Chapter 454
Few days passed. They were quite busy ones when I look back, but back then it felt like I was doing nothing, and just wasting my time.
Despite my promise, I avoided the researchers and didn\'t get them the books I said I would. Instead, I did a bit of giant hunting and traveled to Dwarka to meet with my assistant Vikram Kaur, whom I asked to find me a piece of land in the city to buy, and also find me an architect.
p
I spent most of it translating one of the Bahumdabars books to English, and hunting some giants, to put more crystals to sell. They have been bought very quickly, as both armies, and the researchers needed funds here, to make some progress.
I heard that soldiers started challenging the goblin boss, with the crystals they acquired with money.
The rest of my time I focused on Tihana. I regularly visited her, trained with her a bit, and even went hunting some goblins few times.
Her progress was slow since she didn\'t really get many resources from outside, like the other new people in the city. I didn\'t want to spoil her and make her think that everything will just fall from the sky on her lap in her life, so I was quite hesitant about giving her crystals. I also didn\'t want her to be unable to deal with the dangers in this new environment. She needed to be able to take care of herself in the future.
I also noticed that she and Rishi seemed to be still going out, despite what I did when I first saw them. I wasn\'t too concerned about that since the boy was nice and hardworking, plus she had Tam with her, and the rooster would defend her in case of emergency.
With time the news of the new expedition to Uhms\' settlement spread around, and the group started to slowly assemble. I convinced Ki\'rai to come with me and then Asked Hatta to put her, Tihana, and me on the list.
Martin, Hailwic, Nil, Andy, Nadzieja, and Alice were also going, all as guards. With me joining, it seemed like they didn\'t have to recruit anybody else since the group was strong enough to deal with any dangers we could encounter.
I\'m not gonna lie. I got a bit excited to see Ole and the other scouts after all this time, not to mention the exploration of the intriguing culture of Uhms\'. I was having chills every time I thought about this.
On a couple of last days, I got even busier with the house, since I managed to buy the land, and the architect wanted to talk the layout of the house through.
Since the weather was quite nice in India I wanted to have a big terrace, and also a big garden. My mother always enjoyed nature, plus some nice trees would act as a great buffer for the noise. Which inevitably would become a problem in the near future, considering how many projects were suddenly being developed in the city. I saw dozens of constructions on my way through the city.
I also wanted several rooms for guests, each with a bathroom, a large kitchen, and a library in the basement, since I always wanted one. I also needed a garage for some cars. Although my mother didn\'t have a driving license, I was gonna get her a chauffeur anyway.
We walked around the piece of land I bought for quite a while, as the architect kept explaining his vision, and taking notes. He also did some measurements and wrote them all down. It didn\'t seem like that much, but it took a whole day, and I was supposed to meet later with somebody who would plan out the garden.
Since the expedition was happening soon, I had to rush things with the property. Who knew how long we would spend with Uhms. Fortunately, I was able to meet with that person the next day. It was a terrible meeting. I was bored out of my mind, when they talked about the plants, and what was going to be where.
I didn\'t really care. I just wanted a garden, but I also didn\'t want to be a total asshole, so I didn\'t end up just telling them to do whatever. I walked around for hours, listening, nodding my head, and asking some questions, but damn, was it boring.
With all that mess out of my way, I left my assistant to take care of everything and then got in touch with some local lawyer to leave the funds for everything just in case.
Then I finally threw the whole thing out of my head. Even the thought of repeating this in Poland was making me want to puke.
Shortly after I finally got the date of the expedition, and made some preparations. I was planning to shadow walk back and forth on the way, but I didn\'t really want to make everybody know, so I needed a tent and everything.
I did some shopping with Tihana since she needed more proper clothes, shoes, and other stuff for this whole endeavor.
That\'s how this time had passed. It was busy, objectively speaking, but I still felt like I had done nothing. Probably because I was used to measuring my accomplishments with visible stuff, or just the upgrades I acquired.
It was kinda hanging over me, but the excitement for the upcoming journey made it go away quickly. There were so many aspects of this trip I was looking forward to. Reuniting with people I actually didn\'t see for some time, and cutting our way through monsters. Showing Tihana and Ki\'rai how cool the Uhms were, and digging into their culture myself.
This period of time came to an end with 24 330 290 points remaining on my account, and 21 class points.
