Chapter 70: No Concerns
*Zush!*
Suddenly, the little light that could be seen from outside disappeared, and the airship disappeared underground. It didn\'t have the ability to drill. Instead, it entered a cave near a mountain, quite far away from the rest of the action.
The pilot skillfully controlled the airship while following a route pre-determined through the tunnels underground.
*Splash!*
Finally, it hit an underground water body. That was the main reason why few knew about the caves and the places they were connected to. The water made it hard to navigate. Even those who knew it weren\'t very sure if it was safe to get through. Nonetheless, the pilot knew what he signed for and continued to follow the route.
At the same time, several kilometers above the ground, the Xanzion and Heffal forces met once again. Heffal arrived earlier than Xanzion expected, forcing them to halt their advance and take Haffal head-on. That battle instantly turned into the biggest one to have happened between Heffal and Xanzion since the start of the invasion.
That was also part of the plan. To give the five hidden teams a chance to get rid of the provisions from Xanzion, Heffal country had to catch their attention. Engaging in that battle earlier than expected was their way to make Xanzion think they were taking the initiative.
Back underground, the pilot navigated the tunnels for twenty minutes straight. Twice, he hit a dead end and was forced to look for alternative routes on his own. Nonetheless, he still managed to go back to the route depicted on his equipment before exiting the tunnels filled with water.
-Attention. We are getting close to the dropping zone. Get ready.-
The pilot\'s voice echoed in the back as Linfel and the others waited.
Finally, the airship got to this drop zone and landed several hundreds of meters before it. All its lights were out, and its equipment was turned off almost instantly. A moment later, the back entrance of the airship opened, and Claus came out first, followed by Linfel and the others.
Claus quickly checked his MCOM. All the communication there was being interfered with, so he couldn\'t really connect to any network, nor did he intend to. He only used it to check the map. The location of their drop zone was initially blocked. Now, however, it has finally become available for Claus to see.
"Alright, according to the orders, Xanzion should be engaging our army in the Diangrun area. All their back support should be around seventy kilometers away. If what I\'m seeing here isn\'t wrong, they should be passing..." Claus\'s eyes opened wide as he looked up.
Everyone followed his eyes and noticed that the ground seemed to be trembling slightly. Claus\'s voice continued as they all looked at it. "They should be passing right above of us..."
Vera and Sando didn\'t waste time. She took out her own MCOM and checked her orders before darting into the distance. Claus and the others didn\'t even have time to ask her anything.
"Is that okay?" Falagita asked, worried.
However, Claus just shook his head. "Now that she doesn\'t need to hide her identity, she simply doesn\'t care. Leave her be. Our objective is to find a way to get rid of the provision vehicles passing over our heads. Let\'s go. The exit is on this side."
Their group followed Claus. Soon, they got to the exit, which was camouflaged.
"Claus," Alvin couldn\'t help but call his attention. "I was in a Field Exam when Volztain attacked. Their airships had equipment to find our location, and we were attacked twice. If we go out now, we will be found, won\'t we?"
"No," Claus shook his head in response. "In the same way that Xanzion is jamming all signals in this region, so is our Heffal Country. Their equipment shouldn\'t be very useful at the moment. If we could be spotted that easily, we wouldn\'t have been sent here in the first place. Let\'s go."
Claus was the first one to step out while the others followed him in a proper formation. Julius stayed at the very back, being the one with the least experience in their group. Finally, they sneaked through the vegetation and got to a vantage point where they could take a good look around.
"Just how are they expecting us to do anything here?" Falagita couldn\'t help but comment in a low voice. She just wanted to turn back and flee into the cave again.
There were hundreds of giant vehicles, and each one of them had its own defenses. They weren\'t like the Magical Tanks and airships, nowhere the same defense or attack. Nonetheless, they were definitely not something that their little group could do anything against. If they were lucky, they might be able to take down one or two before they are surrounded and killed, let alone hundreds.
Above them, a few airships patrolled in various directions. Xanzion wasn\'t a country of idiots. They knew that they needed their provision, so they left enough protection behind. Their main advantage was that they could spare the extra protection to their provision since Heffal Country had to deal with three countries at the same time.
They had the luxury of being on the safe side and still held the numeric advantage on the front lines.
Last but not least, although the majority weren\'t Maguses, there were still thousands of soldiers standing by those giant vehicles. Even if not a single one of them was a Magus or a Familiar, it would be a miracle if they could kill even a hundredth of them all. Each of them had their own magical firearms, the same type that Alvin\'s group had to deal with back in the Field Exam.
Everyone there thought it was a lost cause... except for one.
"Hum... no wonder we were brought here. We are in a great position to take everything down," said Linfel, who didn\'t seem the least bit concerned.
