Chapter 336 - It Was All Worth It (2)
"So what did you and Xu Wenyang talk about? You two looked so serious earlier." Li Meili asked Tang Moyu once they stopped at the red light as the latter drove her towards her apartment before heading home to Peach Blossom Garden.
"Not that serious. He\'s just curious what I plan to do against my mother. He\'s one of our major investors afterall." Tang Moyu shrugged and glanced at her dashboard mirror, only to see her twins eating yet another snack while their eyes were glued on the cartoon playing on a tablet.
She sighed, knowing there would be crumbs on her backseat again and that she would need to ask Auntie Lu to help her clean up the car later.
Behind them, she spotted the car that her little buns\' bodyguards were using. Ever since the kidnapping incident due to the Ye family\'s issues, she and Feng Tianyi had made sure that the two would be followed around with more bodyguards for their safety.
"Is your \'Mother\' still insisting that you don\'t have any rights over Tang Enterprise? Haven\'t she realized that out of the three Tang siblings, you are the only one who had Tang blood running in your veins?" Li Meili lowered her voice, intending to prevent the little buns from hearing what they were talking about.
"It doesn\'t matter, Meili. I know that by just looking at me, it reminds her of my mother." Tang Moyu resumed her driving once the lights turned green.
"But it isn\'t your fault. Well, she was the one who insisted on getting married to your father, knowing he was already with your mother. What did she expect? She was the one who got between them, but she pretended like she was betrayed by her husband." Li Meili snorted.
Ever since she met Zhang Wuying, she never liked the old woman. She hated her even more now, since Zhang Wuying still intended to use Tang Beixuan against Moyu.
"I\'m sorry for dragging you into this, Meili. You and Beixuan deserve better than this." She heard her best friend apologized. "Actually, I considered leaving Tang Enterprise, if this meant you and Beixuan could be together." She admitted.
"Don\'t say that, Moyu. You don\'t have to. You worked hard for that company, and now that it is flourishing, they want it back? Aren\'t they shameless? They want to eat the fruit of your hard work! There\'s no way in hell Beixuan and I would allow you to give up the fight just like that." Li Meili scowled. "Promise me, Moyu. Don\'t give up Tang Enterprise without a fight. Beixuan said he didn\'t want to be part of it if it means betraying his sister."
"Thank you, Meili. You and Beixuan have suffered enough. We\'ll get through this, I promise." Tang Moyu said. If she didn\'t have Li Meili on her side for the past years, she was sure as hell she wouldn\'t be able to survive on her own.
"We will, just like we always do. Don\'t worry about me and Beixuan, Moyu. Whatever your decision is, we will support you. You don\'t have to sacrifice anything for us." Tang Moyu heard her best friend say. "Anyway, even if you lose Tang Enterprise, you still have Xiao Xing to look after. That is something the Tang family or Zhang Wuying can\'t take away from you."
They would surely vomit with blood once they found out that the empress wasn\'t only swimming in money, but in diamonds as well. Who needs a useless inheritance when the empress could double and triple money without breaking a sweat.
Some would say that it was better to work smart than work hard, but for Tang Moyu, it was work harder, work smarter. Talent would be useless without hard work. No matter how talented a person was, if he lazed around, it would be a waste.
"Let wait and see how far they would go just to oust me." Tang Moyu said. "Zhelan just sold her shares to someone, but I\'m not sure who it is yet. She\'s close to my mother. I\'m pretty sure they are working together at the moment."
Li Meili punched her drink with the straw in her hand before taking a sip. She had been busy working on Gu Yuyao\'s wedding dress and was finally free to take a break and relax.
Lu Tianxin had also commissioned her to do her bridal dress, but since she and Ye Xiaozu hadn\'t decided the date of their wedding yet, Li Meili still had free time to brainstorm for the design of the dress she would be making for the next bride.
Her eyes then turned to her best friend, whose focus was still on the road. Li Meili had yet to mention it to Tang Moyu, but recently she had a vision of what the empress\'s wedding dress would be like if ever she decided to get married to the devil.
"I would never understand that cousin of yours." She commented. "Tang Zhelan has been a pain in the a.s.s ever since we were younger. She always covet after what you have and compete against you for anything."
Tang Moyu hummed but didn\'t say anything. Her cousin had been envious of her, but Tang Moyu also didn\'t understand why. Tang Zhelan\'s parents had given her everything she wanted. They had spoiled her rotten, while she, Tang Moyu, had been ignored by her father and was constantly maltreated by her \'mother\'.
What\'s to be envious about her? If anything else, Tang Moyu should be the one who should envy Tang Zhelan for having loving parents and having the freedom to do whatever she wanted when she was younger.
Tang Moyu pulled her car to stop at the parking space near Li Meili\'s apartment.
"Thanks, Moyu. I\'ll visit you and the little buns soon. Don\'t miss me too much." Li Meili winked at them while the twins waved their hands at her.
