Chapter 162
......
Whoosh!
Blink decapitated another goblin and as soon as his feet hit the ground, he let out a bright silver light and vanished
Xiu!
Blink could be seen standing behind three decapitated corpses with a cold look in his eyes. If Damon were told this kid he took in as a disciple has this kind of personality, he would never believe such words.
Run!
The other goblins began running back but Blink didn’t look bothered, nor did he feel pressured in any way. He just followed the goblins and walked at a slow but steady pace.
He walked through the forest with a cold look in his eyes while he considered a few things. If anyone were to see him at this moment they will definitely realize they had made a very big mistake by underestimating this kid who has never taken anything seriously.
.....
But thinking of it now, Cassius Blood remembered during the last battle with the orcs, how Blink appeared at the center of the battlefield without fear. With his almost instantaneous teleportation skill he tore through the battlefield and killed many before reaching Cassius and forcing him out of the battlefield.
“From afar he has already determined the outcome of the battle and moved accordingly... His perception is far above what someone his age should be able to do.” Cassius said with a frown.
“But this kid is not like this when the death mage is around. Is he purposefully leading the death mage astray or something else?” Roselle asked with a raised eyebrow.
She could feel the shift in energy around Blink every moment Damon leaves. It’s like, as Damon leaves, he takes the cheerful child in Blink and leaves behind this cold and calculative persona.
“Nope. I really don’t think he is hiding his true identity from Damon. It’s more like he has no reason to be like this when the death mage is around since he feels safe. Blink becomes like this because he needs to be like this if he is to survive” Micheal said with a frown.
Meanwhile, Blink followed the goblins to a cave and as soon as he got to the entrance he stopped moving. His eyes were shining brightly as he gazed at the entrance of the cave with a deep frown. His hand seemed to be reaching for the silver dagger sheathed around his waist area but then he stopped abruptly and looked forward.
Bang!
Blink abruptly dashed into the cave and countless wooden spears were launched at him. His eyes revealed a cold light as he began vanishing rapidly while brandishing his daggers at the wooden spears and darts!
Peng!
Peng!
Peng!
Countless weapons were knocked off the air as Blink kept clashing and advancing. He could see the openings in the walls, it was like a trap triggered as soon as he entered.
Thud!
His feet hit a particular spot and he saw a magic circle lit up and fierce flames surged from there. Blink could be seen spinning in midair as a part of his silver robe was set ablaze. He barely escaped the attack but even then his eyes remained calm.
Hmph!
Blink frowned deeply as his feet were about to hit the ground and numerous spots lit up causing him to feel enraged.
Do they think they can kill the one and only disciple of the death mage this easily?
Do they really believe he is someone that can be defeated by mere goblins?
Yes! He may still have the same cultivation base as a weak human realm mage but his strength far surpasses anyone his level can hope to get.
“Let me show you, what true strength looks like” Blink’s voice was extremely calm and collected as he vanished.
Xiu!
Xiu!
Xiu!
Blink teleported so fast that he created several afterimages as countless pillars of flame filled the cave entrance!
Swoosh!
After a few seconds, a figure emerged deeper in the cave with a slightly pale face while he kept breathing heavily. His eyes, which were bright before, seemed to have dimmed slightly.
“That was close... but then again. To have such advanced defensive measures put in place means that the enemy is far more capable than he expected. An average goblin cave should not even have any defensive measures in place... This goblin hideout may be home for a goblin warlord or a goblin Shaman” Blink speculated with a frown.
His eyes shifted to the places where the fire pillars erupted. These things could be considered standard-level array formation mastery. The shaman here must be good and the possibility that there is a goblin shaman and a goblin warlord.
“Hope for the best and expect the worst!”
Those are the laws Blink has always lived by or at least believed. He had the most powerful man as his master yet, when left alone he pushes himself to the limit and beyond not because he doesn’t trust Damon can protect him but in a situation when something wrong happens he won’t be left helpless.
“Do I proceed or retreat?” Blink muttered with a frown as he contemplated his next move.
With his current level, he should be able to deal with any enemy within the human realm but the problem lies with his limited mana reserves. So far, killing those goblins and escaping the array formation left him with less than half of his mana reserves.
“Or do I use that power?” Blink muttered dryly with a hint of reluctance in his eyes.
He refused the werewolf curse but he took something even more precious.
The blood of the death mage!
Damon couldn’t let Blink remain the way he is. With his cultivation defect, he couldn’t gather enough matter mana to cast large-scale abilities, and his weak physique, left him handicapped in a world of cultivators and fighters.
Since he rejected the werewolf curse, Damon was surprised when Blink came up with something different.
‘They are watching’
A voice rang in Blink’s head and he frowned and looked up. He could only see the ceiling of the cave but he already completely believed that there are people outside watching him. He was aware that Damon must have left someone formidable within his shadow for extra protection but he didn’t wish to rely on the person.
What he didn’t know was that he had an army hiding within his shadow.
“It doesn’t change a thing if they find out now or later. If they are loyal to my master, I have nothing to fear. If they are not loyal to my master, then I will have to depend on you” Blink said with a frown while he kept looking up with a frosty gaze.
The first bloods above the clouds who could see within the cave with some sort of secret technique frowned. They felt like Blink’s gaze was pinned on them causing them to shiver!
These people have always considered Damon terrifying but today they didn’t know who to consider more terrifying. Damon or the kid who is meant to be his successor.
Huff!
Blink exhaled as he began untying the ropes around his waist while unfastening his robe. Everyone watched in anticipation as he pulled off his clothes and what they saw sent shivers down their spines.
At the center of the kid’s chest was a gem, with a darkish-green aura surging within it. The skin around that area was already corrupted and the veins stretching from that area were black and thick. It was a very disgusting and unsettling sight but Blink didn’t seem to care.
“If I cannot gain the power of death for myself, I can still let the power define who I am” Blink muttered as his once silver eyes turned darkish green and a cruel smile appeared on his face.
Only now did people realize he had fangs for teeth and his body has always been slightly paler than that of the average person. The little child suddenly released his silver aura tainted with the aura of the death mage, sending a terrifying shockwave within the cave. His eyes narrowed as the darkish people’s aura became more like a fog and began spreading farther and stronger.
Crazy laughs and cries could be heard as the countless goblins located in all the various chambers of the underground cave began running crazy. Their eyes turned blood red as visible black veins began popping all over their body.
Many began foaming around their mouth and began racing towards the source of this intoxicating feeling with crazed looks on their faces.
Cassius and others observing from above shivered at this and watched the young Blink, unsheath his silver dagger with a cruel smile.
“Death magic: Wavelength of madness!” Blink said with a sinister look on his face.
