Chapter 66 - Reason

Trying to remove the thought of his family and father from his mind, Shane decided to look at his newly purchased bow.

Not only was the bow made out of rare, durable wood, but also the string was manufactured from a mid to late elite stage beast\'s tendon.

As such, Shane couldn\'t help but smile proudly as he looked at the bow in his spatial ring.

With his newly purchased equipment, he would be able to increase his combat prowess in addition to his already accumulated combat experience.

To top it all, Shane would be able to sell his equipment for more than 50% of its original price, as long as it was not excessively damaged after losing the required efficiency.

This meant, as long as he reached the peak apprentice or low expert stage, Shane would be able to earn back some of his investments.

In the end, he wouldn\'t lose everything he had purchased today and regain some of it which made Shane feel extremely satisfied.

Somehow, Shane was extremely stingy, even though he had grown up in a  luxurious mansion. He hadn\'t experienced the plights of poverty, like other youths around his age, had to endure.

There were only a few reasons why Shane decided to take the third path for his journey through the Basic Primordial dimensions.

These reasons were relatively easy to decipher. Shane required a high amount of funds in the future in order to purchase the Apprentice and Expert [Mythic] body refining technique in addition to the multiple purification techniques.

He knew it would be an arduous adventure but Shane was sure that the benefits would easily outweigh the torture and challenges he had to face.

In the end, everyone was given a fair chance and an equal opportunity, but most humans thought it was impossible without even trying, while some tried, only to give up midway.

There hadn\'t been a single human who had achieved anything extraordinary within the Primordial Dimensions, except a few ones who boasted about their achievements, as they seemed to have cleared an advanced primordial dimension ruin.

Others were full of themselves because of their extraordinary skills, like some tamers who thought of their tamed beasts as if they were superior to humans at the [Ruler] stage.

This might be possible but even so, most tamed beasts would be weaker than humans at the same stage and boasting about that only indicated that the tamer had low self-esteem.

Even Uncle Max had told him the same and Shane had never heard him boast about his wyvern. It had unexpectedly made him proud because he thought of his uncles and aunts more than his father.

With his newly purchased bow and other necessities, Shane went outside as the sun began to rise slowly, shining brightly on his clean face.

Umbra was coiled around his shoulder as usual and Shane wanted to upgrade his quality as soon as possible.

However, his curiosity to test his archery skill was more important to Shane right now as the ingredients for Umbra\'s quality enhancement weren\'t going anywhere.

There wouldn\'t be much of a change either way and he was sure that the upgrade from the rare quality to extraordinary would take much longer.

With his previous quality upgrade taking 8 hours, Shane estimated the time to be at least three times longer and he wanted to refine his physique in the meantime.

As such, Shane wanted to test his newly acquired bow and arrows before he would have to take a day off to upgrade Umbra\'s physique.

Walking out of the inn, he paid an additional silver as his clothes had soiled the bedding the night. He then proceeded to walk towards the shelter gates where he saw familiar faces.

He faintly remembered the kind guards who had probably brought him to the inn where he had slept through the day before.

They didn\'t seem to notice him as he walked towards them. Shane bent down before them in order to thank them sincerely.

Taken off guard, the young guards couldn\'t understand what had made a youth suddenly bow to them. Shane explained who he was polite as they kept looking at him with surprise.

They couldn\'t believe that Shane was the beggar-like figure they had brought into the inn the day before.

Understanding their confusion, Shane could only smile lightly, as he was well aware of his outer appearance over the last weeks.

His childhood etiquette lessons had taught him to behave nicely and politely with the added requirement of appearing presentable and tidy all day round.

However, over the last two weeks, his appearance had been more than a little shabby for the majority of the time.

He himself didn\'t mind that and he would be fine with it, as long as any combat style or something similar wasn\'t hindered because of it.

With his bow wrapped around him and multiple tier-1 common quality arrows within the quiver that was attached to his belt, Shane left the RadiantRing shelter once again.

He was confident in his Archery mastery as it had only been over a month since he had trained with a bow at a distance of 100 meters.

Even though his target was inanimate, the distance of 100 meters was still huge. His physique had been at the 3rd Mortal stage at that time, while his mana pool was still empty.

Now his cultivation was at the 8th Mortal stage, while his physique was at the 7th mortal stage.

With this, he was confident to hit an inanimate being 100 meters away, even if he hadn\'t practiced his archery skills for a month.

He might as well improve his capabilities as long as he got the hang of his past archery skills once again.

Entering the forest attached to the outer area of the radiant mountain ring, Shane nocked an uncommon tier-1 arrow at his bow, as he tested the pulling force a few times.

`Heavy…` Shane lamented after two pulls up to his chin, as he was forced to slowly pull back the string to its original position due to the heavy force weighing on his arms.

After a few tests, he concluded that he was only capable of pulling back the bow three times in a row.

Pulling it back more often than that would strain his muscles, leading to a temporary or even a permanent injury if he were to overexert his muscles too much.

At the most, Shane could activate his [Berserk] skill in order to pull back the Tier-1 bow more often than previously stated.

This could be advantageous and even a single arrow might change the outcome in a fight against multiple opponents.

Shane had been happy to figure out his limit when a group of peak wild beasts came into his view.
