Chapter 27: 27 Congratulations, you’ve found a treasure_1
“So you think this one is genuine?”
Mr. Zhang glanced at the remaining piece on the table, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
But at that moment, Tang Feng continued with a denial, “I think this one… is also a fake.”
“Ah?” Qin Yanan by his side was immediately dumbfounded, “Are you kidding me? How could this one also be fake? Then which one is real?”
Tang Feng turned back to look at her, “All five of these pieces, they are all fakes!”
The words “they are all fakes” seemed to Qin Yanan like five bricks, “smack smack smack” hitting her face and completely dumbfounding her.
Hadn’t Mr. Zhang said that among them, four were fakes and one was genuine?
How come when it got to Tang Feng, they were all fakes?
At the moment Tang Feng uttered those words, Mr. Zhang’s eyes suddenly lit up.
After staring at him for a long time, he suddenly burst into laughter, “Hahaha, how interesting! I didn’t expect that my little tricks would be so transparent to you.”
Confused, Qin Yanan promptly inquired, “Mr. Zhang, what on earth is going on?”
With a smile on his face, Mr. Zhang immediately explained to her, “Actually, none of the five paintings I picked out is genuine; they are all forgeries. The aim was to confuse Mr. Tang a bit, but I didn’t expect him to see right through them.”
After hearing his explanation, Qin Yanan’s face flushed with heat.
She had just been pretending to know that the last one was genuine, only to realize that Tang Feng hadn’t been fooled, while she had.
This Mr. Zhang, he really was cunning!
At this moment, she noticed that Tang Feng was looking at her with a mirthful expression—that was a taunt!
Annoyed and embarrassed, she immediately waved her little fist at him as a threat.
But Tang Feng was not the least bit frightened, lifting his proud head high.
It made Mrs. Qin feel like hitting someone.
Forget it, considering it was his first visit to the shop, she would let him off for now.
She would find another opportunity to deal with him later.
“Mrs. Qin, congratulations, you have stumbled upon a treasure,” Mr. Zhang suddenly came over to extend his congratulations at that moment.
“Pfft, what kind of treasure is he? I think he’s more like a lump of clay,” Qin Yanan said with a huff.
Mr. Zhang was not too interested in the petty squabbles of the younger people and instead looked around with a wistful expression, “With Mr. Tang here, I can now rest assured and hand over the shop to him. I believe that with him at the helm, Ya Garden’s business will get even better.”
Qin Yanan suddenly felt a twinge of sadness and didn’t know what to say.
Then Mr. Zhang turned to Tang Feng, “Let me introduce myself, my name is Zhang Jicheng, Mr. Tang, I am very honored to meet you.”
He had now finally given his name, clearly showing his deep recognition of Tang Feng’s abilities.
Tang Feng reached out to shake his hand, “Uncle Zhang, you don’t need to call me Mr. Tang, it sounds too stiff, just Tang is fine.”
Hearing him say this in such a familiar way, Zhang Jicheng could only chuckle and pat him on the arm, “Alright then, Tang, Ya Garden is in your hands now. I hope you can help Mrs. Qin out a bit more.”
Tang Feng looked back at Qin Yanan, “Uncle Zhang, don’t worry. Ya’nan’s problems are my problems.”
Qin Yanan immediately huffed, “That’s more like it.”
As the trio exchanged banter, a customer had already arrived at the door.
Before the person even walked into the shop, his voice came through, “Mr. Zhang, any new arrivals at the shop lately? Bring them out and let me have a look.”
Upon seeing this person, Zhang Jicheng did not dare to be negligent and hurried forward to greet him, “Mr. Ma’s presence really graces my humble shop. We indeed just got some new items; I will have someone bring them to you…”
Actually, as soon as that voice had come in, Tang Feng found it somewhat familiar.
And when he turned around to look, he was instantly stunned.
Isn’t the world just too small?
Wasn’t this man Ma Wenbo, the one who had bought the gold nugget from him at the antique street before?
You could tell that there was a bit of arrogance about the man, even when he looked at Zhang Jicheng, it was with a somewhat condescending air.
Of course, Ma Wenbo probably didn’t mean it, it was just a habit.
“Yo, Mrs. Qin is here at the shop today too? How rare…”
After exchanging a few words with Zhang Jicheng, Ma Wenbo suddenly noticed Qin Yanan and promptly smiled and greeted her.
But he halted mid-sentence when he suddenly noticed Tang Feng beside her, “Mr. Tang? What are you doing here?”
As he spoke, he quickly walked over, virtually ignoring the beautiful Qin Yanan.
This surprised both Qin Yanan and Zhang Jicheng.
They were well aware of Ma Wenbo’s reputation.
This man was famous in the Zhonghai collection circles, usually too proud to bother with anyone.
Yet here he was, treating Tang Feng differently.
“I’m here to apply for the position of appraiser,” Tang Feng replied indifferently.
“Appraiser? Mr. Tang is actually Ya Garden’s appraiser?” Ma Wenbo was taken aback for a moment, then immediately turned to Qin Yanan with a bow, “Mr. Qin, congratulations, you’ve indeed found a treasure.”
Qin Yanan was utterly bewildered.
It’s one thing for Zhang Jicheng to say it, but why was even Ma Wenbo speaking the same way?
“How does Mr. Ma know Tang Feng?” she asked, puzzled.
“Ah, speaking of which, it’s really fate, just a moment ago…”
Ma Wenbo proceeded to recount the incident from the antique street, not able to help feeling emotional, “Mr. Tang’s appraisal skills are truly astounding! With Mr. Tang taking charge at Mr. Qin’s shop, the future is boundless!”
After listening to him, both Qin Yanan and Zhang Jicheng looked at Tang Feng in surprise.
They hadn’t realized that before coming to Ya Garden, he’d made a detour to the antique street and found a treasure.
Casually making a profit of five hundred thousand.
Qin Yanan suddenly felt that the salary of fifty thousand a month she was offering him seemed a bit meager.
But why had he still agreed to it?
Clearly not for the fifty thousand a month.
Could it be… for her?
She knew it, the kid had always had a crush on her.
Yet he usually pretended to be such a gentleman.
Hmph, turns out men are all insincere after all.
