Chapter 314 Looking At Him Meaningfully

Chapter 314 Looking At Him Meaningfully

At Lewis Hospital…

Leila accompanied her daughter until Cain\'s surgery was finished. The surgery was a success and Kimmy almost hugged the doctor while still crying hard after hearing the good news that Cain was now safe.

After his surgery, Cain was transferred to the VIP ward of Lewis Hospital. Kimmy hadn\'t slept last night just watching over him. After ensuring that Cain\'s condition was better and he was safe, Leila went home.

Kimmy asked her mother a favor to relay this incident to Daniel, Cain\'s father. The two of them decided to tell his father about what happened to Cain this morning. Leila would accompany Daniel going to the hospital to see Cain.

Kimmy cried a thousand tears last night while silently praying for Cain to wake up. She fell asleep from crying too much. She didn\'t even notice that it was already morning and the patient beside her was already awake.

Slowly opening his eyes, Cain struggled to sit up. There was a throbbing pain on his head as his vision was still gloomily colored with the memory of last night\'s accident.

When the throbbing pain stopped, Cain looked on his side only to see Kimmy\'s sleeping figure. A deep frown appeared on his face as he watched Kimmy. He recalled a long dream he had last night. He was reminded of an unpleasant memory that happened in the past.

His trauma was triggered by that dream wherein he saw himself standing at the altar, waiting for his bride to arrive. He thought it was the sweetest dream he had when he saw his beautiful bride at the entrance of the church.

But that dream suddenly turned into a nightmare when his bride suddenly ran away, leaving him alone on that altar. His heart constricted as if it was being squeezed, suffocating him. A cold glint flashed through his eyes before it suddenly disappeared.

It did not take long when Kimmy woke up. She was surprised upon meeting Cain\'s gaze. \'He finally regained consciousness!\'

Kimmy stood up from her seat, hugging Cain right away. She started to cry once again. She was scared to death last night. She thought she would lose Cain. She didn\'t know how she would live if something terrible happened to Cain.

"How are you? How do you feel? Are you alright? Are you hurt somewhere? Do you want me to call a doctor… wait I will just call a doctor?" Kimmy hadn\'t recovered yet from the shock as she was still in her panicking mode. But she felt relieved now that Cain was already awake.

Cain just remained silent as he watched Kimmy\'s back. She used the phone inside the private ward to call Cain\'s doctor. Kimmy was still talking on the phone when Daniel and Leila arrived.

Leila was pushing Daniel\'s wheelchair as they entered Cain\'s private ward. Daniel\'s face was painted by worries and concerns for his son.

"Son…" he called Cain with a hoarse voice. His eyes were teary as he looked at him. Upon reaching his sickbed, Daniel immediately reached out to hold his hand.

"Dad, don\'t worry about me. I\'m just fine," Cain finally spoke up, breaking his silence. His expression softened upon seeing his father. He felt guilty for making him worry. His father had a weak heart.

Daniel was glad that Cain was not severely injured. At the same time, Leila also heaved a sigh of relief when she heard that Cain was now fine.

"You made us worry a lot, Cain," Leila said, tapping his shoulder.

"I\'m sorry, Aunt Leila." Cain gave her a faint smile.

"Next time… can you please drive carefully, son?!" Daniel couldn\'t help but nag his son.

"Yes, Dad…" Cain simply responded, scratching his face.

Soon, Kimmy was done contacting the doctor. He was on his way to check Cain\'s vitals. She walked over, joining them. Her puffy eyes were fixed on Cain, observing him with deep concern and longing.

"Cain…" her voice croaked. She felt like crying again. That was the first time she got scared to the bone. Her heart almost couldn\'t handle it.

But now that Cain looked just fine, Kimmy could finally feel at ease. Couldn\'t control her emotions, Kimmy pounced on Cain once again, hugging him as she tried to hold her tears.

"Cain… please don\'t scare me like that again, okay? I swear I will hate you…"

Cain just blinked his eyes several times. There was a look of puzzlement in his eyes as he watched Kimmy in his arms.

When Kimmy had finally calmed down, Cain held her shoulders, meeting her gaze. With an unreadable expression on his face, Cain asked her, "Miss… Who are you? Do I know you?"

Kimmy\'s body stiffened when she heard those words from Cain. Even Leila and Daniel were utterly shocked because of Cain\'s last remarks.

\'What is the meaning of this?\'

Leila and Daniel exchanged glances with one another before they darted their gaze back and forth between Cain and Kimmy.

"Cain… don\'t joke around like that. I\'m Kimberly… your fiancé…" Kimmy said, having conflicting thoughts right now.

She didn\'t know what to feel. Did Cain forget her because of the accident? But how could that be possible? He even recognized his father, Daniel, and Kimmy\'s mother, Leila.

But Cain was looking at her with a blank expression on his face. It seemed like only Kimmy was the person he couldn\'t recognize among the people inside his ward.

"Kimberly? My fiancé? I don\'t remember having a fiancé… and I can\'t remember you," Cain said, making everyone speechless. The room was engulfed by deafening silence.

Daniel, Leila, and Kimmy couldn\'t believe that Cain had forgotten Kimmy. They were in that awkward and gloomy atmosphere when Cain\'s doctor arrived.

"Dr. Calvin, come over quickly! Please check my son-in-law! How come he can\'t remember Kimmy but he can recognize his father and me?" Leila was the first one who reacted upon seeing the doctor.

The doctor was also shocked when he heard that. He glanced at Cain, who was looking at him meaningfully. At that certain moment, Dr. Calvin realized something.

"Maybe… it\'s Selective Amnesia…" Dr. Calvin said awkwardly, answering Leila\'s query.
