Wen Ran gave a smirk, of course, she has good judgement.

“Xiaoxiao, what got into you just now?”

Wen Ran comfortably leaned against the back of her chair, her eyes filled with amusement as she watched the man expertly steering the vehicle. Even his side profile made her feel he was incredibly handsome and perfect.

Bai Xiaoxiao on the other side of the phone gave a long sigh, explaining, “My mom is forcing me to meet this self-righteous guy. All he did was brag about how successful he is on Wall Street…”

Wen Ran subconsciously glanced at Mo Xiuchen sitting beside her, who wore a faint smile. She wasn’t sure if he was listening to Bai Xiaoxiao’s complaint.

“What’s with Aunt Qiao this time? Back when you were head over heels for Xiao Yuting, I didn’t see her trying to save you like this,”

Wen Ran queried with a puzzled look.

“Let’s not talk about that. Did you say earlier that you’ve brought cherries for me? Where are you now?”

Such a foodie. As soon as the conversation turned to food, she forgot everything else.

“Come to my place. I’ll be home soon.”

Having ended the call with Bai Xiaoxiao, Wen Ran dialed Luo Haofeng’s number.

“Hello, Wen Ran,”

After two rings, Luo Haofeng picked up. His clear voice travelled through the phone, and Wen Ran casually asked, “Luo Haofeng, are you busy right now?”

“No, what’s the matter?”

“Mo Xiuchen and I picked some cherries from the countryside. I’ve already called Xiaoxiao, and she’s on her way to our house. Do you want to join? If so, you can come over, too. We’ll be home shortly.”

“Sure!”

Hearing that Bai Xiaoxiao was heading to their house, Luo Haofeng instantly agreed.

“Ranran, are you playing matchmaker?”

Mo Xiuchen asked with a chuckle after she hung up.

Wen Ran raised an eyebrow and confidently spoke, “If I can help a pair of lovebirds come together, it’ll be a joyous thing. Not only for Luo Haofeng and Xiaoxiao, but also for my two elder brothers, and even Qin Mu. I really wish I could pair them all up.”

“Ranran, don’t tell me you’re planning to take matchmaking as your career?”

Mo Xiuchen mocked. Wen Ran remained ambiguous, “Why not? After the busy period at the pharmaceutical factory ends, my brother probably won’t let me return. I will have lots of free time; I should find something to do.”

“Ranran, you can come to City C and stay with me.”

Mo Xiuchen’s gaze deepened. He wasn’t sure if it was just his imagination, but he always felt like Wen Ran knew something. Yet, her expressions were so natural, and her words were convincing enough that he found no flaws.

Suppressing his suspicion, he figured he was just being overly sensitive.

If Wen Ran really did know how he had cured her, she would definitely confront him, stay by his side, and never drive him away.

Blinking her eyes, Wen Ran jovially retorted, “No, I’ll wait for you to come back and see me. If you get charmed by another woman in City C and forget about me, I’ll look for another handsome man.”

“You dare.”

Mo Xiuchen furrowed his brows, his tone authoritative.

“Of course I dare.”

Using a playful tone, Wen Ran continued, “So, you better be thinking about me all the time.”

“Ranran.”

While stopped at a red light, Mo Xiuchen turned to look at Wen Ran. His voice held a hint of hesitance as he called her name.

“Hmm?”

Wen Ran answered with a smile, her stunning beauty and charm was unable to hide. There was not a hint of reluctance in her eyes. Mo Xiuchen’s unease again melted away within her clear eyes.

He lifted his hand and gently ruffled her hair, declaring in a domineering manner, “Not just this lifetime, but in any future lifetimes, you can only belong to me and me alone.”

By the time Bai Xiaoxiao arrived at Mo Xiuchen’s home, they hadn’t arrived yet. Nanny Zhang welcomed her inside.

She didn’t go into the living room, but sat at the small round table in the courtyard instead. Nanny Zhang made her a cup of coffee. Here, she could bask in the sun as well as enjoy the scent of flowers.

After about five minutes, she heard a car approaching. She glanced outside the villa, but it wasn’t Mo Xiuchen’s car.

The sports car parked outside the villa, and Luo Haofeng got out. His gaze passed over the beautifully carved gate, landing her.

Upon meeting his gaze, Bai Xiaoxiao felt her heart skip a beat.

“Xiaoxiao!”

Standing in front of her, Luo Haofeng looked deeply into her eyes. His tall figure cast a shadow over her, replacing the sunlight. His presence made her heart race.

“Why are you here?”

Bai Xiaoxiao asked in surprise. The moment the words left her mouth, she recalled something and forced a smile.

Luo Haofeng promptly grasped her hand, “Wen Ran called me and said you were here, so I hurried over. Why haven’t you been coming to the office these days? Why didn’t you answer my calls?”

Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t pull her hand away from his grip, but instead, cherished the warmth in his palm. It seemed to have a warming effect on her heart.

She sat back down, gesturing for Luo Haofeng to sit as well.

“I caught a little cold, so I took a few days off to rest at home.”

“You caught a cold?” Hearing this, Luo Haofeng reached out to touch her forehead. Bai Xiaoxiao’s heart softened. Suppressing the urge to moisten her lips, she spoke softly, “My mom still doesn’t agree with us being together.”

Gazing at him, she called his name softly, “Haofeng, for a while, don’t call me. If I need something, I’ll call you. I’m trying to persuade my dad to talk to mom…”

Her words were a bit disjointed, but Luo Haofeng understood what she meant.

“Alright, I won’t call you.”

Luo Haofeng stated calmly.

He didn’t tell her that her mother had sought him out. Right now, he was handling his father’s business in G City, which involved transactions with Bai Xiaoxiao’s company. He had visited Bai Xiaoxiao’s company in the recent days, but he hadn’t seen her.

After hearing Luo Haofeng’s response, Bai Xiaoxiao could not help but feel guilt. She was about to say something when Luo Haofeng beat her to it, “We have a whole lifetime ahead of us. I’ll work hard to make your mom accept me sooner rather than later. Xiaoxiao, you shouldn’t feel burdened either. Don’t quarrel with your mom on my account.”

“Your mom may want to fix you up with other guys, just like before. You don’t need to refuse, go ahead and meet them.”

Bai Xiaoxiao’s eyes widened in surprise as she looked at Luo Haofeng.

“Hee Hee, Xiaoxiao, your expression… Could it be I’m right? Have you been going on blind dates these days? Don’t worry, I’m not upset; nor will I get angry about that. In fact, I’m quite happy.”

“You’re happy that my mom wants me to go on blind dates?”

Bai Xiaoxiao asked in confusion. He wasn’t losing his mind, was he?

“Yes, I’m quite happy.” Luo Haofeng’s teasing voice filled with amusement, “After so many blind dates, you haven’t been attracted to any other man. Instead, you tell me that you are going to persuade your mother. This just proves that, in your heart, I’m better than all of them.”
