Chapter 104: Kaalanx Abyss, General Information
"Welcome to the Abyss, newbies. If you want to know general knowledge of this world, this book will help."
The dark elf gave them a slim book, which Rin accepted it.
Afterward, the dark elf lady gave them two badges each.
"This is your Hunter card. Just drop a drop of your blood on it to activate it and make it yours. You will need your ID cards to enter any dungeon or participate in Realm Events."
"And how do we earn money for starters?"
"Your Hunter card is also your bank account. Killing abyss creatures or completing missions from that board will give you Abyss coins," the dark elf lady smilingly said as she pointed at the big board in the corner.
"Thanks."
[Congratulations. You have completed the quest and received 1x Weapon Box and 1x Blueprint box.]
…
After activating their Hunter cards, Erix and Rin sat on a bench outside the Hunter Guild and started reading the book, finding a few shocking things and general knowledge, mainly ten points.
1. Rin and Erix were in Kaalanx Abyss, one of five Abyss worlds of Abyss Realm. Moreover, they had a new function, Map, which gave them access to the entire Map of the Kaalanx abyss. It would appear if they uttered \'map\' in their mind.
2. Kaalanx Abyss was divided geographically into three domains: Peripheral, Inner, and Core. Erix and Rin were in the peripheral domain, in one of the many areas of level 50 and below.
3. If they wanted to get stronger, which was only possible by defeating and killing stronger monsters, they must eventually leave this area and enter a higher-level one.
4. Everyone would get hungry, sleepy, and thirsty despite their strength in any abyss world of Abyss Realm, and the basic necessities could only be gained as drops from dungeon monsters. Their inventory was empty because it was invalid, as they couldn\'t put anything inside.
The only inventory was the storage of 10 cubic meters of storage space accessed via Hunter card, which could be upgraded by paying abyss coins at any Hunter Guild.
5. Participating in Realm Events would reward various boons and riches, especially skills and items, because the only way to get items and skill scrolls was to buy from people who made and sold them or from Realm Events. Normal wild monsters didn\'t drop anything except their collectible body parts.
6. Cosmic Factions\' branches were located in the Core geography domain, in the Central Continent.
7. The social structure of Abyss Realm was based on strong eating weak with minor interference from Cosmic Factions, and due to a long history of Kaalax Abyss, the legacies of clans, families, and guilds based in Central Continent had stronger influences in Core domain and Inner domain.
8. The upper limit of Kaalanx Abyss was level 300. Upon crossing level 300, one would automatically enter into a higher Abyss world.
9. A special rule existed that prevented people from hurting individuals 10 levels lower than them, as their attacks would vanish upon hitting them. But if a lower leveled individual intensionally attacked a 10+ level higher individual, the special rule protecting that lower leveled individual would be nulled.
10. Upon getting accepted as a member of any Cosmic Faction, one can use their service to travel out of the Abyss, like returning to their native world.
"Alright, it\'s simple. Let\'s just kill monsters, level up, and earn money," Rin said with a thoughtful expression. "We can just pay to live in any Inn for now since we won\'t stay in this lower-level area for long."
Erix nodded.
"Yeah. We have our self-created skills and the special skill, Ignis Ed Intimacy, so it won\'t take long to cross level 50."
As they were talking, a group of men passed by them, and seeing Rin and Erix in newbie outfits, their eyes lit up.
"Haha, we have an extra room for spare, but we don\'t need the red-eyed guy."
"Hahaha, that\'s right. We have one room for the girl. Wanna come with us, babe?"
Annoying voices with mocking and laid-back tones assaulted Rin and Erix as they saw a group of four men, ranging from in their twenties to thirties, passing by them as they seemed to be going to Hunter Guild.
But their words were not something Erix and Rin would silently take and ignore.
Both of them stood up without saying a word and rushed towards them.
Not expecting them to pounce on them, the group of four was caught off-guard.
Erix didn\'t have Aura Gear passive skill, but his instincts still picked up the most powerful man of the group, who was also the one who spoke first.
Erix squarely landed a punch to the man\'s jaw and broke it, causing the man\'s eyes to roll upward as he lost consciousness.
*Thud*
"You-"
Rin attacked the one who spoke the second sentence, directly cutting off his arm with her Blade Concept, and then proceeded to hurl a Lightning Blade at another who had pointed his hand at Erix and was going to use the skill.
Three of them were disabled, but one with dark blond hair remained.
"Die!"
A water-melon-sized Fireball shot towards Erix, who issued a low roar as veins protruded all over his body. He threw a punch that exerted all his power straight toward the incoming Fireball.
*Boom!*
-13
While Erix diffused the Fireball and took damage, Rin passed by him and swept her hand in a chopping motion towards the man as an invisible blade with lightning cut off his head.
Three down, one dead.
"Erix, are you okay?" Rin quickly looked at Erix\'s burnt hand.
"Nothing serious. It\'ll heal soon. Anyway, let\'s get out of the town and start hunting," Erix said as he looked around. "We have to get powerful faster in case these idiots have stronger friends."
People were still minding their own business after glancing in the direction and whispering something. Most of them seemed to be used to conflicts in the town, so what Erix and Rin did was common, except that it was rare for low-level people to attack higher-level people.
"Let\'s get their Hunter cards and leave," Rin waved her hand as she used her invisible blade to cut off their clothes while Erix kicked them away as they got completely naked.
After he picked up their Hunter cards, they quickly left the town.
