Chapter 903 - Away
Chapter 903: Away
Man Xilou left with his hands over his wound.
“Anyway, just leave him alone. He has done what he can for the gang. He can leave if he wants to,” the Head said.
He could not keep Man Xilou, if Man Xilou did not want to stay. He did not actually belong to the Beihai Gang. He only stayed because he was capable of sneaking around, and was willing to help the brothers at the Beihai Gang. That was enough for them. The Beihai Gang could offer him food and drinks, but they did not expect him to sacrifice his life for the Beihai Gang.
Jin said nothing, despite being dissatisfied. He started to gather forces and talk about catching up with their enemies.
He managed to gather two boats full of people, with half hiding under water and the other above. They decided to attack when their enemies’ boat sank.
They did not wait for any longer… Instead, when their forces were gathered, they left camp directly.
When they reached their enemies’ boat, they would be given a better time to attack, because it would be evening time.
Jin got his brothers to dig a hole in the boat, whilst the other brothers were waiting until the boat sank, but after a long while, nothing was happening on their enemies’ boat.
So he got his men to take a look at what was going on there.
The man who went to check out the situation ran back in fright. “Second Chief, let’s just leave!”
“What happened?” Jin asked curiously.
“Our brothers who went to damage the boat are all dead! Some brothers’ bodies are floating on the surface, while some are missing! If not for the smell of the blood, I would not have taken a closer look and checked it out! I would have died too! Let’s just leave now, before they do anything to us on the boat! Let’s just leave!” That man was completely startled. Fear had covered his face, as he begged Jin desperately.
Jin’s face changed. His whole face twitched.
He thought of what Man Xilou had said – that coward was right!
Half of his men had died by this point and they did not even realize it. If they continued to follow the boat, they would end up having more dead bodies on their side. Jin just did not want to die, nor did he want to risk sacrificing his brothers’ lives any more.
Startled for a long while, he shouted. “Let’s go back to camp, everyone, now!”
“What about the brothers’ bodies?!” That man asked.
“They are all dead! No need to linger on them!” Jin bellowed.
That man’s face changed. He thought about saying something but dared not. Then he left to pass on the message.
The boat of the Beihai Gang did not even approach Zhou Huaijin’s boat before they ran away quickly.
When Wuhen saw the scene he wore a look of disbelief. Then he glanced at Zhou Huaijin who looked so calm. Wuhen had a complicated look on his face, and he flushed a little.
It was a peaceful night.
By noon of the next day, they arrived at Tongzhou ahead of time.
Wuhen said helplessly, seeing the boat approaching the bank. “Even if we stop at Tongzhou, we will not be able to find any hostels. Also, we need wagons and food to travel. Why bother?”
“Don’t worry, I will get everything ready for us,” Zhou Huaijin said.
Wuhen snorted as he looked at Zhou Huaijin.
They were not on the boat any more, and they needed to get everything ready before they started to travel in Tongzhou. It was just a small town, not the capital.
“Anyway, I will leave everything in your hands.”
