metal pillar in the castle wall. With such a short distance and looking at its speed earlier, it would be able to catch up in a little over ten seconds.
Saleen did not ask Lex what had happened now, he had seen the thirty meter tall Metal Titan. Saleen still did not know that in a matter of a minute, this Metal Titan had grown over two meters.
Nailisi stuck her eyes in front of the crystal at the carriage wall. Looking at the Metal Titan from afar, she calculated in her head. Even a demon would not be able to win against such a powerful living creature.
“Chop the chains apart!” Bifano was flustered. If that thing caught up, all his soldiers would die.
Of course, all the soldiers had stripped naked and were running for their lives, the Metal Titan might not give chase. On the chariot in front, a grade-5 mage released a middle-level unlocking spell. The giant metal chain remained unmoved.
Two soldiers went forward to chop it with their heavy swords, however, it only left a few marks on the metal chain.
“Move aside!” With a shout, Wild Bear pushed forward with a war axe in his hand. With his height of over two meters, he used his hands to push aside the heads of the soldiers in front.
The metal chain that had sealed the bridge was made up of six chains twisted together, they were part of the defences of the stone statue castle. With the bridge sealed, he would not be able to bring any large equipment unless he had a god weapon like Lex even if someone wanted to come from the other side.
Wild Bear swung the axe up and chopped down viciously. A shrilling noise was emitted as his axe stuck the metal chain.
This swing did not chop through the chain, but it had attracted the Metal Titan’s attention. It raised its head and looked towards the Chishui River. On the river was a metal bridge and it was too big a temptation for the Metal Titan.
Ka…
The Metal Titan swallowed a metal pillar and pushed aside the castle wall with his hand, forming a hole as it walked out from the wreckage.
“Wild Bear, let me.” Jola took out Tears from its sheath. At the top of Tears, a silver sword light spewed out, like its essence.
Wild Bear gave up on the war axe as he stepped aside. Jola swung down with his long sword, the tip landed accurately on the metal chain. He moved his wrist and with a simple swing, released blinding light from the sword. The sword light landed accurately on a position. Even though the material of the metal chain was unique, it could not withstand the powers of a white grand swordmaster and was chopped apart.
Jola waved his hand as the two magic chariot rushed forward onto the metal bridge.
Boom! Boom!
The Metal Titan leaped forward consecutively, coming within one-hundred meters. Bifano’s soldiers fled in terror, they knew they would not be a match for the creature with the weapons in their hands.
The Chishui River was wide and the metal bridge was over eight-hundred meters long. The Metal Titan had already made its way under the bridge and took a look at the humans escaping on the bridge. He seemed to be thinking.
After three seconds, the Metal Tian gave up chasing its prey. Instead, he bent down and started chewing on the body of the bridge.
The bridge shook slightly and what followed was a huge vibration. The Metal titan had bitten off a huge chunk of the bridge and was tearing through it with both hands. Wherever its massive palm had gone, the metal bridge was torn down almost as if it was paper.
