Chapter 256 The Academy Faces the Crisis of Annihilation
Hearing this, everyone halted their attacks, looking at him in confusion.
"Professor Dean, do you have a plan?" the principal asked.
Dean Bruce nodded. "I have an idea, but I will need everyone\'s cooperation."
He then explained his plan to the group. After listening, everyone nodded in agreement.
Under Dean Bruce\'s direction, they began to implement the plan. They combined light magic with elemental magics, working together to weaken the magic circle\'s defensive power.
The mysterious figures, seeing this, were shocked. They hadn\'t expected Dean Bruce and the others to figure out a way to break the magic circle.
"Quickly, increase the magic output! We can\'t let them succeed!" one of the mysterious figures shouted.
However, it was already too late. Through their combined efforts, Dean Bruce and his group finally overwhelmed the magic circle\'s defenses, and with a resounding crash, the circle collapsed. The powerful dark energy dissipated into nothingness.
"We did it!" Dean Bruce shouted in excitement.
The others cheered, celebrating the hard-earned victory.
The mysterious figures, seeing their defeat, scattered in all directions, clearly too afraid to stay any longer.
The principal walked up to Dean Bruce and clapped him on the shoulder. "Professor Dean, you did well. Thanks to you, we were able to stop this disaster."
Dean Bruce smiled and shook his head. "It was a team effort. But Principal, we can\'t let our guard down. We need to strengthen the academy\'s defenses to prevent something like this from happening again."
The principal nodded. "You\'re right. I will make arrangements immediately to enhance the academy\'s security."
Just then, Montaris Alice approached, her face full of concern. "Professor Dean, are you all okay?"
Dean Bruce looked at Montaris Alice\'s worried expression, and a warmth spread through him. He knew that although Montaris Alice could be somewhat persistent at times, she was also a kind person who genuinely cared about others.
"We\'re fine, Mrs. Montaris," Dean Bruce said. "Thank you for your concern."
Montaris Alice smiled. "I\'m glad to hear that. By the way, Professor Dean, I have a request. I\'m not sure if you would agree to it."
Dean Bruce blinked in surprise. "What request?"
Montaris Alice looked him in the eye. "I would like you to teach me magic, so I can become stronger."
Dean Bruce was taken aback. He hadn\'t expected Montaris Alice to make such a request.
"Mrs. Montaris, why do you want to learn magic?" Dean Bruce asked, curious.
Montaris Alice sighed. "Actually, I\'ve always envied those who possess magical powers. I believe that if I could learn magic, I would be able to protect myself and the people around me more effectively."
Dean Bruce looked at Montaris Alice\'s determined expression, and a wave of emotion stirred within him. He knew that Montaris Alice was a brave and strong person, someone with her own pursuits and dreams.
"Alright, Mrs. Montaris," Dean Bruce said. "I can teach you some basic magical knowledge, but you should understand that learning magic is not an easy task. It requires a lot of effort and time."
Montaris Alice\'s eyes gleamed with excitement. "I know, Professor Dean. I will work hard to learn. I won\'t let you down."
Dean Bruce smiled and nodded. "That\'s good to hear. However, we should head back now. Everyone is tired and needs some rest."
With that, under Dean Bruce\'s lead, the group made their way back to the academy.
However, just as they were nearing the academy, a massive explosion suddenly rang out from the direction of the academy, followed by a thick column of smoke rising high into the sky.
"This is bad, something\'s happened at the academy!" Dean Bruce\'s face changed drastically, and he immediately quickened his pace, rushing toward the academy.
The others hurried after him, anxiety and fear filling their hearts. When they arrived at the academy, they saw that it had been engulfed in flames, with fire raging uncontrollably and buildings collapsing. Students were running in panic, fleeing in every direction.
"Hurry, everyone, rescue the students!" Dean Bruce shouted, raising his wand and casting healing magic, trying to treat the injured students.
The academy\'s teachers also sprang into action, using their own magic to help Dean Bruce rescue the students. However, the fire was so fierce that they quickly found themselves overwhelmed.
"This isn\'t working!" The principal said anxiously. "We need to find the source of the fire and put it out quickly."
Dean Bruce nodded. "I\'ll go find the source of the fire. You all keep rescuing people."
With that, he rushed toward the area where the fire was most intense. He pushed through the blazing flames and arrived in the midst of a ruined area. There, he saw a massive magic circle glowing with blinding light, and a powerful dark energy was pouring out from it. This was the very force that had caused the fire.
"So it\'s a dark magic circle!" Dean Bruce thought to himself in alarm. He hadn\'t expected that those mysterious figures had set up such a powerful dark magic array inside the academy.
He immediately waved his wand and began chanting the counter-spell to break the magic circle. However, the dark magic array was exceptionally powerful, and his incantation seemed to have little effect.
"Damn it!" Dean Bruce cursed under his breath. He knew that he had to find a way to break the magic circle quickly, or the entire academy would be destroyed.
Just then, he suddenly remembered Morgana\'s words. Although he would never learn dark magic, perhaps he could use some knowledge of it to find a way to dismantle the magic circle.
Closing his eyes, he began to feel the fluctuations of the dark magic array\'s power. As his perception deepened, he could almost see the runes and lines of the magic circle flashing with light.
"I found it!" Dean Bruce thought with a surge of hope. He had discovered a crucial rune node if he destroyed it, the entire magic circle would be neutralized.
He immediately waved his wand, sending a brilliant beam of light toward the rune node. With a loud "boom," the rune node was successfully destroyed, and the light of the dark magic array dimmed instantly.
"We did it!" Dean Bruce exclaimed, thrilled. He knew that the fire had finally been brought under control.
However, just as he was about to leave, a familiar figure suddenly appeared before him Morgana.
"Dean Bruce, you didn\'t disappoint me after all," Morgana said with a smile. "But do you think you can stop me with this? How naïve."
Dean Bruce furrowed his brows. "Morgana, what exactly do you want?"
Morgana smiled again. "I just want you to understand that the power of dark magic is far stronger than you can imagine. If you\'re willing to join us, I can teach you even more powerful dark magic."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Dean Bruce shook his head firmly. "I won\'t join you. Dark magic only brings destruction and disaster. I will protect this world with light magic."
Upon hearing this, Morgana\'s expression darkened. "In that case, don\'t say I didn\'t warn you."
With that, she raised her wand and launched an attack at Dean Bruce. Seeing this, Dean Bruce immediately countered with his own spell.
The two instantly engaged in a fierce battle. Morgana\'s dark magic was cold and sinister, while Dean Bruce\'s light magic was fiery and divine. Their magic collided and intertwined in the air, emitting blinding light and powerful energy waves.
The surrounding flames seemed to intensify, as though affected by their battle. But Dean Bruce did not retreat; he gripped his wand tightly and fought Morgana with all his might.
After a fierce battle, Dean Bruce finally spotted a weakness in Morgana\'s defense. Seizing the opportunity, he waved his wand, and a brilliant beam of light struck Morgana in an instant. Morgana let out a scream as she was sent flying backward.
"Dean, are you alright?" At that moment, Prolo Hawthorne and the others rushed over, their faces filled with concern.
Dean Bruce shook his head. "I\'m fine. You all go and help the students. I\'ll handle things here."
Prolo Hawthorne and the others nodded and went off to assist the students, while Dean Bruce stood over Morgana, feeling a complex surge of emotions.
He knew that while he had succeeded in defeating Morgana this time, the threat of dark forces had not been completely eradicated. He had to continue working to strengthen his own power so that he could better protect this world.
"Morgana, I won\'t let you win," Dean Bruce muttered under his breath, then waved his wand to seal Morgana away.
Afterward, he joined the efforts to help the students, working with the others to extinguish the flames and tend to the injured. After a period of intense struggle, the fire was finally brought under control, and the academy gradually began to return to a semblance of peace.
However, the disaster had caused immense damage and pain to the academy.
Many buildings were destroyed, and numerous students were injured or had lost their lives. Dean Bruce looked at the devastation, a deep sense of sorrow and guilt swelling within him.
"I will avenge you all," Dean Bruce silently vowed. "I won\'t let a single one of those dark forces escape! I will find out what this dark force really is!"
