Chapter 315 - Talking About Alex
"Why don't you go to sleep soon? Is something bothering you?" Dean asked as he walked over to Bryana who was lost in thought.
"I'm dizzy," Bryana replied wearily.
Dean climbed into bed and lay beside Bryana, staring at the ceiling lit by the orange lamp. "What happened, was shocking and painful indeed. but it's all over and we don't need to dwell on it because it will only be a burden to us."
"I just didn't think that Fin was Gustave's son. Daddy never told me about this, even Raymond probably didn't know," said Bryana angrily.
"I also didn't think that Gustave's evil seeds were still there. The late Clarissa also never told me that she had a brother. As far as I know, her mother only has one child, that's she," said Dean, remembering a bit of his past with Clarissa.
"He acted like a hero to us. His play was a totality. He was even willing to get hurt for us to last for over two months. Of course, I didn't suspect he was a fraud." Bryana tilted her head up to look at Dean and put her arm around his chest. "He also showed his aunt's house, I saw his aunt lying limp and there was a cousin in the house too."
"They're nothing to Fin," Dean said, glancing at Bryana.
"Then?"
"I don't know. I visited the house after Dany told me. I went to look for you with Louis, but the house was empty. I'm certain. The aunts and cousins you mean are just errands," Dean explained, remembering.
Bryana sighed, her chest felt like it had been hit, it hurt so much from being fooled. she recalled the events at Aunt Fin's house. "Where's Dany. I only remember the last time I was with him drink tea, then I fell unconscious and woke up with Fin."
"Dany is on bed rest because he fell from a cliff while trying to save himself from your car which was intentionally made to fall into the ravine by Fin's bodyguard."
"My car fell into a ravine?" Bryan looked in disbelief. the car in question is her favorite car, she even just remembered about her bag which contains a smartphone and a residence card and others are in it.
"Your car was deliberately pushed into a ravine. And that's when Dany realized and immediately jumped. Your car was burnt...I came and I was so scared, I thought you were in the car." Dean tilted his position so his eyes met Bryana's. He rubbed his wife's cheek very gently. "I thought you didn't survive because, before that, I had a bad feeling. "
"What's that bad feeling?" Bryana asked.
"Our wedding ring fell off when I was washing my hands. Usually, even if my fingers are slippery, the ring never comes off if I accidentally let it go. starting from that I started to panic and contacted you, but there was no answer," explained Dean, remembering the chaos this afternoon. He explained everything to Bryana until he understood that what happened seemed to have been neatly arranged by Dean.
"Then how do you know that I'm at Gustave's house if there's no information about Fin at all?" Bryana asked.
"Alex was the one who told me when I asked him that once was involved in a fight with Fin. Turns out he already knows that Fin is Gustave's son," Dean answered sadly looking at Bryana's bruised face.
"Could Alex be involved? But... He helped us even risking his life." Bryana seemed to be confused by the situation.
"I don't know. ...if Alex had told Fin from the start, maybe none of this would have happened. I've been nice to him by trying to be brave enough to let him come here even though I was jealous when he looked at you, but it turns out he's hiding such a big secret." Dean touched Bryana's face. . . "Maybe you won't get this kind of treatment, not harassed... ...not hurt...."
Bryana touched Dean's jaw and looked him in the eye intensely. "Honey, you said all that passed was nothing to think about. It's all over and I'm fine by your side right now. You don't need to be sad anymore, I have also tried to forget what happened earlier even though it was very difficult because it was too terrible."
"I'm disappointed in Alex..even though he has helped us but all of this would never have happened if he had told the truth about Fin from the start...I feel betrayed because I insisted that he had changed for the better but he lied to us all by being silent even though he knew who Fin was." Dean looked so disappointed, full of regret then hugged Bryana for a moment.
"You're right. Alex has let us down. No wonder he helped us, maybe because he felt guilty," said Bryana.
"And he owes us an explanation about Fin. He has to explain Why he's hiding all this from us...
if he's changed for the better, he'll tell the truth," Dean said firmly.
Bryana nodded in agreement. "Tomorrow we go to the hospital."
"Yes, your wound also needs to be treated again, right? So that it doesn't get infected. You also need to." Dean turned to take Bryana's injured hand. "This must be sore. Your foot must also hurt so much that you have difficulty walking."
"It's fine. It's just a minor wound. It will heal soon." Bryan smiled reassuringly.
"What has he done to you to be like this, honey. Did he beat your body too?" .asked Dean wistfully.
"This wound was because I was trying to defend myself from his brutality. I hit his head with a glass and the shards of the glass hit my legs and hands," Bryana explained, remembering the horrific incident this afternoon.
"But you're great, honey. you are strong and brave to fight him to defend yourself, to defend your honor as my wife ... In fact, you made him a deterrent by hitting him when I was fighting for a gun with him," Dean said with a smile of admiration.
"Because I don't want anything bad to happen to you..we are of one heart, we promise to accept each other and fight to maintain our relationship no matter what, including helping each other when something like this happens. You're like a second superhero to me after dad," Bryana said with a smile so sweet.
Dean smiled with a happy hue on his handsome face, then leaned forward until his forehead fused with Bryana's. "And you are a wonder woman for me. Wonder woman who is like a wild lion."
"Don't provoke my wildness..tonight I just want to sleep because my body hurts," Bryana exclaimed with a blushing smile.
Dean chuckled in his baritone voice then kissed Bryana on the lips for a moment, then hugged her. "Now go to sleep. I also want to sleep because tomorrow we have an even better day...I hope nothing bad happens to us again. Ah yes... we have to go to the hospital to ask Alex for an explanation."
Bryana nodded, buried her face into Dean's chest, and inhaled the intoxicating woody aroma that made her slowly close with Dean. hem, they're both tired...
