"See what I had to do to warm up? I told you to not annoy me.""..."
But there was no answer whatsoever, and there was no obvious place in which the young heir of the Perserios family could be standing still shaking from fear.
"You are so lucky I wasn\'t born under the Aquarius constellation, or I would cleanse up that shield of yours in an instant..."
The dark-haired man\'s face twisted in an angry grimace as he shivered from cold despite speaking about warming up just a second earlier.
"..."
Even so, regardless of what he said there was no response from Devios, and honestly it even looked as if the blue-haired boy left the area altogether.
"Minimal amount of survivors, nothing that can\'t be dealt with an appropriate amount of misinformation. They should have no problems with completing their order like this, right...?"
George breathed out, nodding to himself while glaring down on the fallen members of the Perserios family seemingly abandoned by their heir.
The dark-haired young man looked over at the castle but didn\'t even take a single step towards the building and instead turned around and...
...froze in place, trapped by an increasingly thickening layer of ice that began growing on his body because of the horribly low temperature coupled together with the amount of moisture covering his body and clothes.
"Serves your right."
Devios breathed out and released the water bubble, revealing himself to be standing right beside the freshly frozen enemy.
The younger boy\'s fake eye was now dim, as he had used the mana within it to lower the temperature of the surroundings just so he could trap his opponent.
"I wanted to capture and interrogate you, but it\'s obvious that it is a far too risky thing to do. Someone like you should not be allowed to cooperate with our enemy."
Devios declared, glaring coldly at the motionless opponent, killing time required for the moisture from the surroundings to gather and form an ice spear in his hands.
"Even if things created by mana don\'t work on you, this should do the trick as I only lowered the temperature around the water, not affecting the water itself in any means."
The blue-haired boy wasn\'t just monologing and loafing around taking in and enjoying his win, as he talked he was already prepared to strike with the ice spear, not even bothering to check whether the momentum given by mana would carry on and...
*stab* *stab* *stab* *crack*
Devios pierced his frozen enemy through the eyeball, piercing the head, through the neck, and then through the heart, breaking the ice spear in two and leaving the halves inside the man\'s body just in case.
"Say, sentinel. Can you contact Zoemi or miss Burushi now? Without healing magic there is no way we could save them."
Without taking his eye off of the defeated and hopefully dead opponent, Deios asked leaning his head down towards his own shadow.
"(Unfortunately, nothing changes regarding the communication between them and us – but if it\'s healing magic you require, I am capable of using them with one-third of the power that master\'s friend possesses.)"
Although the murky-black sentinel didn\'t have good news about the thing they were asked about, they come up with a solution on their own.
"If that\'s how it is, could you please try and heal th..."
"Law of Gemini"
*STAB*
Devios nodded, smiling with relief right before his stomach was pierced by a water spear.
"...wha...? Gh-ugh...! H-huh...?"
The blue-haired boy looked down wide-eyed at the liquid kept in shape by mana mixed with his own blood, before looking back at the defeated enemy.
The frozen opponent was still exactly how he left it and the broken spear was still sticking out of his head and chest.
Unable to comprehend what was going on, Devios turned around, stumbling, barely able to keep his balance.
"You are good, kid. Very good. Shame that you had no idea about – Law of Gemini."
George, alive and well, with no traces of any sort of damage whatsoever, was standing a dozen of feet away from the heavily wounded blue-haired boy, snickering mockingly, speaking the name of the technique he used. And as he voice it out, a perfect copy of himself stepped out from behind his back with exactly the same type of smile plastered on his face - just as if he was there the whole time.
"You were not facing the real me, so don\'t be ashamed of losing like that. Law of Gemini can be used to create a copy of the user or copy an entire technique, or a single attack - of course, each level depends on the mastery of the user. You were unlucky that I was born under the Gemini constellation which gave me a boost in learning its secrets. And that little thing hampering your health right now..."
The dark-haired man raised his hand, pointing at the water spear embedded in Devios\'s abdomen.
"Normally a Heavenly Star Nation citizen should be incapable of using the power of the law to copy spells as they are directly opposing each other... but I am a mixed breed and can bypass a little inconvenience - I bet you are regretting using it against me just about now, don\'t you? How do you like a taste of your own medicine?"
\'Law of Gemini."
George asked in delight and his copy raised his hand and said out loud the technique\'s name, causing another water spear to appear by his side.
*thump*
"...what broken kind of attribute... is this...? You freak of a variant magician...?"
Devios dropped to his knees and asked, clenching his hands on the wound and the spear protruding from his stomach.
"It\'s not an attribute because it\'s not based on mana. And I am not a magician. This is spiritual power."
George answered, shrugging his shoulders as his copy pointed his hand at Devios who fell face-first to the ground.
*stab*
"Huh?!"
"...what...?"
The copy of George unleashed the attack but as he did, Devios\'s boy disappeared in a flash of murky light, causing the spell to pierce the frosted ground, causing both the copy and the original to gasp in shock.
