Chapter 77: | 077 | The Awaited Talks

Abraham wanted to talk with the commanding officer of the other side himself but was dissuaded by his high officers. While he wasn\'t willing to give up becoming part of the talks, Charlotte fully dissuaded him with a cite.

She said that as the Fleet Admiral of the United Navy. Abraham had a position and power that shouldn\'t be used everywhere. His actions had an influence on the United Navy.

If something does happen to him, the United Navy will declare war without hesitation and delay. They would absolutely decimate without mercy unleashing whatever armaments they held in their arsenal.

Even If their adversaries decided to pursue peace, the United Navy would probably not accept it.

With this in mind, Abraham had to take a step back from the diplomatic talks and let Charlotte handle it instead. According to some high officers, he also shouldn\'t lower himself for some random commanding officer of an enemy fleet.

It was also the job of diplomatic officers to be in the diplomatic talks, not his.

These various arguments completely dissuaded him from entering the diplomatic talks, though that didn\'t mean he gave up. He would instead command the Red Fleet and his UNS Trinity of Solace in case the adversary decided to use force.

The preparation for the diplomatic talks was heavy. Various Anti-Magus Guns, or Anzio 20mm Vulcan were boarded into the frigates. They would be used to counter Magus or War Masters in enemy ships.

Various MMLs(Multi-Mission Launchers) were also pointed towards the designated location of the diplomatic talks. When sh*t hits the fan. They would be expected to blow every enemy in that general direction.

Other than this, there was also the combined defensive fleet or the Aegis Fleet for short. It was a strategic formation used when two or more fleets were called upon to integrate one another.

The current Aegis Fleet, commanded by none other than Fleet Admiral Abraham Shepherd, was composed of UNS Trinity of Solace, UNS Svetlana, UNS Alyona, UNS Lenya, and UNS Zarya.

They dwelled 7.5 clicks away from the leading warships, hiding behind the lines of the boundless horizon.

"Vice Admiral, we have detected various radar signatures 5 clicks forward." Inside the UNS Light Bringer, a radar operator reported to a gorgeous lady with silver-blond hair and grayish yet empty eyes.

Charlotte glanced at the radar operator and calmly nodded in understanding. It seems that their adversary was ready for the talks.

"How many are they?" Charlotte calmly inquired the radar operator about their numbers.

"There should be about a dozen of them. Most are longer than 200 meters, signifying their large radar signature. They also have a cruising speed of 24 knots." The radar operator reported everything to the Vice Admiral.

"I see… It seems that their ships aren\'t to be underestimated." Charlotte squinted her eyes as former medieval ships in their old world didn\'t surpass 100 meters until ship steel-building was generalized.

It looks like the direction of ships in this foreign world was far different than their older ones. Though, quite understandable. In the old world, they didn\'t have magic to help them. They needed to build their ships that followed the rules of nature.

Otherwise, it would sink to the bottom of the ocean.

"It shouldn\'t take a while before we arrive at our designated meeting," Charlotte muttered under her breath as she watched the horizon before them through the monitor screen.

"Have you detected wyvern riders on the radar?" She glanced at a nearby radar operator as wyvern riders were their only aerial threat, so they must be under strict surveillance.

"Yes, Vice Admiral. Several wyvern squadrons have been detected in the radar system. They should number around half a hundred. They are currently circling around the main fleet of enemy ships." The radar operator aloofly reported.

Before Charlotte could respond to the radar operator, an intelligence officer intruded into their conversation.

"Vice Admiral, our adversaries have appeared on the horizon." Following the intelligence officer\'s words, Charlotte looked at the monitor screen and saw several large battleships.

Their size wasn\'t to be underestimated as each ship had a mass of over 100 meters, which was fairly massive even by the standards of the United Navy.

The Vice Admiral raised an eyebrow as seeing their enormous size personally was quite astounding. Such giant wooden ships that shouldn\'t have been possible in their former world.

It sailed before them.

"It seems that the diplomatic talks have begun," Charlotte mumbled while furrowing her eyebrows. She hoped that the diplomatic talks would go well, but it was merely hope.

She needed to be realistic and ready for what could happen.

Meanwhile, in the leading battleship of the Fleet Principatus Humanum, Everlasting Sun. Captain Stolz stood before its bow while a smirk plastered on his face. He observed the metallic warships in the distance and remarked.

"So they are the hidden force in this sea, huh? I was expecting a fleet to meet us. Not two ships." He lightly chuckled but was interrupted by a rough voice behind him.

"You shouldn\'t underestimate them, Captain Stolz. Their capabilities are unknown to us. It\'s better to tread with cautiousness." War Master Theodore remarked with a scrutinizing gaze.

"Their capabilities or power doesn\'t matter. We already have orders from the top. The Sovereigns want them dead and their technology to be recovered." Captain Stolz squinted his eyes.

While he respected the War Master who was with him for years, he still had orders that he needed to follow.

"I am merely warning you."

"This United Navy isn\'t to be underestimated." Theodore sighed while staring at the two metallic warships.
