Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1120: Section 1121: Nitotipu's Weakness

Angel had originally thought that Sanders would ask him about the owner of the night establishment and his relationship with them. He was wrestling with whether or not to speak out when unexpectedly, Sanders decisively ended the communication.

Angel was somewhat stunned as he handed the communicator back to Samantha.

Samantha, expressionless, took the communicator and then said to Kanter, “It’s time to go. Maher just sent a message saying that Sinafa will soon arrive at the southeast corner of the Hunting Museum. Let’s go there to meet her.”

Kanter nodded. He turned to Angel and said softly, “Your mentor is right, you have to take care of yourself. Are you sure you’ll be okay?”

Kanter’s question seemed out of the blue, but Angel understood that the subtext was an inquiry about the threat level posed by Fafnir.

“I’m fine, my task is completed, and I will leave once the blockade over Lassudral is lifted. Don’t worry, there will be no trouble,” Angel said.

Kanter chuckled and nodded, “That’s good, my Qi Li is still waiting for you…”

Angel’s expression stiffened, thinking that Kanter was about to set him up again.

“…for the Transforming Soft-bodied Insect.” Kanter deliberately drew out a breath before finishing the sentence.

Angel’s expression darkened, “The Pliant Worm is currently in an offense and defense with the Dreamweaver Ant, and no Transforming Soft-bodied Insect has been born yet. But once there is a breakthrough, I will certainly keep it for Qi Li.”

Kanter nodded and, urged on by Samantha’s prompting, mouthed the words “take care” in lip-speak before turning to leave. Their figures slowly faded into the white smoke until they disappeared.

Angel stood in place for a long time, then let out a quiet sigh, glanced at the floating Icebound Hex beside him, shook his head, and returned to the Domain of Wind.

Once back in the Domain of Wind, Canaan was still busily enjoying Magic Marrow Meat dipped in red wine, while Fafnir leaned against the treetop, gazing into the distance, lost in thought.

Angel was clear that the things he had said outside probably couldn’t be kept from them. However, judging by their attitudes, they seemed to be… not minding, right?

“Owner, can we watch the live broadcast? Eating without anything to watch feels like something is missing,” Canaan, now the epitome of a ‘binge-watching girl,’ asked Angel.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Angel responded with an “oh,” looked at Fafnir, who didn’t seem to have much to say, and reconnected his consciousness to the high winds above.

The live broadcast of the Illusionary Realm in the courtyard resumed.

Angel himself was also eager to know what the Wizards’ response would be now that they had been informed of the humans’ extermination plan.

As he looked towards the floating ice, he noticed that although the mood among the people was a bit strange, everything seemed as usual… not quite completely normal though, as he spotted some members of Frostmoon appearing to set something up around the floating ice.

While it was somewhat curious, Angel simply harbored his doubts. Perhaps Lord Monty had other ways to deal with the Void’s disturbances?

His gaze returned to Sanders.

Come to think of it, Angel had previously noticed that the mood among those on the floating ice was off, with a significant portion of their gazes fixed on Sanders—some were resentful, some puzzled, but mostly, there were looks of jealousy.

A female witch holding a hardcovered book angrily asked Sanders, “Illusion Demon, aren’t you being too selfish? If it were you asking Angel, he certainly would not have hidden anything. But why did you not ask anything?”

Sanders coldly glanced at Rivetta, who immediately froze as if a thousand-ton mountain had crashed down upon her Spirit Sea.

Rivetta suddenly regretted her impulsiveness, having been too eager to learn about the relationships between the owner of the night establishment, Feng, and Angel, she forgot the unbridgeable chasm that existed between herself and Sanders.

It was only when her Spirit Sea was about to collapse that Sanders shifted his gaze, giving Rivetta a chance to breathe.

“Rivetta, you should consider Angel’s position too,” Monty chimed in late, “Angel has a powerful existence backing him, and the attitude of this supreme being is still unclear. On one hand, not far from them is the Hunting Museum where the owner of the night establishment is also present. With such proximity, wouldn’t it be easy for the owner of the night establishment to know what Angel is saying?”

Not to mention, the object of discussion is someone about to ascend to a throne as a prospective ruler. Even if any other wizard were close by, secretly being discussed, it’s likely the wizard would be upset.

Even more so, the owner of the night establishment has a very special identity, and forcing Angel to answer might even provoke resentment in the owner against humans.

Monty’s words did indeed make sense. However, the fact that he chose to speak only after everyone had become discontent with Sanders was clearly intentional.

The news brought by Angel was a timely rain and very beneficial for them, a point Monty didn’t deny, even promising the highest commendation. But this didn’t mean Monty would respond emotionally with blind gratitude; rather, he would weigh even more rationally the ripple effect Angel’s news might have, as well as its impact on the Frostmoon Alliance.

Monty was well aware that while Angel’s news was currently positive, it would also slowly bring criticisms upon the Frostmoon Alliance from public opinion. If an Apprentice could achieve something the Wizards’ Alliance could not, it would reflect poorly on them.

Therefore, Monty didn’t mind manipulating the situation to smooth over any possible future public opinion. Sanders still had much strength; he himself would not make a move against Sanders, but stirring up emotions to lay the groundwork was something he could do with ease.

“Oh, heavens! What are you all thinking at a time like this?” Mu Ying spoke with a dramatic cadence, “Damn it! Are you bees in the garden, leisurely gossiping when we’re in such a critical situation? The most urgent matter now, apart from that so-called purging plan, isn’t it to find a way to destroy those two Blood Cocoons? We finally gained the upper hand, only to have it overturned by Nitotipu. If we keep stalling, and they heal their wounds, even if we could win then, I estimate more will die!”

“Are you planning to put my corpse in a splendid casket inlaid with emeralds and present it to my mentor Kundela, staging a ‘Romeo and Juliet’ parting of life and death?”

Though Mu Ying’s words were neurotic, they steered everyone’s focus away from Sanders and back on track.

However, Mu Ying’s words weren’t entirely correct. While indeed a part of them focused on Sanders, in actuality, those people were the wizards left behind on the floating ice, and those currently engaging in a battle of wits with Nitotipu on the front lines were still not in the minority.

The fact that they were able to hold out until now was thanks to the persistence of this group.

But Nitotipu, compared to other great Demons, was just too powerful; up until now, they hadn’t even been able to penetrate Nitotipu’s rain cloud.

The conditions concealed within the dense fog of the rain cloud were also not immediately known.

“Mu Ying is right, we can’t squander our earlier advantage. Up to this point, we have already sacrificed many lives just to kill one great Demon. We must think of a way to kill them before they can fully recover from their injuries,” a wizard said.

“I recall Samantha and Kanter had encountered Nitotipu before, didn’t they? Captain Maher, perhaps you could inquire about their previous encounter to see if Nitotipu has any weaknesses,” Rivetta suggested.

Soon, Maher got in touch with Samantha.

“Sinafa hasn’t arrived yet. Maher, what’s the matter?” a cold voice sounded from the communicator.

Maher explained their current predicament, and after he finished, there was a long silence from the communicator. After a while, Samantha’s voice came through, “Nitotipu’s strength is despairingly great.”

A simple sentence, but the meaning it conveyed made everyone’s expression turn sour.

“Is there no way to deal with it?”

Samantha: “We haven’t discovered any weaknesses. Perhaps, a more formidable force is needed to suppress it.”

A more formidable force? Do they have to fire the Chaos Mana Cannon again?

While everyone was lost in their chaotic thoughts, Kanter’s voice suddenly came from the other end of the communicator, “I casually asked Angel about great Demons during one of our chats.”

Kanter’s words brightened everyone’s spirits. Of course, if Angel learned about the Demons’ purging plans, he likely knew some secrets of the great Demons, which they hadn’t considered before. Luckily, Kanter had asked.

“Nitotipu is an ocean Demon, and its actual strength isn’t as formidable as imagined. However, within the rain cloud, it’s nearly invincible. There’s even a rumor among the Demons that battling Nitotipu inside the rain cloud, even if the other six members of the great Demons join forces, might not inflict any harm upon Nitotipu.”

“Therefore, to defeat Nitotipu, we must first disperse the rain cloud.”

Kanter’s words shifted the target of their struggle against Nitotipu to dispersing the rain cloud. Before, no one had considered that the rain cloud was the key to Nitotipu.

Because in their view, aside from a power that could obscure their vision, the rain cloud seemed quite ordinary.

Previously, ‘Black Dragon’ Issac had even ventured into the rain cloud and found nothing unusual. The rain was ordinary rain, and the fog contained no special components.

However, since it was Angel who had said it, it must hold some level of credibility.

“Then let’s try to disperse this rain cloud,” Maher said, “Let’s start with the Elemental wind type wizards to see if they can blow away the rain cloud.”

With the plan set in motion, someone immediately began to mobilize.

Rivetta, being a Wind Whisperer wizard with her element leaning towards wind, was more adept at using wind for support through Wind Whispering, but she could also conjure attacking hurricanes.

So Rivetta was sent to the front lines.

The power of wind emanated from the wizards, and although each wielded a different type of wind, all were within the frequency of the Wind Sequence. These winds didn’t act independently; instead, they merged into a gust with much greater impact.

The howling wind was piercing to the ears.

In this dark gray tempest, any creature caught within would be instantly stripped to the bone, much less disperse clouds and fog.

Everyone was full of confidence, and Nereus, Issac, and others were ready to launch a strong assault on the great Demon once the rain cloud disappeared.
