Chapter 138 Scarbody
The other classes who had their own booths were a bit annoyed at how the lowest class in the first-year level was able to garner so much attention.
However, at the same time, they couldn\'t deny that they were also intrigued about their concept.
It was, indeed, an ingenious idea from them.
Therefore, it didn\'t take long before the seats they had prepared were all taken. As a result, a lot of the spectators were forced to stand at the back to get a glimpse of the show.
Bao smiled widely when he saw the large crowd forming from backstage.
"Are you done?" he loudly asked, his gaze still focused on the crowd.
Kai sighed deeply before opening the curtain. With the sound of the curtain opening, Bao quickly turned around to look at his friend.
He was going to thank Kai again for joining the competition on such short notice, but his words got stuck in the back of his throat as Kai\'s toned and scarred body was put on full display.
The dress they had made fit perfectly on him. In fact, it seemed like it was made for him and not for Rambo.
"Holy Moly!" Bao exclaimed. "Your body."
Kai sighed before pursing his lips.
"Please, don\'t make this weird," he pleaded.
"I\'m not," Bao said, still amazed that a fellow 16-year-old like Kai was able to achieve such a great body. There was no wonder that he was an immovable force in the court!
Kai clicked his tongue. "I\'m the last one to be called, right?"
Bao nodded. "We\'ll be starting with the first section of the higher years. Then, everyone will follow that order."
Kai hummed. "I\'ll go back inside the curtain then. I don\'t want other people to see me."
With that, Kai turned around, and Bao couldn\'t help but let out a small gasp.
"That\'s—"
Meanwhile, on the main stage, the third-year students were already battling it off on the runway.
The people exclaimed every time a new representative came out. There was no doubt that the participants worked hard for the competition, and because of their cheers, more and more people came to visit the event.
Yumi smiled from the side as she watched the garden get filled with students and visitors alike.
"Let\'s move on to our second years!" she exclaimed, eliciting another loud cheer from the crowd.
Yani and Suzy, who were watching from afar, couldn\'t help but stop and stare when they heard their grade level being mentioned.
"I want to see," Yani said.
Suzy shook her head in amusement. "I thought you didn\'t want to go?"
Yani clicked her tongue. "That was before. I thought only the first-years would be having fun. Let\'s leave the booth for a moment and watch the show!"
Suzy looked around before nodding, also curious about what was going on.
Meanwhile, Justin Liang, who was busy unloading the cookies, also wanted to watch the show. He nudged Junior\'s shoulder, causing the former to look at him.
"Hmm?" Junior hummed.
"Let\'s watch," Justin simply said.
Junior glanced at the runway before nodding. "Let\'s leave this to the first-year students."
As soon as the second-year representatives were done with their respective runways, it was now time for the first-year students to take the stage.
Starting from the first section, their representative wore a mermaid-inspired dress that made him unable to walk due to the constrictive skirt. In the end, he succeeded by hopping on the stage, making the people burst into cheers of amusement.
The second one wasn\'t any better. He was dressed as a fairy, but his wings fell off in the middle of his walk, so he acted like he was genuinely hurt.
The third section seemed to have put the most effort into it, as their representative even had a full face of glamorous make-up! The crowd cheered louder compared to the last sections.
The other representatives continued, with Kai watching them from backstage.
As the person before him entered the stage, it was only then that he realized what he was going to do.
"I\'m insane for doing this," he muttered.
At that point, he wanted to run away and take back his words. However, the image of new basketball shoes emerged in his mind, making him stand still.
That was right!
His current shoes were giving him a hard time, so he needed to buy new ones if he wanted to play well against the Feng Foxes.
Then, the person before Kai finally arrived, seemingly satisfied with their performance.
With that, Kai took a deep breath and swallowed all his pride.
"Go!" Bao exclaimed from behind him, so without any hesitation, he walked to the stage, revealing himself to the student population.
As he arrived in the middle, the crowd\'s initial reaction was a loud, \'Waaah!\' because of Kai\'s body.
It was undoubtedly the biggest and most toned of all of the contestants, and people in the audience couldn\'t help but feel amazed as they saw him.
The wrestling team, which was situated at the side, glanced at each other in surprise.
"He\'s perfect for the team!"
Meanwhile, the Judo team, which was right by their side, shook their heads after they heard what the wrestling team had said.
"No. A body like that belongs to ours."
On the other side, Justin and Junior stood side by side. Justin\'s eyebrows raised in surprise when he realized that the participant was none other than the person who kicked back the ball toward them during their practice game—the one he was looking for!
Justin tilted his head to the side.
"Don\'t you think he\'s got a good body for a Winger?" he asked.
Max Zhou, who was yet to be recognized by the students of Shizi High, narrowed his eyes at the participant\'s arm before looking down at his own.
"He\'s bigger," he muttered.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
However, his comparison was cut short when he heard Fabin exclaim.
"Holy crap! That\'s the guy who delivers onions."
Max\'s eyes widened in surprise as he turned his gaze to the stage once again.
Kai was already at the end of the runway, posing cutely (but still looking very intimidating). It was only then that most people realized that it was actually Kai!
"They got him to do this?"
"Holy crap! His body\'s better than I thought."
"That sounds weird."
"I mean—it feels like he\'ll be great at sports."
"Well, he is doing a pretty good job on the basketball team."
Because of this shock, the cheers and murmurs were the loudest to be heard in the entire competition.
Bao shook his head with a smile. It seemed like Kai was going to win the 500-dollar prize after all!
With that, Kai swallowed his pride and posed one last time. Then, he turned around to return backstage.
However, as he turned around, the people, especially those at the front, couldn\'t help but exclaim in surprise once they saw what was on his back.
Scars.
Plenty of scars.
