Chapter 94 - "YOU ARE NOT THAT IMPORTANT TO ME! "
"Tinsley Rutherford living in a town would have been a myth ten years earlier."
I giggled at that remark. It was true. Nathan joined me in with his laughter as we drove home.
"So Kian huh??"
I nodded my head. Why was it so hard for him to grasp that fact?? Was it that unbelievable??
Me and Kian?? Did we not seem like to be a couple??
"You know him??"
"Of course, I do. We have encountered several times in official meetings."
He said. It made sense then why he could not believe me and Kian to be together.
"I always thought him to be with Thea Stilton?? "
When he said that, I looked in his way a bit taken aback. Thea Stilton??
I had never heard that name before. Was it the woman Valeria was talking about?? Was she the one Kian promised to??
"So it\'s just hard to believe you both...you know."
He continued. I did not say a word. I was too disturbed to even think about anything else.
Kian with another woman...it burnt my heart and soul. I could not even comprehend the fact.
"Tinsley?? Are you there??"
His loud voice snapped me out of my thoughts. What was he saying again??
"Yes??"
"How did you both meet??"
He asked and the question made me wonder where to start. Should I start from our childhood days or from when we met a few months ago??
"I have known him all my life...we..we kinda grew up together."
I started, remembering our days as children, playing around the vast land of the countryside.
It was the start. It was how we grew up to fall in love. He became the symbol of my carefree side and when I was with him, the world felt so lose and relaxing on my shoulder.
"I...I did not know you both grew up together."
Nathan replied. He must be wondering how come he never had any encounter with Kian when we were kids and attended the parties and events.
Only because, Kian, back then was the son of a maid and was not allowed to attend such kind of event.
"So what about you?? Any woman in your life??"
I tried to divert the questions onto him now. Enough with me. I had not much interest to intrude in his life yet to carry on with the flow of conversation.
"Why do you ask??"
"And why not??"
I reverted his question back, smiling at him. He shrugged it off saying there was not much going on with his life other than work at the moment.
Soon, we reached my destination and I was glad to be home. Nathan pulled out an umbrella for me and I thanked him, saying that I would return this some other day.
When his car was out of sight, I climbed back inside the building, holding the two bags of veggies and fruits.
On reaching my floor, I was about to unlock the door open but it barged open all of a sudden and my husband stood on the threshold.
It seemed like he had been waiting for me for a long time and knew about my arrival beforehand.
"A very rainy day!!"
I exclaimed, getting in. He closed the door and snatched the bags away from my hold and walked away to the kitchen, not saying a word.
I did not know what was wrong and what was his reason for being grumpy out of nowhere. So I followed him to the kitchen.
"How was your day??"
I implored, trying to stir up a conversation. He seemed oddly quiet, stocking the refrigerator with the fruits and veggies.
I walked past him towards the middle of the kitchen and saw that the kitchen cabinets were then stock with some new utensils, cups and mugs.
Did he go shopping??? There were other items too...salt cellar, turmeric, olive oil and other food making stuff.
He definitely went shopping. I licked my lips, not understanding the reason behind his silent treatment.
"So you went shopping??"
"Yes, I did. Only because I didn\'t want my wife to tire herself with it but guess what?? She already has been tiring herself with some man..."
Kian said in his mocking tone and I was shocked at his petty accusations.
"I was not fooling around with men...I went grocery shopping."
I defended myself and it looked like he was not really convinced at all.
"How much time does it takes for you to buy all these??? Four hours?? And was it that the streetside vendor giving you ride to home??? I did not know street vendors here drives Mercedes??"
Kian fired an array of questions my way and I did not know how to reply to all of them back without making it sound like we were about to have another argument.
"That was Nathaniel Anderson...he drove me home."
I said. I did not see any reason to hide the man\'s name from him who drove me home.
"Why did I not expect that??"
He chuckled, cruelly. I strode towards him and held onto his shoulder, reverting him back to face me.
"Except what??"
"That you will have lines of suiters, the moment I turn my back on you??"
He yelled, slapping my hands off of him, walking out of the kitchen, furiously.
He was jealous...and angry that I had been driven to home by another man?? He could not be serious...could he??
"Are you jealous??"
"Why will I ever be jealous?? You are not that important to me...get over yourself."
He spat out, narrowing his eyes and looking away. There we were...we were again heading towards the direction of the gibberish argument.
"You do not mean that...I m important to you...I m your wife, Kian."
I wailed the last part like a child, angry for not being listened to. How could he say that??
"If you are my wife, stop throwing yourself at men first."
He snarled and then opened the door, walked out, closing it behind him in a thud.
